I never thought embiid wanted to leave

I have to imagine a big piece of Embiid not wanting to go anywhere is the stability in his personal life. He has a wife and son. The Hardens and Durants of the NBA do not. A lot easier to ring chase when you’re unattached.

    I’m happy he’s happy here.

And Maxey looking like a potential all-NBA guard also helps, in that the 76ers don’t necessarily need a superstar. Just a star level player.
