We’re not the worst team in the league đŸ„ł

  2. RobertLobLaw2

I’ve seen enough. The mistakes are too much. Trade THT, Sexton, and Bolerjack immediately.

  3. ngmatt21

Collins is a beast and Clarkson is clutch

But this iso offense is killing me. I would think our team’s strength would be working the ball around and finding an open shot

11 assists from Keyonte is so fucking cool man, he has such a bright future ahead of him.

  5. Potterhead-PottHead

Key with 11 assists. Pretty incredible how this rookie is making such an impact in his first year.

  6. Andrewski18

    Collins-

    18 pts

    3 rebs

    4 blks

    5/6 FG

    3/3 3ptFG

That is an ABSURD stateline wtf

  7. That was the Jordan Clarkson experience to end all Jordan Clarkson experiences

    Last two games:

    Clarkson: 9 assists, 9 turnovers

    Sexton: 8 assists, 3 turnovers

    THT: 7 assists, 5 turnovers

    George: **20 assists**, 3 turnovers

I think it’s fair to say that Keyonte won the Hunger Games

    GAME NOTES:

I don’t get the purpose of this mid-season tourney. I’ve had it explained a few times and I just don’t see the reasoning why players should treat it as more than any other game.

Another Keyonte George start, and it didn’t disappoint. Although homie really struggled to shoot and score, 11 assists to 2 turnovers is amazing. Especially for a rookie. I’m amazed at his ability to command the ball for a guy who came out of college as a SG. He had 3 points, 2-12 shooting, 1-6 from 3. 7 points, 11 assists, 3 rebounds in 29 minutes.

Lauri was our top scorer, 26 points on 8-13 shooting. He continues to shoot the hell out of the 3 ball, 4-9 tonight. 7 rebounds to go with 1 assist, 2 steals, 2 blocks, and 3 turnovers. I wish we go to him more, he is insanely skilled and it feels like maybe nobody on the jazz realize it because I feel like we would run way more plays for him.

Clarkson had a bounceback game, 9-16 shooting, 1-6 from 3, and 6-6 from the line. He did have 4 assists and 3 turnovers, but finished with 26 points. He did have 2 steals and a block tonight. Big Clarkson game.

Collin Sexton actually played within our offense, and not within his own offense. He actually looked semi good out there. 10 points on 3-8 shooting, 4-4 from the line, and 6 assists to just 3 turnovers. I thought he played pretty well especially with how bad he’s been at tunnel vision. He still took stupid shots, but he was a willing passer tonight.

John Collins was very impressive tonight on both ends of the floor. 5-6 shooting, 3-3 from deep, 5-7 from the free throw line, 3 rebounds, 4 blocks. He was playing out of his mind, such a fun game from him to watch. His 3pt shooting downfall was greatly exaggerated.

Agbaji had his best game of the season, and a much needed one at that. He was looking to shoot! 15 points came from 6-8 from the field, 3-5 from 3, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 blocks. He wasn’t hesitant to shoot and it looked good out there.

THT also didn’t play too bad. 4-7, 3-5 from 3, 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, 1 turnover. Besides one bad shot and one bad turnover that was negated by a late whistle, he looked good out there. I think that it really helped that Sexton was playing within our system, and that Keyonte was insane with the passes, it opened it up for THT.

Olynyk with 6 points and 8 rebounds. Nothing to comment here, he was out there and impacted the game, but didn’t really do too many memorable things.

Same with Fontecchio. He hit both of his 3’s, and that’s all you can ask of him. I want to see more defensive effort, but he plays a max of 12 minutes, meaning it’s easy to hide him.

    3-7 (1-0 in the tourney)!

If George continues to be good at getting assists, he might be the Key for this team to be a contender in a few years

  11. Also no wonder Lauri likes the neon yellow jerseys the most, the dude basically needs a safety vest to get anyone else to notice him down the stretch.

  12. LoveBy137

I loved the assists from Keyonte, especially his play with Lauri.

“The Utah Jazz suck!” you say, “They’re 3-8, 14th place in the west. They look awful!”

“Au contraire,” I reply with a smile, “The Utah Jazz are 1-0 in the NBA IN-SEASON TOURNAMENTℱ and are now tied for 1st place in group ‘West A.’”

  14. rc_cola34

I know we won but coaching during that run was rough.

Why were we worried about bismack rolls? Leaving bane and kenard for open 3’s.

Once we stopped we sealed the game. Those 3’s turned into roddy shots he didn’t make.

I’m hesitant to blame hardy becuase last year was no fluke. To many players out and still winning games and too many new faces on coaching staff to think they aren’t still figuring it out.

On a positive note how bout 20 assists and 3 turnovers in 2 starts for key! Next step is looking for that shot.

Ochai really turned it on and John and lauri were fantastic.

    JC’s shot coming around too

First road win let’s build on it.

  15. mrcolty5

Ochai Agbaji is a permanent starter in my eyes. Only perimeter defender and he really showed up on the stat sheet for once

  16. JazzPlusEagles

Our starters were incredible. Keyonte, Clarkson, Ochai, Collins, Lauri.

  17. All the Jazz staters sans Keyonte shot above 50%. And Keyonte only had 2 turnovers, 1 of which was a questionable charge. Amazing!

  18. Drove down from Missouri and was there in Memphis tonight. Was an absolute war zone in my area. Had a ton of fun. Got to see a jazz win. I’m committed to going to every game for the rest of the season to ensure we win every omen

    Lauri looks amazing in person.

  19. cyianite

Love the way they played tonight despite Collins, Clarkson and Keyonte who put out their A++ game but overall I feel its an ugly win. They cant still control their TOs and their defense is still bad not to mention the Griz lost their 2 DOY guys in the game. Good thing JC took over the last mins with his clutch defense then the dagger. I feel they struggled on the board specially in 4thqt, they made look Biyombo an all star on rebounds, theres 1 play there were 3 players boxing Biyombo but they not able to secure the rebound.

A win is still a win, happy how they played tonight even they collasped in the 3rd where they lost the big margin of their lead.

    Post Game Thoughts:

First road win of the year! That game was very draining to watch as a fan. We should’ve won by 20+ but a win is a win.

The starting lineup looked great. Keyonte & Ochai has made the spacing and pace so much better. I would like to see Keyonte stay in til 3 mins left in 1st and 3rd. So we can have his vision in with one of THT & Sexton.

The turnovers were really bad again. This has got to change, we let the Grizzlies comeback from 20 down largely due to this.

Keyonte George literally looks like John Stockton reincarnated out there. Some of the passes he had tonight were nuts. The shot isn’t there yet, but I’m glad he was confident to take those shots at the end there. Great clutch experience for him.

Ochai breakout game was desperately needed. Awesome play on both ends. No notes.

Collins is just such a solid and reliable player. Shooting the 3 well, great defense, rebounding. Just so much to like.

Lauri played like Lauri. Refs need to watch how much teams are beating him up, my god.

JC starting to score the ball is very important for us. I love him but he does still need to chill with the turnovers and some of the shot selection could be better. But he showed up in the clutch, love to see it.

Sexton & THT should not continue playing together. I have never watched two players make worse decisions. They led the way in causing that Grizzlies comeback.
I think Sexton’s peripheral vision is blacked out and he can only see the hoop.

The guys get some much needed rest and practice until Tuesday. 1-0 in the NBA CUP baby!

  21. BuddhistMonk72

11 ast and 2 to is so sick from a rookie

  22. StretchFantastic

Keyonte again proving he’s the best option at pg on the roster and has the best court vision.
