The Utah Jazz fell to the Orlando Magic last night in a one possession loss. The Jazz are putting out outstanding effort and battling through the game, but it is the singular little plays that are costing them in the end. It is death by basketball papercuts.
Jordan Clarkson is the Jazz 2nd best offensive player and right now the Jazz are going as Jordan goes. What is causing Jordan the struggles in losses. Is it a lack of spacing? Is it not having another dominant ball handler near by? Is it just a phase?
The Jazz are in the midst of a 7 game stretch that will give us all a very clear vision on where the team stands and what is ahead. The Jazz are 1-1 in the first two games of the stretch with a 4 game road trip around the corner.

Too many lost/ inefficient possessions killed us. Orlando's defensive hands on balls was impressive.
Clarkson only thinks about himself on offense. Doesn't bother to think at all on defense. Dude is trash af
No, the jazz lost because hardy went into the last defensive possession of the game with olynyk and Jc in the game. I liked hardy before, but now he's at the bottom of the coaches imo.

Tht has been at worst the third best player on the team. He's the only guard that can produce on both ends consistently

Thats your main problem right there locke. You said jc is our second best player because hes our 2nd leading scorer while being 1st in shots, 8th in fg%, 13th in defense and 14th in basketball IQ. Jc so overrated for half a season of effective scoring 4 years ago lol

Clarkson is a 6th man. Like Jamal Crawford. He is not starting 5. Never was. Never will be. Still hoping for a THT, Sexton, Clarkson trade. Fans need to stop being attached to players. No excuse for a loss to Orlando Magic. Very happy for John Collins here. Ainge did great job here.

Bench Jordan clarkson why are you guys along with Will Hardy obsessed with starting him! He is not a starter he’s a damn good 6th man. How many times does he need to show that! Y’all get get so mad with sexton but he’s playing the least amongst the guys who are starting! Did it ever occur that hat his lack of rhythm is because he’s barely playing , a guy making 18 mil a year isn’t starting ir even getting minutes. He’s always been a starter in his career coming off the bench and then not playing is WEIRD and it’s impossible to get in a flow of the game the way will hardy is conducting this team
So hard to watch last night. Endless turnovers and they can't shoot. Clarkson kills us. Turnover machine. Defense non-existent.
My humble opinion… Utahs identify is in flux and needs to be resolved if the playoffs are a serious goal this season. Couple things need to happen.
Guard line Sexton, THT and Clarkson. 2/3 of these need to be traded. Inefficient high volume sixth man type players. I think Clarkson could bring back the most value… but really I’m fine with any one of them staying but going into the sixth man role. I don’t care if these guys are flipped for second round picks. Cap space in the offense can be used to bolster the guard line.
Trade Kelly Olynyk. Offensively he is a crutch for our playmaking our offense often runs through him and in turn it takes the ball out of Lauri and Collins hands, force the guard line to learn how to initiate the offense, KO is preventing us from going through necessary growing pains. Defensively we go from rim protection to no rim protection and the differing styles affects fouling, chemistry etc of our defense. It also affects how good our guys play around Kessler. I would rather play Kessler 30 minutes and Yurt 18 and then a John Collins Lauri small ball occasionally.
Side note I know locke says KO isn’t a 5 but when he is in he is guarding the Sabonis, nurkics of the world and when he got into foul trouble Yurt replaced him.

Frustrating game. Problems all over the shop. Oh wow you mean people are finally waking up the fact Jordan Clarkson is actually bad like 70 or 80 percent of the time? Been saying it for years. Its why I didnt want the Jazz to resign him. He was really good for us after the trade and the first half of the following year…..after that hes been genuinely net-negative about 80 percent of the time.
