I said Scoot would be better off playing off the bench to start the season. People here downvoted me.
He’s having his best, most efficient game. And it’s off the bench.
Simons, Shae, and Brogdon were better candidates to start. Shaedon had a better summer league and strong end to the season. He earned the starting spot. It’s good for culture.
Having Scoot come off the bench when he missed most of summer league lets him ease into it. He’s not dealing with starting PGs night in night out for 35 mins a game. He can play with Brogdon next to him.
Basketball is simple. It’s not the NFL. It’s not even the NHL. When stuff is obvious just make the obvious decision. Don’t Stan Van Gundy it.
