Joe is a great HC idgaf what anyone thinks it’s up to the players to execute better. Love him dunking on that hack Washburn

  2. Impossible-Animal569

It wasn’t a dumb question though

  3. Frank2442

He talks like he’s got the resume Gregg poppovich šŸ¤”šŸ˜‚

  4. whysoserious50

Seems like joe just got defensive over relying on the 3. He didn’t ā€œcookā€ anyone. He’s in his feelings

  5. Jaysontatumpepnips

What would you say you do here Joe?

  6. I don’t know how anyone watched that game and thought the threes were the problem. Sure, there were some ill-advised ones, but most of them were wide open and good looks. We couldn’t score inside because the Sixers defense was good, notably a little known roleplayer named Joel Embiid, and on the outside our shot wasn’t dropping despite the good looks. Celtics in 5 idc. How quickly people scapegoat a coach when our two best players drop horrid games is insane.

  7. Nothing has to be scarier as a sports journalist than meeting someone who read your work

  8. sidcitris

Joe finding his inner Ben Shapiro with that response. Thought he was going to say “hmm curious” at the end

  9. This is on dumbass JB and bum ā€œgive me playing timeā€ Pritchard

I’m not a huge fan of Snarky Joe but Gary has to be put in his place. Dude is a clown.

  11. tacko2020

I’m not even the biggest fan of Joe’s coaching sometimes but dude he is hilarious even the people who want a new coach gotta admit that

  12. rascalmendes

I like pissed off Joe. Fuck the haters.

  13. IWillLookAtRedditNow

Best part is Gary going to twitter and being like “HEY JOE SURE WAS WEIRD TONIGHT, HUH?” and then getting cooked again in his own comments.

Although wide open 3’s are good shots, when your team is cold you have to try to get easier shots to get back your rhythm. So Post ups, mid range shots, layups if possible. Seeing the ball go inside the hoop helps to get you going. Our Guys always insist on jacking up 3’s even when ice cold. That’s why we are not good at winning ugly games.

I mean, there is a valid response that there’s an overreloance on threes from some teams which can cause offensive inconsistency, and one of those teams has been the Celtics.

  16. Mazzulla knows that if the Mazzulla-ball-chuckin’-3s narrative sticks while the team is losing, he’s out of a job.

Coach is the only seat left where Stevens can make a meaningful change

  17. TrunkThunder

It just feels like when the threes aren’t hitting we have no alternative and that’s when it becomes problematic. Last night looked like last years playoff run.

  18. Mazzulla has become such a smug, sarcastic, sensitive dink. Why the fuck is he wasting time finding a 2016 article about the dangers of shooting 3s the day before a game against one of their EC rivals?

Joe, instead of searching the web for old articles to use as ammunition against a beat-writer in a passive-aggressive post-game response, maybe step away from your computer, take off your kimono, put down your limited edition Chuck Norris nunchucks and engage your very capable assistant coaches in a strategy session about how to adapt when the 3s aren’t falling and iso after iso is failing.

Also, I don’t dislike Washburn but he should have been able to come up with a much better response. He basically put his tail between his legs and backed down immediately.

  19. twobagelsanight

haha cooks washburn? It’s game 7 and Joe is already this overly sensitive.

Joe looks like an absolute weirdo in this exchange….

This guy is a dunce. What an awful reply. Yes, Joe, the team took too many threes. Over 50% of your shots tonight were threes and you shot less than 30% on those. Very unprofessional reply by him.
