I can hear a few people trying to control their vomiting, but ima let you cook. This defense is legit, have one of the best bench units in the league, we are 9-5 and 5th in the east, have played a brutally difficult schedule, and have had 2 starters out for the majority of it so far. I know you can’t say all of that is coaching, but I’m sure as fuck not gonna act like none of it is.

I was a massive hater of this dude so I gotta give him his flowers. They have never stopped playing hard for him. Even when we were having to play g league guys starter minutes they were always giving their all. His strategy and lineup composition is getting better year after year. I’m just gonna let bro cook from now on and trust the process. COTY

I wasn’t a fan the first two years. I understand the players have always liked him. However, the rotations were a mess and the offense was stagnant. But towards the end of last year he started to figure some things out. Subbing Cole to play with MF first to get warmed up before it turned into the Cole show, giving Franz and Paolo each a turn as the guy while the other rests. The rotations have been good to great this year. Starting Goga when Dell went down may not have been obvious to everyone, as I’m sure some questioned why Moe W simply didn’t slide into the starting spot. Lastly, he is constantly talking on defense. That voice you hear on tv screaming, “show your hands!” That’s coach. Players are bought in. He still makes mistakes (gotta work on throse challenges) but he’s growing with this young team. COTY typically goes to the HC of a team who makes an unexpected leap, and if we keep up this pace, that’ll be us.

Can we just contemplate how last year as a rookie Paolo’s defense was a red flag and we fell apart defensively without WCJ. Now this year, without WCJ, this team just completely decimated the #1 offense in the league and then systematically dissected Toronto tonight.
I mean, you can talk about Suggs, Black and Isaac’s one-on-one skills, but team defense is absolutely a coaching thing and we are absolute monsters!

Mosely has gotten so much hate on this sub. People have totally ignored that we have a #1 defense (!!!!!) with him. He’s had to make an offense out of a team with not a lot of shooting at all.
With this defense we are definitely making the play in at least, and a lot of it is Mosely’s game plan. I’m glad people are finally starting to wake up

Most of the criticisms are a bit silly anyway, can clean up specific X’s and O’s stuff but can’t control free throws being missed or players missing open shots or a loud amount of the fanbase acting like Jett Howard was our missing piece. It’s strange in the NBA fan world how every loss or other team going on a run is on the coach but every big lead or good shooting night is on the players when for the most part, unless you’re running some egregious offense and terrible lineups, most of the bad stuff is on the players too.. especially if you have 12+ games of data of the good stuff they CAN do. Coaches aren’t suddenly switching that up and telling them to suck. Sometimes you can change the lineup and the others will suck too, that’s the NBA.
A lot of the rotations have been tweaked slightly, but not entirely different lately. They’re just actually playing better now. He’s continuing to play them together so they have consistency and he shows belief in them.
He’s getting them to play hard and together with 2, 3, 4 starters and rotational pieces out every game and a roster that is deep, but offensively flawed. About all you could ask for.
