In response to Nic Batum being included in the Clippers-Sixers trade for James Harden, Batum’s wife Aurelie (or Lily) Batum posted a screenshot of Jrue Holiday’s wife Lauren Holiday talking about her grievances with Holiday being traded without any prior notice & a gif saying “TRUST NOBODY”

The [Lauren Holiday IG Post](https://www.instagram.com/laurenholiday12/?hl=en&img_index=2):

> “On Wednesday, my husband took a nap. He woke up to news that he had been moved. No warning, no heads up, not even a conversation that it could be a possibility. Just, it’s done. Now move on because ‘it’s not personal, it’s business’.

> I’m not sharing this to say we are entitled to anything. I’m sharing this to say we are human beings whose kids develop friendships with other kids in our community, we are people who value family and friendships and invest in the cities we play in. We don’t just take from the city we play in, we give to the city we play in and we give our all.

> So, yes, this is more than business. Not because we’re offended by it but, because we are people, we’re humans, we have relationships, dreams, and a connection to where we play.

> As I write this, we are grieving the loss of that while celebrating the hope and the joy of what’s ahead. The growth is in allowing ourselves to feel this pain now and turn it into power for how we move forward. That’s who we are and that’s who we always will be

I need every (blindsided) traded NBA players’ wives to start posting Lauren Holiday’s post from here on out cause it’s lowkey kinda funny thing to do

I’d be mad too if I had to do a reverse Fresh Prince

  2. xerxesthagreat

lmaooooooo mf thought NIC BATUM WAS UNTOUCHABLE

  3. SaltyLonghorn

Poor rich woman has to tell movers where to put her couch.

  4. We’re sorry Batums. We still love yous. 😔

  5. RaggasYMezcal

Steve Kerr has made clear to the press that he tells players this is a big part of why they are paid so much. They give up control of where they have to report to work when on a contract.

  6. saltface14

Lol as if Harden to the Clippers rumours haven’t been going on for months now with Batum as one of the possible salary fillers

  7. tigerpawn

I get it, it’s tough going from LA to Philly lifestyle-wise. Just gotta get thru the next 3 to 7 months and it’ll all be over and you’ll be living in CALI/NYC/MIA by the summer

  8. BobLobLaw_Law2

I’m sure they could work in a “we tell you everything in advance” clause if they took a pay cut. Sucks to be blindsided but you signed up for this when you married a basketball player. Get over it or become a plumber.

  9. Greg_Pim

I mean she can stay there? He gets an apartment in Philly and returns in the summer. It is what it is

  10. kokukojuto33

lmao literally EVERYBODY knew Batum would be part of a deal that had been pending for months except his wife?

Looks like he needs to talk more with her lol

  11. DeadCellsTop5

These people are so fucking tone deaf it drives me nuts. Yes, your husband can get moved at any time. To offset that, you get to enjoy millions off dollars and not have to work a day for the rest of your life. Shut the fuck up and be happy with the immense privilege you already enjoy.

  12. eanregguht

He’s retiring at the end of the year, y’all can legit just move back to LA in like 6 months.

  13. SoKrat3s

If the Batums were completely blindsided by this possibility they were not paying attention.

  14. TacoPersonality

“That’s what the money is for!”

  15. blacksoxing

Few professional athletes have stayed on the same team for their whole career.

Nic Batum – bless his heart – has spent 15 years of his life in the NBA and played for 3 different teams. Not once has he ever been a superstar. Not even a star. He’s always been at best “a threat”. He’s NEVER been the clog in a trade proposal that we know of.

His wife is his wife, and I dunno how long they’ve been married and all of that….but damn, it’s hilarious to think that she’s on the same plane as Jrue Holiday’s wife (Lauren) as Jrue had MUCH more pull in MIL and was considered to be a true “glue guy” and really is a star player in the NBA.

I’m sure his wife is now mad that she gotta leave LA and move to Philly, and probably will nag him about how they should move to France when he’s done….

This is good to read in an ironic way, but she should get the gas face for such a comment.

  16. heysuess

Wow does anybody have it harder than NBA wives? I don’t think so.

  17. jupiter__jaz

Do people not understand how this business works?

  18. Petri-chord

batum has made almost $200 million usd over his career. she should be nothing but grateful

hes retiring in 8 months anyway just stay in LA

  19. Necessary_Dog_2317

Why does this seem to be a much bigger deal in the NBA for players than other sports?

  20. I_Voted_For_Kodos24

Batum’s career earnings are $186M and he hasn’t been relevant since 2015. I’m sorry for your wife, kids, dog, etc., but honestly lady, there’s so much going on in the world right now. Get a clue.

  21. dksmoove

Oh no now I have to go find a new mansion to live in Philly. Boohoo.

  22. Shingorillaz

    >”TRUST NOBODY”

You can trust that direct deposit on the first and fifteenth tho.

  23. petarisawesomeo

I am outraged they didn’t show more loyalty to *checks notes* NVM

  24. Throwawayidiot1210

Is there anything more privileged than being an nba players wife? You literally don’t have to do anything except exist for the rest of your life

  25. jgroove_LA

She can stay in LA for the next six months while Nic is in Philly. He was planning on retiring at the end of the year anyway.

  26. yoyododomofo

We are not entitled or anything. We just feel like we should be given a warning so we can prepare our kids for losing all their friends before Woj breaks the news. You know like all the dads and moms who normally get traded from their jobs with no warning. Or yeah sometimes they get fired not traded but I’m sure they get ample warning for that especially. You know we are only multi millionaires how can team ownership be so cruel?!

  27. realzequel

Can you imagine the two GMs are about to finalize the deal when one says “Well we can finalize it once we run it by Nic’s wife”?

I think most NBA players understand trades happen. No one is untouchable and absolutely no player or gold-digging family member is gonna get a heads-up.

  28. She’s just sympathy farming in the fertile ground of social followers. Does it make sense? No. But she’s getting what she wants out of the post.

  29. Evakuate493

Awwwww. Poor spoiled woman reaping the benefits of their rich, athlete husband now has a minor inconvenience in their life 🙁

    Boohoo! Boohoo!

  30. Dymatizeee

These wives gotta chill lol it’s part of the job. Wow your husband gets traded but he gets paid millions and you never have to work. Tone deaf

  31. matchboxfourtwenty

Cry me a river. Batum has made a fortune in his career and is about to retire. Or he could just retire now and have enough wealth for multiple lifetimes and stay in LA.

  32. breesyroux

If my job told me with no notice I had to move across the country for a few months my partner would be piiiiissed.

Then if I told her they were gonna pay me $20 mil she’d start packing my bags.

  33. Amuzed_Observator

Well then marry a plumber instead of a millionaire athlete.

Fucking entitled rich people. Any stress this added to your life is nothing compared to the stress the average American family faces just trying to make the bills.

    Fuck all the way off!

  34. UselessBastid

Oh those poor, poor (millionaire) housewives….how ever are they going to recover from moving from one mansion in their current city to a mansion in another??? Won’t someone please think of the housewives!

  35. Welcome to the league. You signed the contract. Feel free to retire at any moment if you don’t like it though.

  36. SomeBitterDude

If my employer did something like this i would DEFINITELY demand to be paid millions of dollars.

My thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time

  37. AcidofilusRex

Zero sympathy. You get paid millions to play the game you “love”, and you know going in getting traded is a possibility.

  38. creedbratton603

I’d move my kids every single day of the year and have them being Steven Glansberg at every school they went to if it meant I got paid what Nic Batum has to play basketball

  39. Jheartless

If only she knew this could happen before she got married to an NBA player and had kids………

  40. typespirit

having hundreds of millions in any north american city is literally not going to be a problem for you nor your kids. get over it shit is tone deaf.

  41. Walrus-Ready

I’d just look at my bank account and shut the fuck up

  42. 1antinomy

Batum is nowhere near the caliber of player to think his spot was secure

  43. JHaliMath31

Families of nba players crying about being traded is never gonna get sympathy from me. Y’all are millionaires. Batum can retire and you all are still set for life. STFU

  44. Danominator

Look lady I get that this sucks but this is the nature of the job and they get paid a fucking lot.

  45. throwaway__rnd

These people are outright delusional. First of all, you don’t need to move your whole family to the city where your husband is playing from. Secondly, even if you feel like you do, you have virtually infinite money. People are living in squalor and despair, and these people are mad they have to relocate for their multi million dollar job.
