Good for him cashing in when given a chance to get some consistent playing time.

Still do that trade 10/10 times though.

  2. DeucesWild10

He dropped 26 last night. Good for him! Like
    Him a lot

  3. Weary-Amoeba1808

I noticed some bad blood after he tried to chase down Tatum’s dunk last year and Tatum looked at him like he had tried to thrown hands at Deuce. Lol

  4. luke_workin

But he *was* a paperclip and a piece of string at the time of the trade lol he was ass

  5. vusa_pid_nosom

Not only that was good traid for celtics then, but it became crusial peace for Jrue traid. 100% win for celtics
Also, totally understand why his butt is burning.

  6. dramanautking

We got jrue out of brogdon but Neshit thinks anyone gives a flying fuck about a mediocre wing gimme a break.

    >paper clip and a piece of string

A paper clip is kinda useful lol (theis), nesmith is just the string.

  7. justiceway1

I think even right now every GM in the league would do that trade still.

  8. Amazing-Donut-8852

He ain’t a bum but I wanna see more(not against the Celtics tho)

  9. johngannon8

He needed to go to a team where he could get some actual minutes. Even so he’s acting like he’s an all star. Had 26 points for the first time in his career he’s getting ahead of himself.

  10. itspizzathehut

Yeah well we don’t get Jrue without trading him so I’d say it was worth it

Classic. Yet another example of the Celtics being held to a higher standard when it comes to moving players. Virtually any other team can trade or cut players for any number of reasons, but heaven forbid the Celtics do it, when they move a player they’re the big bad team that made an underhanded move with bad intentions. The players will hold grudges in some cases years later. What a literal joke. Sorry, Nesmith, you were just another bench player for the team, and moving you wasn’t a slight against you. Players are routinely moved in the NBA. Even funnier is if the Lakers or Heat move a player, said player will go out of their way to openly pine to return if the opportunity ever presents themselves. Probably get them a parting gift when they hear about the trade. Laughable.

Why are Cs fans obsessed with Nesmith lol?Good for the guy getting an opportunity on a rebuilding team. He couldn’t cut it here. The Cs aren’t rebuilding and couldn’t spoon feed this guy minutes to develop. They ended up getting last years 6th man if year for him and then turned that into Jrue Holliday. It was the best for all parties involved.

  13. LeftLane4PassingOnly

Weird. In the big picture the Celtics did him a favor by moving him. He was never going to break into the Celtics rotation and as a result was never going to get the minutes needed to develop. Now he got paid, which also was never going to happen in Boston. He should be sending them a thank you not shade.

I don’t understand people interpreting this as anything other than Nesmith responding to Bleacher Report. There is no judgement about the Celtics in this image, we don’t need to get defensive about it

  15. Last_Bat_4925

Isn’t this saying he’s the paperclip, though?

  16. irisheyes9302

I liked him a lot and thought he had a ton of potential…but in the Celtics position at the time, you make that trade in a heartbeat. Nesmith was a project and we were trying to win NOW.

  17. I_Set_3_Alarms

Love you green bean. Glad he got to go somewhere with playing time that allowed for mistakes

  18. Economy-Ad4934

I have no idea how he got paid. I’m not hurt

  19. Maxwellr___

Don’t really care tbh if he becomes something good for him, he wasn’t gonna get much time here anyway

  20. JoJonesy

Good for him, man. Don’t know why anyone would be mad about this, he’s not even bashing the team or anything

  21. lefebrave

He has a point but it was and it still is a good trade for Boston even if he turns out to be a better player than expected. (Which is not proven yet and even it is proven, it is not an evidence that he would be the same player in Boston.) The thing is, reports like this one from Bleacher are usually pointless. Most trades have mutual benefits, it might turn out better for one team in time but they are not usually one-sided. Actually, the ones that can be tagged as “fleecing” or “robery” usually don’t involve this so called “paper clip” packages, on the contrary, they might include Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett at the same time if you know what i mean. All in all, Nesmith certainly has a right to get mad at Bleacher’s idea of “paper clip”, Celtics still have nothing to regret about what they gave up on that trade.

To be fair that bleacher report post was disrespectful asf lol
