[Elhassan] I think the Knicks are a team that’s engaged in a ‘civil war.’ That war is between the guys who know how to play and the ones that don’t.

>I think the Knicks are a team that’s engaged in a ‘civil war.’ That war is between the guys who know how to play and the ones that don’t.

>On one side you got Brunson and the Villanova guys, you got Grimes, Hartenstein, Robinson…

>On the other hand of the ledger you got Julius Randle, RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley… guys that are just playing ‘impulse basketball.’ You can get through a regular season on impulse basketball, you can’t get anywhere in the playoffs on impulse basketball.

Edit: fixed a quote in the 2nd paragraph (added Villanova guys)

Amin is just talking out of his ass like always.

  2. >On one side you got Brunson, you got Grimes, *Hartenstein*, Robinson…

I’m automatically on that side. Miss you IHart.

  3. Prestigious-Rock201

All that leaking to the media about how embiid might want out meanwhile Brunson will want out soon, pathetic

  4. Cold_Carpenter_1798

Randle is in a war against basketball in general

  5. IntrinsicDawn

Didn’t Robinson’s trainer just complain everyone is playing ‘me ball’

  6. FloweredWallpaper

So…who here had the Knicks as a lottery bound team this year?

  7. petrichormus

One of these days someone will slip up and unironically say basketball terrorist on air

  8. Acrobatic-Reaction-7

This has to be the most “talking out of my ass” post I’ve ever seen. Whoever said this clearly does not watch the Knicks

  9. dienxkalamb

When they scrimmage in practice they should divide up into two teams based on who knows how to play basketball and who doesn’t.

  10. >guys that are just playing ‘impulse basketball.’ You can get through a regular season on impulse basketball, you can’t get anywhere in the playoffs on impulse basketball.

Russell Westbrook, who isn’t even on the Knicks, feels personally attacked.

  11. Ulius Ranle laying enough bricks to build stairs to the moon.

  12. reedhubbert88

I don’t think this is unique to the Knicks honestly

  13. Inner-Outside-9798

That sounds about right. Randle is horrible and RJ hasn’t taken that next step. The Knicks not extending quickly says a lot.

  14. EnoughLawfulness3163

This type of nonsense is only possible when talking heads are forced to keep making up content about big market teams.

  15. StefonDiggsHS

tbh you could say this about every team. No one was saying this when Randle, Barrett and quickley all shoot 50/40 in a game and they win by 20.

I’ll preface by saying I’ve got no love for Thibs … but I’d bet that his style is starting to wear on some of these guys and that’s part of it. Players are much more willing to buy in when they see results, but if those results start to plateau then the yelling and tough love coaching still gets old really fast.

Thibs is good for turning a team around, but I don’t have any faith in his ability to take a team far in the playoffs.

  17. lovemesomemarvel

I don’t know how you become a winning basketball team with Randle. His body language, his play style, everything about his game is gross. I’d hate having to watch him on my team

  18. TruthSayerFu

Brunson is good but he iso all the time and plays no D. Why would he be in the side that “knows how to play” while quickly and RJ “don’t” ?

  19. Unfair-Worker929

Randle’s regression is alarming. Hopefully just a bad stretch and only temporary?

  20. footdragon

Quickley was runner up to 6th man of the year….but somehow he plays “impulse basketball”

GTFO with that noise. Knicks not picking up Quickley’s extension was just stupid.

  21. electrons-streaming

I think this is all unfair to Randle, Barrett and IQ. They play legit basketball, but each one is trying to take the initiative and force the action when the play inevitably grinds to a halt. Brunson does the same thing.

It looks like good basketball when the ball goes through the hoop and forcing iso when it doesnt.

  22. Edwunclerthe3rd

Idk what shit he’s on, some of the most memorable plays in the playoffs were Iso

  23. ssj58trunks

This is actually complete nonsense, Quickley is probably one of the best communicators and smartest defenders we have. How is he playing impulse basketball

  24. ContributionTall6335

Has there ever been a player the fans and media have collectively been this disgusted by?

  25. Teflon-Ron

Why is DiVincenzo devoid of any criticism? There’s a reason he’s bounced around so many teams. And c’mon now, Quickley is one of their most valuable players. Microwave scorers certainly have a place in this league. I’d much rather have him than DiVincenzo on my team.

  26. Jordanwolf98

Quickley is a 6th man spark off the bench that style of play is supposed to be his role

  27. OldKingRob

RJ played better in the post season, and started this season good

I don’t think he deserves to be in the group that doesn’t know how to play

  28. IsaacClarke47

Brunson and Randle are both slowing up the offense with their ISO rn. Only difference is JR cant make anything.

It’s odd how much of a hate boner ppl have for Randle. Like, he gets more hate than the domestic abusers and dirty players in the league.
