I have been a fan of Ham. For what it’s worth, I thought he did a great job last season. But I gotta be honest, this team is entirely too talented to come out and perform this poorly. From the rotations, to the defensive schemes, to the obvious Wood & AD front court.
Reddish and Christie needs their minutes cut, period. (once we’re healthy). People need to stop trying to make Max Christie something he’s not, which is a rotational player.
I’m fine with Vando starting when he’s back too but AD and Wood on the court together is a good look.
Also, give Rui his fucking minutes back.

The 3 guard lineup went a -72 in the first 2 games of the WCF. Ham ran it back for game 3. The 3 guard lineup was the difference in 3 out of the 4 games in the WCF.
What he’s doing right now is somewhat irrelevant. He sucks but regular season games don’t matter much. He was the reason we lost the WCF. We should have gotten a new coach over the summer.
We have a lot more problems than Ham I don’t think this sub understands. An AR/DLo backcourt can never work defensively without Vanderbilt there, who’s been injured the whole season. AR and DLo have shot like shit for majority of the year. AD missed a game. Prince missed a game, Rui missed 3 games.
We are second to last in 3 point shooting at 29.8%. We are shooting UNDER 25% on CORNER 3s. Reddish and Christie are not NBA level players. There are so many things attributing to our losses, so yes Ham sucks but firing him isn’t gonna magically make these other problems go away
LA hasn’t had a decent head coach since Phil. I don’t get why they keep testing or using washed up people. Maybe it’s easier to not put someone in there who would challenge Lebron
Ham was a diversity hire tbh
Ham isn’t the problem. If the Lakers hire another coach, it will be the same 5 out offensive system. The same rebounding and defensive issues will continue until the organization addresses the real problem.
Andddd who is gonna replace Ham and have an improvement? Let’s hear the names..
Star players: Year 21 LeBron who is injury prone/trying to take a backseat and inconsistent AD who is injury prone.
Coaching/team health: Sucks ass yearly
The writing is on the wall, this team has no future with this core.
We gotta get D’Antoni so that we can brick wide open threes even faster.
Rondo as head coach? Who says no?
They need literally any coach with a motion offense. D’Antoni coming back with this roster may honestly be a good thing because the 7 seconds or less the Lakers have a bad habit the last several coaches taking too much time off the shot clock not passing enough or shooting quick enough.
Ham is a problem for sure but at the end of the day the players also need to step up.
I’m so sick of the 5 out offense we used this year.
Just to be clear I’m not calling for Ham to get fired, he shouldn’t.
Ham is a coach who is great as an assistant, tough, someone who can win the players’ trust and help them develop; and those characteristics tricked the FO to hire him as a coach (i.e. “the players want him”), a position which involves various nuances that he is not ready to deal with.
Exactly the same applies for Griffin from the Bucks.
First it was Vogel, Then Westbrook, Now Ham… maybe the people in charge of hiring are the real problem
Weird post.
AD starting is great.. if he can stay healthy. Not even 10 games in & he’s hurt
Christie might get a lot of chatter on here. Regardless if he’s ready or not he’s only getting minutes due to injuries.
Rui deserves more minutes but he just got back from injury…you’re demanding something he’s more than likely going to get
Ham fucking blows. Looking at timeouts alone..what other team in the league do you see let other teams make runs like we do before calling a TO… he’s a players coach who has no business being a head coach.
Would love to say our team has to much talent to play this poorly..does it? It’s ugly..ugly basketball from piss poor shooting once again to absolute pathetic effort/rebounding on either side of the ball.
Hams the first thing that needs to go
Should have hired Ty Lue in the first place.
We still would have won #17 and every team he’s ever coached has played hard for him.
Jeanie/Rambii/Rob fucked us hard by showing him the door with an insulting offer.
Hands in pockets, legs crossed. Darvin HAMas is a true basketball terrorist.
If your biggest suggestion is roational switches, why would it be the coach’s fault when we barely have a team rn? Too talented how? Our players can’t shoot rn. I agree with give the front court a run but again, teams not healthy. Defensive schems I cant even judge when we have the poorest defensive back court in the league and lacking key wing depth, it disappoints me how poorly we contest shots and constantly find our players out of position for rebounds but I want to know how that changes with ppl like Vando then we see where we need to work specifically.
Would’ve much rather kept Vogel ngl
Maybe you’re over evaluating the talent on this team…
He did terrible last season and abysmal in the playoffs. Refused to play big against Memphis. Always instantly doubled Jokic giving wide open 3s 4 games in a row. Trash lineups throughout. Only offensive execution is picks and three point chucks.
What’s terry stott up to? Can’t be worse than this uninspired mess
WILL YOU PLEASE STOP
DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TALENT AND PREPARATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED AS A COACH?
HAVE IT EVER OCCURED TO YOU THAT OF ALL THE COACHING STAFF THE LAKER HAS THEY DIDN’T OBSERVE/SEE WHAT US KEYBOARD WARRIORS ARE ALSO SEEING?
THEY HAVE REASONS FOR THE ROTATIONS, THAT IS THEIR LIFE/WORK
And I won’t believe that any typical subredditor suggestions is much better than a professional NBA coach backed by analytics, nba staff etc
Calm down, trust them, if they let’s have a reasonable games first before evaluating,
I know for much Pelinka does the same, IT’S HIS FUCKING JOBBB!!!!
You dont realize ham was the plain reason we didnt win the chip last year. That denver series was a piece of cake for bron and ad, too bad we got a coach that was obsessed with a 3 guard lineup. He put schroder on murray every fucking game when he got vando
Ham fleeced the front office coming from the Bucks. He got ahead of himself since LeBron is the sole reason Lakers got to WCF if it needs to be attributed to one person, not Ham.
