The first matchup of the season between these Eastern Conference rivals is sure to be a big one. The Raptors first 2 playoff memories back in the Vince Carter era came against the Knicks, and the current clubs have a lot of history already.

For starters, the Knicks sued the Raptors this past offseason due to allegations that Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic and Ike Azotam conspired to steal priprietary player and scouting information from the Knicks. Add in a healthy dose of Siakam and Randle comparisons over the years as the NBA community debates which ALL-NBA forward is more mid, and Scottie Barnes telling Quintin Grimes he is NOT HIM.. yeah there’s some beef here, and thankfully that might serve as a BIT of inspiration for a team that has often looked.. uninspired?
The Raptors are coming off an impressive win over the Phoenix Suns on the second half of a back to back. Let’s see what happens.

Rob, how do you think Norman Powell fits into this current roster? If Masai never trades for GTJ and Hood three years ago, how much better, worse or the same does this raptors team look?
I’ve been a broken record since 2019. Siakam is a bench role player. Nothing more. Always was. He excels against poor teams or when the entire team is putting the work in. If Siakam had potential.. Lowry would’ve stayed. He left pretty quick.
Siakam has bad handles, has 1 spin move. Does not have a good consistent jumper. He can’t shoot 3s, he’s not a great free throw shooter and as we’ve seen.. he’s no leader and crumbles under pressure.
The issue now is he’s been paid a max and I’m sure he wants a supermax.. he’s slacking on defense because he’s had a few years of having everything revolve around him. Siakam is not a talented player or a high iq player. He’s physically gifted sure and he won the lottery in 2019 with a perfect team around him. The championship team was stacked, kawhi was getting doubled and Siakam was always open or had poor defenders on him. I could go on but he needs to be traded for a young player or prospect or picks etc that compliment Scottie
They've tried the traditional starting lineup. Time to swap in Trent for Schroder, be different.

It’s crazy. Scottie was on a heater just hitting shots with ease, and then all the sudden Schroeder starts forcing shots or throwing everything to pascal. Scottie’s literally calling for it, and you can see Dennis look at him and just ignore it. I don’t get it .
And ps. Our half court offence sucks, stop rolling the damn ball and letting the defence get set. If we’re at our best in the fast break, why the hell are we getting the ball up as slow as possible off the inbounds
Rob, what are thoughts bringing in a seasoned shooter like Bogdan Bogdanović? He has been one of the Hawks best 3 pt shooters. They use him mainly as a SG of the bench and not many people know he's also quite a talented ball handler and playmaker which he showcased in the FIBA World Cup for Serbia and also the previous teams in Europe before joining the NBA. He would make a useful piece for us and could mentor Gradey Dick to elevate his shooting skills. Another great player I followed in the EuroLeague these last few years is 2x MVP Vasa Micić (PG). High IQ and Immense talent and ferocity. For some reason he's not being utilised in OKC.
This is going to be the Baynes season all over again. It started off just like this with them lingering around 500 until they went on a west coast road trip and the gates of L’s opened up.
Knicks are just the better team! I will admit as a Knicks fan, I wanted OG, but after seeing his performance, and not just this game, but throughout the course of the season, regardless of the lawsuit, He's not a difference maker, someone who moves the needle. So I hope the Knicks stay away from OG. He's just an average player to me🤷🏿
their is a small chance that at this point is Masai isimplementing Shroeder heavy minutes strategy so that he flip him at the trade deadline. Stat pad and sell. If he sells high then it is a smart move, if he doesn't trade him then eeehhhhh. Shroeder is a great backup, combo guard but I can see why now he is not a starting point guard on a winning team. He plays like a promising rookie that needs to develop finer skills.
IMO: Darko is teaching how to play Basketball, not Basketball plays. The template of playing time, is a constant so the players know they're going to get opportunities. Idea is to focus on making the right play. Rather if I'm going to see the floor.
After 20 games, we have alot of players that probably memorized movements rather than understanding movements. This roster will be different by the trade line.
Orlando is YEARS ahead of us. Covid didn’t slow the raptors down 3 years, Masai’s leadership did.
