[Buha/The Athletic] LAL aren’t interested in including Austin Reaves in a potential Zach LaVine deal. The most likely framework of a LaVine deal would center around D.Russell, who waived his implied no-trade clause over the offseason, and feature Hachimura or Vincent as additional matching salary.

if Rui gets traded, 100% he gonna blow up and be like randle, BI, clarkson, etc.

  2. bigball3r23

I don’t understand the Reaves is untouchable but Dlo can be traded. Dlo is better and more important than reaves

  3. pinktwhite

Why don’t we see if Rui can be consistent with 10 shots a night first?

  4. Creative_Category_21

Lavine isn’t even better than Dlo this year lol

We would have to be betting on Dlo disappearing in the playoffs which is a safe assumption, but Lavine has only played 4 playoff games. Obviously his game is better suited for playoff basketball than Dlo but man, what a high risk move this would be

Get Caruso and DFS or Gafford. That’s all we need

  5. blacPanther55

Buha is a Reaves Stan so I don’t really trust him on this. But if it’s true then the Lakers are idiots. Why trade wing depth? Rui would breakout if given the chance. A Lavine/Reaves backcourt would be terrible defensively .

  6. SeeingThings123

Bro can we just maintain our depth please? Chasing more stars is just not how you win chips anymore.

  7. blacPanther55

Lavine is good offensively but him and Reaves would be food defensively as a backcourt. They would need to get Caruso as well.

    Caruso

    Lavine

    Vando

    Bron

    AD

Is very nice but I’m still not a fan of trading Rui.

  8. lotrtt824

We all know they are all gonna end up on the clippers

  9. Klaxosaur

Buha is talking? That means it’s never gonna happen.

  10. broke_boi1

Sure, LaVine is better offensively than DLo, but what is LaVine’s injury history? I feel like he’s had several medium/long term injuries over his career

  11. WildWing_93

Why in the world would we trade Russell for Lavine? Lavine makes twice the salary D’Lo does (soon to be 2.5 to 3x the salary) to get 2-3 PPG more…. On less efficiency… with worse playmaking… and same issues defensively.. that makes ZERO sense. Oh, and the injury history. NO THANK YOU.

  12. HowSoonIsMeow-

I need to read the full article, I don’t trust anyone quoting Buha without the context.

  13. Miss-Mamba

it’s so annoying that we don’t just work on developing what we have and we continually chase big names, knowing it all ends up the same way!

we have a decent squad now, and the only person i wish we can trade is Darvin Hamas

  14. Ok_Huckleberry_3833

New rule: if your not going to play him then trade him

  15. gbcolor2024

So trade both our PGs for a SG? wtf would the depth even look like?

  16. MrAppleSpoink

If we trade for LaVine I’m not watching a single game for the rest of the season.

  17. kezzinchh

This ain’t the trade we need. We need a god damn big.

  18. Lavine is not that good lol. Barely better than Dlo

  19. Tall_Succotash

People don’t like buha reporting but I saw his interview with Jason tiemp and if anything he deff knows within the team and organization they’re invested in AR for sure, to the point that some people weren’t even all too happy with AR going to the bench (my pick is Lebron lol)

So a trade like that was never on my mind lol. And honestly this sort or trade with bulls depends on what they’re looking for. They don’t have a PG straight up, and they need to think about picks and younger players.

  20. Temporary-Move7403

Zach’s 28. Zach’s points is 21. Zach’s shooting is 40%, and 3 points is 33% this year. Zach’s contract is max contract for 4 years. Injury bone and history . Zach’s defense isn’t sense. Zach is more like bradley beal. Bulls wants to tank.

  21. Every year we gotta deal with all these trade rumors. Man why can’t we just stick with the young guys and let them develop – instead of chasing for a third star.

  22. Trade an inconsistent guard who can’t play for an inconsistent guard who can’t play defense and has no value when it comes to playmaking and we’re going to trade part of our depth. Dum trade

  23. hungrywantmooshoo

It does not even make sense to trade for Lavine without Reaves being involved. I’m not rolling out a Lavine/Reaves backcourt. The lineup makes much better sense with a closing 5 of Lavine, Cam/Vando/prince, Bron, Rui, AD

  24. AntSmith777

I mean if Ham never gonna play Rui anyway…

  25. Knickert19

I did praise pelinky a lot after the last tradeperiod BUT if he includes rui in a trade to get a third wannabe Star wich in this case is a injury prone guy over his peak i might just go back to straight up habe the guy again. Give rui some fucking more Minutes and see/realize this will be a super stupid trade. Lavine at least imo has not much to offer what we dont have allready

  26. BearShark8

What would the trade be for LaVine and Caruso? DLo, Rui, Christie, JHS, a first, and two swaps? Kinda ugly.

  27. chaosworld6

Trade Rui, he is just riding the bench. Hamas does not know how to use him.

  28. thesonicvision

**It actually does make sense to trade Rui if we can’t give him more minutes.**

**In fact, that’s the perfect scenario for trading a player like Rui:**

    * player’s stock/perception is high, as they’re relatively young and have played well recently
    * player has a good-sized salary
    * player is good, but doesn’t fit perfectly on current team due to particular stylistic/positional needs (e.g. no team needs 4 great players who do exactly the same thing; best to trade two of them for greats at other positions)
    * current team can’t figure out appropriate minutes/lineups for the player

If we want a true 3rd option (who actually could easily be a 1st option), **then we have to give up something good**. That’s how trades work. Can’t keep everything.

**Some combination of Rui, AR, D-lo, picks, and key role players is gonna have to go.**

  29. CabbageStockExchange

I just don’t get a good feeling trading for Lavine. That feels like it’s going to bite us in the ass

  30. litlegoblinjr

Lol if they do this, we’ll gut the team just like we did for Westbrook

  31. If the team is healthy and it ain’t working by January then fuck it trade DLO Vincent and anyone except AR and RUI

  32. ResponseInitial

Zach LaVine is such an injury risk and our two top players are also – only a fool would do this

  33. xblade69

This would be the stupidest decision the lakers could make this season
