Yeah I don’t know bro, team construction wise the Wall/Beal Wizards were the far better team

Gill says stupid shit, sky is blue, grass is green

They Definitely would not beat the shit outta them. Pretty close matchup. Take 06-07 vs 16-17 John and Gil are abt equal Brad > Deshawn but Deshawn would make him work for his points Otto < Caron but similar to Brad/Deshawn Keif < Twan but again similar to Brad/Deshawn Haywood and Gortart are abt equal
Bench: Bogie, KO, Mahimi abt equal to AD,Jarvis, Etan

2017 Wizards would run any of Arenas’ teams out of the gym. Prime Wall fastbreaks were lethal, everybody ran with Wall and those Eddie Jordan-coached teams were notoriously awful on defense.

The same episode where he says he just be saying shit to keep some of those old names alive. It’s just Gil being Gil. I actually love his podcast though. I get tired of the boring debate shows, and embrace the ignorance.

God, I love Gil so much. Muss this guy

2016-17 Wiz for sure are our best modern team, I’d take the 2014-15 team ahead of any Gil era team too.

Idk if he’d beat the shit out of them, but it’d be close. Looking at minutes played for the 05-06 and 16-17 squads you’d have:
* G Gilbert Arenas v John Wall * G Caron Butler v Bradley Beal * F Jared Jeffries v Otto Porter Jr. * F Antawn Jamison v Markieff Morris * C Brendan Haywood v Marcin Gortat
Bench: Antonio Daniels/Etan Thomas/Michael Ruffin v. Kelly Oubre Jr./Jason/Smith/Tomas Satoransky
It’s pretty interesting how closely the teams mirror each other, in both personnel and advanced stats.
My head says Wall/Beal win (outshoot Gilbert’s squad, better D). My heart says Agent 0 punks Brad and hits halfcourt 3s to win 4/7 games.

Well Gil + Caron + Antawn > Wall + Beal so I see where he’s coming from

Paul Pierce would call game

They would. Pre-injury Gil was better than Beal or Wall, no wing could have competed with Caron, and Antawn was a machine. They weren’t great on the inside, and they would have had a hard time keeping up with Wall, but any of the Gil big three could hit threes, and Wall wouldn’t be able to count on any real steady scoring from the outside to counter that.

Ok, how many championships does that get us?

No way he said he’s faster than Wall😂

At least the Gil teams had 5 players the current team only has 3

In a 7-game series… it would probably go 7. And I’m giving the nod to the Gil led wiz because Caron and Antaawn could both score on multiple positions as well as guard.

Absolutely fucking delusional

Nice of Brandon Jennings to give Wall props tho, I actually liked when he played for us
