“Finch vowed to have more structure in the offense this season, and he said after the game that he thought the missed shots at the rim had much more impact on the outcome than anything else. If the Wolves had gone 8 of 13 at the rim rather than 2 of 13, they probably have a double-digit lead going into the fourth.

But Finch also has to dig deeper into what it is in this team’s DNA that continually causes it to blow big leads. Should he pull players more quickly after turnovers or bad defense? Should he burn all of his timeouts in the third quarter, taking one after every opponent field goal? Should he be even more heavy-handed when it comes to calling plays and orchestrating offense?

I don’t know what will work. I just know that whatever the Timberwolves are doing when their big leads start to shrink is not working, and Finch has to be the one to lead them through this adversity.”

How many times must Finch or Ant or anyone say we missed shots and we couldn’t defend. I’m sick and tired of it! Same excuse used to all the blown leads to Memphis, the 18 double digit blown leads last year, the blown lead to the lakers. Double digit blown leads will be what the finch era will be remembered for

The article has the right take, it’s an ugly loss and it’s frustrating that it’s some of the same problems from last year but there was a lot of positives in the first half. Ultimately it’s on Finch, Ant and KAT to make sure the team is playing the right way on offense and Ant was where the ball started getting sticky, Finch didn’t do much to get the team back on track and KAT has to be more effective every night. he’s had a slow start to this season and needs to get back to his expected efficiency. Nobody’s job is in jeopardy after 3 games tho.

Bad teams are just as likely to have a ridiculous first half like we had last night, so in a lot of ways I hate that stuff. Vet players like Conley and Kyle didn’t absorb that energy because they actually are consistent.

I think the change that needs to be made is to give Jordan McLaughlin a serious, consistent role on this team, especially on nights where the offense gets stuck.
Ant has not shown the ability to run a high level NBA offense consistently.

Jordan McLaughlin, when he’s playing well, is the best option to run an offense other than healthy Mike Conley. So far, he’s looked great in his minutes and preseason running an offense, and has shot well from 3.
Conley last night was dealing with food poisoning and was not good, we specially late. We needed someone who could orchestrate an offense at a high level. Jmac had a bad second half of last season post injury, and won’t be the option every night, but he absolutely HAS to be a guy who gets a shot to get the train back on the tracks when the offense grinds to a halt. He injects a level of pace that this team needs at times.

There’s something between letting an 18-1 run unfold and calling a timeout after every basket.

The team is deep enough to sit someone down if they’re not playing the way they need to, regardless of who it is.

It’s wild how we can sometimes look like a top 3 team and sometimes not even look like an NBA team.
