No Jimmu Butler, Bam Adabeyo, Duncan Robinson or Tyler Herro for Miami. Translation, no excuses for the Brooklyn Nets on a Saturday night at Barclays.
Cameron Johnson provided a flurry of threes early, while Nic Claxton continued his dominant defensive play.
Spencer Dinwiddie continued his table setting role, and Mikal Bridges backed up his 45-point performance with another strong game.

Good bounce back game!
Brooklyn came into tonight looking to play a complete four quarters and get the win against a gritty Heats squad.
The story was definitely the play of The Twins Mikal Bridges
(24 points )and Cam Johnson (19 points)who both had solid offensive performances.
Johnson was even better tonight with some solid defense and a solid 10 rebounds as well 🔥…
Nic Claxton had a little injury scare but came back out and had a solid offensive night…
Spencer Royce and Dorian all had solid outings and kept the offensive rhythm going…
Overall a solid team win and a quick one coming tomorrow against the Bulls. Let's go 😎 🔥🔥….
Fun sequence with the rooks. Clowney nice rebound and Whitehead a nice point.
Spencer Dinwiddie has had a varying role over the course of his 9+ years in the NBA. With injuries to point guards Ben, and DSJ, he's had to assume more of a role in the offense. He provides a veteran leadership, as the starting point guard, that's hard to replace at this point in the season. He's been effective in isolation and the pick-and-role plays, throughout his career, which makes him especially valuable in the half court. Since it's a pipe dream to think Ben is going to return and be healthy for the remaining of the season, Dinwiddie's detractors should shut the hell up about trading him because we don't have and can't replace him for the same price he's getting now. We're not going over the luxury tax threshold for that. They should, also, shut the hell up about firing JV. He haven't even reach the halfway point of his 1st season of a 4 year contract and his record, so far, is respectable, all things considered.
It's ironic that the contingent of the Nets fan base that enjoy trashing JV, enjoy trashing Dinwiddie as well. Hopefully they realize that the Nets have achieved their objective so far this season. They've been competitive, flexible, and most importantly, stayed out of repeaters luxury tax hell. Taking into consideration we've had absences because of injuries to Cam Johnson, Claxton, Ben, Cam Thomas, and DSJ, I tip my hat to Jacque Vaughn and his staff. .
Sad is .. people saying NETS won cause player sat for the HEAT. The fact The NETS had so many injuries to start the season. Got no sympathy then so will take this win
As a Heat fan I want to apologize for my team. The Nets are a good team and deserved more respect than whatever it was we threw out on the court tonight
Napoleon Hill was a flim flam man!!
We needed this WIN 🥇
It was good to see the Nets do what they needed to do last night. I am happy to see Mikal and Cam Johnson coming into form. Hopefully Cam Thomas … sporting a new doo… will return to action soon.
Hate to be talking about KD on a win, but it ALL falls back to him (and his relationship with 11). People forget that one of the murmurs back then, even before the vaccine-mandate, was Kyrie sitting out because of 1/6 event. (and turns out, a family birthday gathering). There were several articles that had come out around then that the Nets already had concerns about being able to count on Kyrie (which proved to be accurate, after future events), and made the swing for Harden.
On Claxton's future that was brought up in previous pod, I think Sean will bring him back. 1) they can't rely on Ben, 2.) I think its pretty clear what Marks' vision is — and that is to pair Nic with the vision they see of Clowney ( a big who can rebound some, switch some, block some, and stretch some). That would push down CJ to his more natural SF position instead of PF, and Mikal at SG. Then it's just a matter of finding that future PG
