I don’t like Fitz’ announcing and usually will tune into the tnt/espn broadcast if possible, but TK really just seems like an asshole to everyone in Bay Area sports. It is worth saying that after watching the suns spurs game last night is a great reminder it can be so much worse than Fitz as an announcer

i know i’m in the minority here, but i really don’t mind bob and i don’t think homerism is a valid critique of local announcers.
bob’s certainly something of a whiner, and maybe the textbook “square who thinks he’s funny”. he’s markedly less fun to listen to since we lost JB, but he obviously knows and loves the game deeply and i think he’s got one of the best voices and shticks in the industry. the pros outweigh the cons for me.
and home announcers are just that. *home* announcers. they are not journalists, moderators, or judges. they owe no one any degree of impartiality. i also think bob’s whiny homerism is wildly overstated by people, particularly here. for every time he spends time grousing, you can find three instances of him complimenting the other team. the general opinion of him here feels like more of a meme or a result of selective hearing and bias than a reflection of reality.
e: also i love how self-righteous people are being on here about kawakami being “childish”. as if this sub isn’t a thousand times more infantile and bitchy. glass houses y’all

Eh. All seems pretty standard. Idk that it’s breaking ground to say that a lot of people don’t like Bob but Lacob does and that’s what matters. And that Tim can be prickly about defending himself and his writing staff. Funny it all started with some Bob/RR burner accounts though.
Also this article reminded me how all time awkward Bob and Lacob were with KD at the parade. Always felt like that was the first nudge in the wrong direction.

That’s when I lost respect for Kawakami, but I’ll be dambed if I can remember the story. I’ve also googled without success. What the hell happened back then?
