I’m calling it…We beating the Bulls
No one's really mentioned this but is it possible Cam's getting tired? Three games of heavy scoring load and bigger minutes. JV said Cam had been feeling some tiredness in the fourth quarter of the cavs game which was also backed by Cam citing his scoring workload. In the Miami game, yes, they were physical with him but he almost looked like he couldn't get any lift on his shots nor on the finishing of his drives to the rim. I mean it may just be an off night but i also wouldn't be surprised if fatigue is affecting him based on the above given his young age.
Can these guys get a upset in playoffs
An optimistic show is always good for morale. It sure as hell help when you're on a two game winning streak with the last "victim" being last year's conference finalist.
We could safely throw away last year's template and look at the Nets as more of a new team than last season's team. From the ashes of the "big three" fiasco, a new coaching staff, draft picks, and acquisitions were selectively signed. From their press conferences, Marks and Vaughn are on the same page concerning the strategy going forward. Based on post game press conferences, Nets fans should be optimistic about the comments from JV and the players. A positive vibe has been created. That's always a good thing.
One of the ingredients that defined Sean Marks as GM of the Nets is his ability to find players with high character and potential. It's early but I think he nailed it this season. He's a better GM today than last season because of the mistakes he's made in the past. JV is a better head coach because of the same reasons. Making mistakes are a part of learning. There aren't any short cuts to making progress. From past experience, I don't think the Nets will attempt to take any.
The Bulls, our next opponent, are not only a veteran team but have capable talent. DeRozan, LaVine, and Vucevic are a potent trio and they have a decent bench. I could see us losing this game because of their continuity, size, and they're playing at home. They'll be pumped up. In spite of us missing key rotation players, I hope we match their intensity. Some of the Heat players said, after their loss to the Nets, that key to the Nets win was that we played fast an aggressive. That'll be one of the keys to win against a large physical team like the Bulls.
It’s just way too early for any of these stats to mean anything. To decide that rebounding has been resolved after 4 games or any stat is silly. Let’s see what they are when they start playing the hard parts of their schedule and what they are 25 games in.
The uniforms are definitely agita inducing.
Simmons is the real difference this year! He can rebound like a beast. He boxes out and has thickness like sharpe. Fundamentals are there. Push the pace. Jkidd style. 20+ fast break points in 4 straight games its been 20 years since!
