CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla addressed the media following the Boston Celtics’ narrow 121-118 defeat to the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night. The loss ended the Celtics’ impressive six-game winning streak. Jayson Tatum led all scorers with 45 points but missed a crucial free throw with just 5.2 seconds remaining that could have tied the game.
“Regardless, we have to take something from each game,” Mazzulla said. “It’s our first overtime game. It’s our first time we’ve blown a lead. We have to go back and understand why we did. That comes from taking plays off and not finishing possessions. Credit to Charlotte for continuing to play hard the whole time.”

Tatum was play watchin all night barely played 1 on 1 defense , when he did his guys were just going by him, Didnt see a lot of effort on that side of the ball and we will NOT win shit if we don’t stay disciplined on defense
How poor is the offense in e clutch. How many times does the ball go to Jaylen Brown for a iso mid range or 3 pointer that is heavily contested. Even the isolation for JT at the end of regulation was a stupid decision.

same old shit like last season: subpar defense and lack of execution in crunch time cost Celtics the game. All this talk from Joe about the Defense before the start of the season is useless. The players have to prove it on the floor that they have taken a step forward defensively compared to last season.
