I don't know if the hit and run really happens to him. But. Let me tell you a really story. I'm from and live in Philly just a few months ago I saw with my own eyes a man get hit by a car and fly in the air. I ran down the street two blocks to a cop in his car. He made a call and sat there… I yelled at him that the man it hurt bad.. he told me relax help is in the way… Later that day on the news fox 29 man founded died from a hit and run. I'm telling y'all they don't care in Philly. It's more about drug and gun crimes they care about. And we have a LOT of that.
I like looking at the psychology of sports and I think it's odd, that you have Joel Embiid who is a superstar, recent MVP, face of the franchise so willingly saying that Tyrese Maxey is the future of the Sixers and that this will be his team, that to me, sounds like someone who is mentally already checked out and preparing himself to leave the 76ers, do you think Jordan, LeBron, etc ever said something like that about a Pippen or a Kyrie, hell nah, cause it was THEIR team, just my two cents.

Whats sad is that the gossip is coming from so called "grown men" and the fact that Pompey is sitting here saying things like "he MIGHT be telling the truth" is the toxicity running rampant in social media. Oubre gets hit off his bike goes to the hospital & traumatized and doesn't know the area but these clowns are gossiping about his accident. My dad got hit by car in Philly in March 2023 and died 2 weeks later. On a busy street in daylight hours. It’s November and Philly Police still have not found the driver responsible for killing my dad. Philly police are trash when it comes to investigating crime

My cousin was hit off of his bike in Philadelphia as well (lost all of his teeth and not able to use his right arm) and the cops haven’t been able to find the person that hit him either…that city has some of the deadliest energy in the country period

If Anyone was hit or barely hit by a vehicle, I would think that they would call for help or police. If I didnt call the police , my spouse would have been first. Did he ride the bike home with broken ribs and WHO did he call from being hit on the street to home? Who?

You know to be honest everyone is so quick to judge Kelly Oubre but a) by the time cops questioned him he had gone home and his wife had called the cops, meaning he physically went through a traumatic experience on some street then went home then was later interviewed at the hospital and or days later. Secondly – do you know if riding a bike is not allowed as part of their contract or not? Third medical staff and personnel are also pretty adept at determining if a person presenting with certain symptoms is lying. I remember when I worked t a children’s hospital some people would claim one story but hospital personnel would be highly suspicious of abuse, so the fact that medical staff didn’t raise any questions also speaks for itself. Additionally what else would cause lacerations, and bruises to thigh and hip area and a chest/rib hit? It logically makes sense that a car clipped him the same general area top to bottom would be affected. And lastly until the police find proof to DISPROVE his claims his story should not be questioned. They can easily also trace back surveillance footage of him going back to his house around that time and also look for anything else t hat could’ve caused it what route he followed to get home. If they can see on camera him riding his bike into something or him meeting up with someone prior to the incident that would be substantial and provable proof he was lying. Not finding what was potentially a quick car injury on surveillance is just not sufficient.
It’s honestly a shame that law enforcement chose to make those public comments and potentially put him through more trauma if he was actually hit by car. Imo they shouldn’t have released anything until they could prove it wasn’t true or had strong evidence suggesting it isn’t, and maybe they do who knows
Imo this is where we are missing another star. Joel last season was able to sit out more games because James harden was playing and they could still pull through. This year it’s harder for just maxey and Tobias to carry the load.
