We played the same way we did against Cleveland last week and expect something different.
We have no reliable second scorer after Steph. No one else gives me any confidence they can get the steady buckets to support Steph.
And it gets more brutal from here, more giants and Anthony Edwards to come with Wolves twice in a row and then an electric OKC twice in a row. Crikey
Both these Cleveland losses have looked nearly identical:
-close 1st quarter with a bad whistle
-2nd quarter refs decided that Cleveland is incapable of committing fouls until the final 2 minutes, Warriors get in the bonus early from ticky tack fouls, Cavs build a lead+momentum
-Warriors fight back in the 3rd to make it a close game
-Cavs pull away in the 4th because the Warriors ran out of gas getting back into the game
Draymond will be 40 years old and he’ll still get baited with the most simpke tricks. Just to talk about how he’s a mastermind and the difference between him and Dillon brooks is that he doesn’t fall for mental games or some bullshit. His self awareness is zero.
It’s time to make a change to the starting lineup
Ben Taylor
https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2023/3/22/23651787/nba-ref-demoted-fred-vanvleet-ben-taylor-video-explained
Draymond can’t control himself for the one millionth time.
steph needs some help man… we cannot rely on steph to get30+ pts on god like efficiency every night to win lmao
Steph has scored 20+ points in every game this season. 10 games in, he’s still the only Warriors player to achieve 20 points in a game this season. In 2023, with high scoring and 20+ ppg scorers all over the nba.
The dubs might be the only competent team with only one player able to consistently create a shot for themselves.
The 2022 ring was even crazier than Steph gets credit for imo. Their second best player was Andrew Wiggins. Klay was cold for most of the playoffs, Draymond was bad in games 1-4 of the finals and Poole went from nuclear vs denver to 12 ppg, 18 minutes in the finals because he couldn’t beat nobody off the dribble, nor guard nobody.
The narrative that Poole was a killer all playoffs is funny in how inaccurate it is too. They show his whole playoff stats with no context. He was amazing vs campazzo, monte morris with a gassed Jokic in the first round. He killed Memphis in game 1. After that he wasn’t good.
I ended up rambling lol, but yes, if having 2023 klay and wiggs as your second and third option is not ideal with the amount of superstars/ all nba level offensive talents in the league, both struggling(Wiggs beyond that))+at the same time is a recipe for disaster.
What do y’all see in this team that makes you think they can beat teams like Denver?
Klay and Wiggins are actively hurting the team, Wiggs being absolutely horrific(I know his situation after the rib injury). They are also somehow playing even worse than what the already sad statline shows. Dubs record is still decent despite that, but the burden is going to be too heavy unless they figure it out soon.
It’s also not only that they’re missing shots, it’s the anemic effort and poor iq. If they’re involved in any sort of loose ball or fought rebound, they’ll come up empty. It’s hard to root for them when you see the effort guys like Gp2, Podz, Moody, etc play with every damn play.
sad
Criminal not to give tjd meaningful minutes
So, what does this team do to get to contender status?
On the pre-season, I mentioned how we have a bench now and the starters woes will not be a concern.
It seems that it is now biting the team back.
A genuine second option would be nice.
Can the starters provide Steph some help!? It’s absurd no player other than Steph has scored 20+ in any game this season.
If we’re not careful..we’ll be looking at .500 real quick! Come back strong tomorrow Dubs! Y’all got this 💙💛
Klay isn’t consistent and Wiggins dawg card expired.. The warriors don’t have that reliable second option. They have the depth probably the best depth in the league but it’s apparent without that Second option, the depth is essentially useless against athletic/quick lengthy teams who rely heavily on their starters
After Dray’s 2nd tech, we should be seeing opponents get a million techs & Steph shoot a million FTs with the way he gets mauled off the ball, since reviews can go back so far in time now! I need one of our players to go full FVV 🙏
Also maybe it’s time for Kerr to try something different 🤷♂️
Ben Taylor is a basketball terrorist
Our core looks old out there, especially came fourth quarter when we ran out of gas, maybe insert Jk or Mo into the starting lineup and close lineup.
I’m terrified that Steph will get hurt. He is absolutely CARRYING and I have no idea who could step up in his absence. Wiggins energy is just off I hope he’s ok behind the scenes
TJD, Mr. Always Positive (in the +/-), aka Mr. Never getting into the rotation.
Kerr has to rotate starters if there’s any hope in making these dudes work harder. So many times in the 3rd and 4th with Klay and Wiggins not even with their hands up, walking around while play is still going on. If dudes are too tired to work, they shouldn’t be on the court.
This team is not a contender currently constructed. Too many holes and no explosive scorer outside of Steph.
So we pull within 8 in the last minute+ with the bench still on the court, and Cory Joseph makes a couple of horrible plays when they actually had a shot of getting it closer…and he’s laughing and shaking his head at his decisions?
He should be getting reemed out by Kerr and the bench. That was atrocious effort.
Desperately need a proper 2nd option to help Steph out and more importantly Kerr needs to stop fucking about with rotations. Stop playing Steph, Klay and CP3 together shit isn’t going to work man
Our bench is killing it this year. That’s the only reason this game was close. Moody is hitting that third year breakout and Kuminga is being much more aggressive.
I watched Klay call an iso on Caris Levert today and pull out every move in his bag. He couldn’t even get past the arc and got blocked as the shot-clock expired. By Caris Levert.
If that was Poole last year, he wouldn’t have touched the ball again for the rest of the game. Klay does not deserve to be starting at this point
Let Boston, Philly and Milwaukee deal with these MFs from now on
Starters have a net rating of -19.3.
Rough loss and November is only going to get tougher from here
We lost the same way against the same team not giving TJD more minutes against this team is a crime at this point.
looking old and slow out there tonight.
We’ve not got a number two scoring option and at this stage I’m not even sure Klay and Wiggins are playing like a number three scoring option.
This team is going absolutely no where if no one else can break 20 pts….
Klay and wiggins defense are horrible to watch. And there were too many careless TOs.
this okc/twolves x2 stretch is big for staying on the right track
Negative Side of the Season will be: running too many guards together, not getting a 7 foot vet(s), Klay problems, Wiggins might never wake up, and turnovers.
Hope some of these things are fixed.
Imma repost my comment from GT-
Was this the ugliest NBA game this year, or the ugliest NBA game of ALL TIME?
i dont know whats worse, klay and wiggin’s performance, or kerr’s insistence on playing them when there are better players on the bench sitting because of pecking order
That was a gutcheck game. Puts things more in perspective now. We not as good as we thought
I’ve been super optimistic about Klay and Wiggins when other people were putting them down.
Something needs to change. These are suppose to be your 2 and 3, giving you buckets and quality defense. They’ve been giving Steph absolutely nothing since that Lakers series where they were terrible too.
I love Klay Thompson, man. I’m Soooo happy that he got that ring in 22, it was absolutely magical. But he’s done. Maybe not done hoopin, but being one of your main guys on a team going for a chip? Nah.
And who knows what the heck is going on with Wiggins.
Warriors need a legit second option to put next to Steph. Don’t waste these prime years, man. Make a move, dubs.
Klay is the number one problem. Wiggins is the number two problem. Looney is number three
Why has GP2 been getting so few minutes??
