Either Darko has to find a way to better incorporate Siakam, or the front office needs to go in another direction. Siakam is clearly better than how he’s being used, so there’s no purpose of him being used as a role player on a max contract.
Nurse’s scheme on star players + Embiid makes life hard. The two games where he visibly didn’t get the ball enough were both against Philly. Ofc he’s gotta be more aggressive but only if his USG% keeps tanking somehow should they panic

It’s a little bit of both, he is playing like trash and sometimes isn’t getting the ball enough, but people also ignoring he is also just playing ass, he gets the ball a ton but isn’t doing much with it and when he tries to do something it just isn’t working

From what I saw he had plenty of chances, but he couldn’t score inside against Embiid, got shut down in the post by Harris, was stripped twice by Maxey on drives, and missed all his threes. Big wings like Harris, Tatum, Brown have always given him trouble. More usage in these matchups just means the team will lose.
Watch the way Scottie received the ball and the way Pascal receives the ball. Scottie is posting up, cutting hard while Pascal waits in the corner. Pascal is also playing like he doesn’t want to get hurt. Doesn’t take it hard to the paint or trying to get fouled anymore.
This is perfectly fine for a game against the Sixers? The team is going away from iso ball that Siakam is also not very good at.
This is Barnes team, so Barnes usage is naturally going to be higher, and Siakam’s is going to reduce.
Siakam is accepting of a new role, which is absolutely great. He is engaged in team huddles on dead balls and is allowing Barnes to take the leadership role.
Siakam’s most effective role in general is this role, he was just playing on a back to back game (twice actually…) against Philly who has Embiid and also Tobias Harris who is a hard cover to play defense against and also is a long wing defender too.
This tweet is such a surface level analysis of how Siakam should contribute in the new makeup of the Raptors right now.
Siakam usage one game is less than 20%. That is just one game against a tough defensive team with Embiid in the paint.

It’s up to him to fit better into the system but he’s being used like a 3/D player and when the shots aren’t falling from outside you get games like tonight. He deserves a few more touches, IMO, or we should go in a different direction.
