Wouldn’t hurt to ask and inquire what the asking price is. Honestly, his contract would be a tough pill to swallow but he would definitely help spacing and late game scoring. A guy like Lavine would have to buy in to the system and I’m not too confident in that though.
agulde28
Do they want fultz/carter/picks? If so sure
Gsmith930
Would take at least 3-4 salaries to match. Some combo of Fultz/Suggs/Isaac/Harris + picks
TheAnswerEK42
No! For the millionth time no, he is one of the most overrated players in the league.
He takes the ball away from Paolo and sucks on defense
whtge8
I might be lower on Lavine than most of y’all. Streaky af shooter with poor defense. Wouldn’t want to give up too much for him.

Effective_Owl_17
Fultz, chuma, Howard, 1 1st, 2 2nds. All he gotta do is play average defense and hit his threes

No thanks already robbed Gordon his dunk contest

I think the cost would be too high, would require picks for sure on top of matching salary. Maybe unpopular but I think he might be too ball dominant to fit with Paolo and Franz. Not sure how he would feel about a smaller role and being primarily a shooter.
I sincerely doubt it’s something we get involved in though.

Are you people insane? His contract is an albatross and he would want to be the first option on this team.

I think we need a pure shooter who can play some defense. I don’t think we need someone who drives/wants the ball in their hands. We need a Desmond bane or mikal bridges type player, with a fallback of someone like Anfernee Simons (pure shooter but not as good of a defender).
Ice--O
With Franz and paolo taking most of the shots and cole off the bench don’t know if they makes quiet as much sense. Much rather have some 3 and d player to complement our existing pieces

I’d pass. He doesn’t fit our timeline at all. Trading for a soon to be 29 year old shooting guard who relies a lot on athleticism to pair with our 21/22 year old core sounds like a huge risk that I don’t believe is worth taking. The scoring and spacing would help our offense for sure but I don’t think he moves the needle very far for us.

Bringing in Lavine could potentially derail what Orlando is building, he’s not the caliber player to push Orlando forward.
He doesn’t play defense, is injury prone, inconsistent offensively, and shrinks in big moments.
Imo it’s best to keep what we have for now and see how the players develop.
For all we know in a year or 2 Jett or Jalen could be better than him.
If we are to make a trade, like others have said I’d prefer some 3 and D role players.
InterestingArm3750
Pass. Not a fan of Lavine. He thinks he’s a star when he’s really a third option. We need 3 and D, not ball hogs.
thefabulous23
Don’t think it would hurt to try and ask but I wouldn’t overpay.
He’s had massive efficiency problems so far this season, his contract is massive and I don’t know how on-board he would be with being a third option on the team (or at least eventually becoming one). Other than last year he also hasnt had a single 70 game season which makes me doubt he’d stay healthy while here. I know it might be just being paranoid but the last couple of years hasnt left me exactly trusting the Magic to keep players in good health and recovering fast.
ballknower407
Yes. No hesitation, just like Lavine’s trigger
kmagic13
Yes but isn’t he dealing with knee problems the past few years? Or am I thinking of someone else
maursupial
I’m only giving up Fultz, Gary, Chuma, Caleb, and the 5 seconds that we have from other teams plus the Denver Pick. I don’t think Lavine is worth going all in, but he definitely is worth this package.
FLman42069
We need guys who can shoot and play defense, we have playmakers. We need an elite shooter who can defend the guard position. I think suggs can be a starting guard if he’s paired with an elite shooter.
UnhousedFeline
Injury concerns, lack of defense, terrible contract….kind of streaky.

All-NBA offensive ability
There are reasons it makes sense, but overall I don’t like it.
Commodore_Narwhal
No. There’s no reason to make this move, especially for Lavine. Horrible contract, injury concerns, bad defender why would we want him? Yea he can shoot but I don’t think him messing up our defense is worth it
mondale_lewis
From the people who said Okeke is better than Gordon, and also said we should trade for Anfernee Simons, and also said we should trade for Jordan Poole, and also said we should trade Jonathan Isaac for (and I quote) a bag of chips, now are saying we should trade for Zach Lavine.
I’ll pass.

Nah. Franz and Paolo are determining the timeline. Why go after a 28 year old player in his prime, when the best players will reach theirs in 2-3 years?
Go after some experienced role players, as well as shooters without giving up serious assets and give the core some time to develop.
Then once they are ready to compete, go after the missing piece with all the assets available.
Residual-Heat
Id pass. Thats a huge contract there, and i dont love the fit with the Magic. Would rather trade for a starting PG.
