Kenny Smith on Draymond Green: “There is no more apologizing… At 22, 23, 24 years old, you can keep apologizing. But at this stage of his career, and a champion, we should be out of the apology stages of his career… He keeps crossing [the line].”

Agreed. Apologies and “owning up” mean jackshit after a while.

  3. SockVonPuppet

You know who apologizes at this stage of their careers? Clowns.

  4. rectalrocket42

You might say he’s a habitual line-stepper (RIP charlie murphy)

  5. Atmosguisher

I was not expecting a rational take about their pal on Inside the NBA, good shit Kenny

The most crucial part of an apology isn’t the apology. A sorry is meaningless unless you say that you won’t repeat the mistake again.

  7. kenny gotta get rid of the beard man. what the hell is that.

  8. the_moosen

I gave Kenny some shit earlier when he said this and admittedly I only half heard his take

This is much better said now that I heard it in full

Apologize for collaring a crazed Frenchman? What has this country come to? No one remembers all the double crosses

  10. wazupbro

why did he do a 180, kenny was defending the guy after the game

  11. LaBodaDelHuitlacoche

He keeps crossing the line cuz they keep moving it for him lol

Draymond about to jeopardize his future too gonna go on his podcast and talk smack about Kenny and TNT 😂

  12. Fr0_oz3n

Did he apologize? Thought he said he didn’t regret it.

Man i’m just glad to see some Kenny praise in this thread. People always say TNT don’t need him when literally almost all the classic stuff that happened in Inside was because of him instigating.

  16. Kenny Smith may be the world champion of terribly articulating solid arguments.

Speak for yourself Kenny, I don’t love that chest stomper

  18. Kershiskabob

This just in: Draymond has walked into the studio and punched Kenny in the face

Draymond agrees completely. He doesn’t apologize.

He doesn’t really care about this. He thinks him going over the line is fine since the Warriors still win.

  20. Why would Draymond change?

MSU and Coach Izzo gave him no reason to when Draymond sucker punched Jermaine Edmunson (cornerback for the football team) in the face, was arrested, went to jail and later charged for assault.

The Warriors, Myers, and Coach Kerr give no reason for Draymond to change after sucker punching and knocking out a teammate, telling KD you’re a bitch, you’ve always been a bitch and you know it. We don’t need you. Leave. He’s kicked people in the balls causing them to lose a championship after his suspension. He’s poked people in the eyes, stomped on their chest, screamed at refs in their face. He’s been rewarded with extensions, new contracts and millions of dollars. He wasn’t suspended for the KD issue, he wasn’t suspended for Poole. He’s a child that’s never been told No or disciplined.

When you listen to him speak after each event, he takes zero accountability, blames other people, and says he’s going to continue be him and that will never change. There’s no growth as a person there. He has the emotional IQ of a terrible two toddler, couple that with a nasty temper and you get this wack job with little self awareness. He’s gonna keep acting out and the Warriors will continue to act like the shocked parents that enabled him from the beginning.

And yet here we are upvoting it and glorifying it

  22. onamonapizza

The problem is that he isn’t given proper consequences for his actions, so who expects him to do any different? He already says he is who he is and isn’t going to change.

Instead, he wants to play it off like the victim…”I paid my dues. Oh, I got suspended for Game 5 of the Finals”

Yes, you got suspended for your repeated actions, and those actions continue to escalate to the point of you jumping on people and choking them out on the court and the league still gives him a slap on the wrist.

If he is going to act like a child, he needs to be treated like one and put in a LOOOONG time out.

refs are being sensitive and trigger happy this season, they should especially be exercising that on Draymond, given his history and propensity for dirty plays. keep ejecting him for the slightest offence, till he learns not to keep stepping on the line. he should’ve lost his special treatment card 10 years ago already

Here’s how much a player is fined for a technical foul in the NBA:

Technical fouls 1-5: $2,000 fine each

Technical fouls 6-10: $3,000 fine each

Technical fouls 11-15: $4,000 fine each

Technical foul 16: $5,000 fine + one game suspension

Each additional technical foul: $5,000 fine

Each two additional technical fouls (18, 20, etc.): $5,000 fine + one-game suspension

this isn’t too steep. the NBA needs to steep it up. chump change for players earning millions. make the fines work as percentages, instead absolute amounts. suspensions should begin at the first tier, and multiply from there in the next stages. resulting in ejection from the league if you hit a high mark, say 20 techs.
