Draymond says he will never change the way he plays & will always defend his teammates but he has to grow to ensure he stays on the court to help his team. Didnt say he regrets his actions “What matters to me is how the people that I care about first & foremost, who are affected…what do they think”

So do you care about what your coach said about how violence doesn’t belong in the NBA. And love how he’s acting like everything he’s ever done comes down to protecting a teammate and not his own b*******.

  2. bro got some anger management issues but dray is still my guy, glad hes coming back cus we are ass defensively

  3. Did he say he “didn’t regret his actions” or did he just not mention anything about regret one way or the other? Those are two very different things. The former would also seem to run counter to Slater’s reporting after the incident in which he said “Sources in the locker room said Green apologized and displayed contrition. He told the team his intentions were pure — protecting his teammate — but he took it too far.”

And before the trolls jump down my throat, I’m genuinely looking for clarity since the didn’t regret his actions part wasn’t reported as a direct quote nor was it something added via editorializing by the other reporters covering/reporting his comments.

Edit to add in case anyone is curious: After watching his full comments, the subject of regret was addressed in its entirety via the exchange below. What he actually said (which is a valid stance by which many people live) is not as inflammatory/dgaf sounding as it was made to sound:

Q: “Do you regret it at all?”

A: “I don’t live my life with regrets.”

He goes on to add the following:

“Like I said before, I’ll come to a teammate’s defense any time that there’s a, I’m in a position to come to a teammate’s defense. That’s what a team is. You stick together through the good and the bad, and I take that to heart. I take pride in being a good teammate. That’s when I step in here every single day. That’s number one on my list, to be a good teammate. Number one, I think that takes care of a lot of things. So I take pride in that, and reflected over on the whole incident.

I think for me is, you know, you kind of go through the whole gauntlet of everybody having an opinion, and you listen to those opinions or not. Some people’s opinion I hear, some people’s opinion I don’t. And you know, I think for me, and going through it is like, what matters to me, and what matters to me is how the people that I care about feel, first and foremost. How are the people that I care about affected? How are the people that I care about, what do they have to deal with? I think that’s it for me.

Now, I think when going through this, the way the media portray you is like, you’re supposed to like crack or something, and that’s not going to be me. So you’ve got people out there talking and bumping their gums, and you just kind of sit there and ride with it. I think the one thing that I always come to in these moments is like, things are never as good as they seem, they’re never as bad as they seem. So you kind of go through these moments, and they feel like the world is collapsing on you, and everything is coming to an end, and what are you going to do, and it’s just never as bad as it seems.”

  4. Draymond is 33. It’s his 12th year in the league. It’s the same shit every single time. That edge is what makes him great. It’s also his downfall. He is who he is. There’s no change of growth coming.

The coach let him know what he thinks on day one. Draymond get the hint, we’re sick of your fucking antics. Yeah we got no choice but to roll with you but this is ridiculous bro.

The duality of Draymond. Better to get the suspension early and hopefully learn before the playoffs. It feels like this was inevitable, but at least it wasn’t down the line.

We need him bad, not just defense but his playmaking too.

Going to get downvoted for this. Of course he will say this. The game is being played in public. No one is getting killed or maimed. Teams win without a thug.
He is deflecting his inability to control himself on his mindless babble about “the team.” He is a smart man and outside of this aspect of his character, an incredible asset to his teammates Everyone, including himself, would be better off if he played and learned to walk away when he loses it. Everyone also knows this isn’t going to happen.
