Nikola Jokic on Wembanyama: ‘He’s 19 years old, he’s not getting tired or getting scared. He’s playing hard and he wants to be good. He’s making mistakes, which is normal … He’s going to change the game, 100%. (So) just enjoy and watch the show and let the guy change the game.’

Just think, a decade from now he’ll be in his prime still and he’s already making a lasting impression on today’s superstars.

This seems like an uncharacteristically long and detailed response from Jokic. He must really have faith in him

    > he’s not getting tired

Jokic cant attest to how valuable that is lol

Nah r/nba fans have seen enough already. He isn’t averaging a quadruple double with blocks so he must be terrible. Should’ve picked Chet!

Jokic spitting wisdom bars over here.

Jokic is right, I still feel he’s being used so badly on the field. No true pick and roll plays to help with his development. Seems to be out of position or ignored by teammates a lot. Not sure if it’s a coaching issue or just teammates not knowing dude is freaking 7-some 🤦🏾‍♂️.

Wemby’s motor is underrated. Dude will block a shot and be the first person down the court to the other end

I’m very high on Wemby but I wish people would stop saying stuff like he’s gonna change the whole game of basketball, seems like unnecessary pressure

I do not think he will change the game. Unless he has a formula for everyone to be seven foot plus. 🙂

Pop is wasting Wemby’s potential. Play him with a real PG FFS!!

Someday I would love to see evidence of what a mistake and what is not. Old heads, coaches and analysts always associate the word mistake with rookies and I honestly have no clue what that means. I see old ass NBA players turn the ball over or make a bad pass or take a bad shot, are those not mistakes also? I have seen Jrue holiday and CP3 make shitty plays, but no one says those are mistakes, it’s just when rookies do them, right?

How many game changing prodigies are we going to get? I’m just trying to get one ring, fuck.

Wemby and Tatum are already so good at 19 I can’t wait to see how their careers turn out

During like week 2 of the season I saw some talking head on ESPN talking about if Wemby’s inconsistencies and 3 point shooting struggles are going to be a problem for him, and the only thing I could think was “he’s’ like 10 games into his rookie season, let the dude figure things out.”

I know expectations for him are high, and he’s already performing exceptionally, but he’s still a rookie. Let him get comfy in the league and find his rhythm.

Part of the reason Joking changed the game was because he wasn’t looking to. I don’t know why everyone is putting such pressure on this guy.

Amazing how one of the best players in NBA history can have a reasonable take about the guy. Not that hard to do.

He’s totally right. The haters need to chill on Wemby. He’s going to be fine
