Joe Mazzulla said the Celtics bigs need to learn from Joel Embiid about staying in the paint on defense to protect the rim. Asked him why his bigs aren’t staying in the paint: “Well, there is a rule called D3, but I don’t know if it’s a rule anymore. But I have to look it up.”

It’s wild how much Embiid just gets away with, all the time. He’s such a good player and really doesn’t need the added advantages he gets.
Rules don’t apply to MVPs like Giannis or Embiid.
If centers can stay in the paint forever, Boban Marjanović may get a supermax.
He was knighted three years ago and its so obvious. Doris Burke literally sits on a dryer while calling his games for espn. It’s disgusting.
They aren’t staying in the paint because Joe has them guarding perimeter players while Jrue guards Embiid and KAT lmfao
The way Embiid can get away with flopping, fouling, and 3 secs. Is no different than the Eagles o line getting away with holding and false starts. What’s the obsession with refs making sure all the Philadelphia teams are good? NFL and the NBA are becoming unwatchable.
They’re not that bad at protecting the rim tbh, what pisses me off is that they’ll attempt to block a shot and then just watch as the other team rebounds it and scores an easy one
Embiid does whatever he wants and gets the whistle at every turn. He’s absolutely gigantic and it’s almost impossible for players to keep away from him and not foul. Great player for sure, but probably my least favorite opponent to face.
76ers fans are the most insufferable bunch.
He even gets to stand on the baseline with the ball in his hands, and three seconds left in the game and not get called out of bounds
