DeMar DeRozan Trade Rumors via The Athletic
“DeRozan, perhaps more than any of the aforementioned players, is considered very likely to be on the move before the deadline passes. And with good reason. Not only is the 34-year-old still very productive (21.3 points, 4.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds per in 18 games this season) and thus attractive to contenders who are looking for more firepower, but also his expiring contract ($28.6 million this season) should incentivize Bulls president of basketball operations Artūras Karnišovas to avoid losing him for nothing in free agency this summer.

  1. everyone wants on the bus when ur playing well he didnt want to know us before he signed with the bulls though i take him on vet minimum

  2. Why trade for Demar, he's a great player dont get me wrong, when Donovan Mitchell supposed to be on the way? For free…I just dont know. P for pass

  3. Getting rid of Evan Fournier is addition by subtraction. That said, DeRozan is an all-time great player who’d make us a fun playoff team but that to me is not worth players like Grimes, Quickley or Barrett.

  4. I see alot of people passing on Demar but just think, is the team better with him or without him? We become Instantly better with him, imagine if we had him against the heat last year we probably wouldave made it to the ECF.. i say get him and we will be a problem THIS year

  5. grimes, fournier, jeffries, pick(s) gets it done with us adding 5 mil…. and the bulls WILL DO that deal with a decent pick attached

  6. Best to wait. How many years does DeMar have on his contract? Does Josh Hart's measure up? How much more time on his contract to possibly involve him?

  7. It would be interesting if Derozan was the final piece like Kawhi was for the Raptors and the Knicks win the championship this year.

  8. Demar DeRozen is not the answer, who we giving up for this traffic cone on defense??!! Fck DeRozen, Donovan, Lavine, Finney, Bogdonavic, we need a good back up 4, so when Julius loafs he can be taken out and put on the bench

  9. Yes, Grimes, Evan, Sims, 2nd round picks for DeMar. He'll help this year. Plus, an option for next year is to let him go, and use his expiring contract to get OG as a free agent (if he opts out, which he most likely will).

  10. DeRozan is THE player thqt brings almost exactly evertying we've needed for years on this team…. the "disgruntled star" just aint happening, and you cant keep waiting for it at the expense of players that can really help. Add in DD's expiring contract and this is a no-brainer — if there isn't a better deal out there of course….kinda contradicts what i just said, but im talking legit deal being out there that you "know" this better player is gonna be moved…
despite how well he's been playing, i still want the Knicks to move (and im just gonna list the names here besides the main 2 being moved, the rest can be figured out a la "crossing the T's and dotting the…..lower case j's… lol)
    Randle for Jerami Grant
and in that trade, we take Thybulle also
and then we also make a deal that can probably be done like NOW, and that's go get Tyus Jones from the Wiz….
the other pieces in these deals that'd be moved are Fournier, Grimes, McBride, and Jeffries, POSSIBLY IQ, but i'd hold onto him and add more picks.
Reason why i just listed names is that in one case or another, depending on who goes where, blazers or Wiz will be adding a little bit of payroll, but they're both UNDER, so you can offset that with a strong sales pitch wrapped around picks.

Why do the Knicks do it? Grant is a 100x better defender than Randle, knows how to play better within a system, next a star, and when to step up more and be "the man," who can go off for 40+ (if you remember how he torced us). He's vastly underrated and can defend the 2-4 exceptionally well, and a 1 and a 5, depending on who they are. He's more efficient, he's more athletic. No one will agree on the surface, but if you really dig in, GRANT IS JUST BETTER than Randle. And even if that ISNT true, just wait til the fan attitude shift the next time Randle is pouting, bitching, having clips pop up on twitter with his piss poor effort/defense. Addition by subtraction in that sense…
Thybulle is the most underrated defender in the league, who is one of the best 3pt shot DEFENDERS in the league, and ive said this beore, but how other teams arent noticing that and copying his 3pt defense in practice every day, just boggles my mind. Simply put—-he defends the 3 with virtually 100% effort, which you may think "well who doesnt?," initially, but when you then realize guys always pull back a little so as to not foul and produce the 4pt play, you'll see how important that is. Thybulle can also drain the 3, and is the epitome of the 3&D role player…. so now so far we've got 2 versatile guys, who can score, score in different ways, plays welll above average D, and who minimally help out in 3 of our key struggle areas…
Finally Jones, i mean… do i really have to explain why we need another ball handler/floor general for the 2nd unit? Do i really have to explain how good Jones is at that, consistently leading the league in assist to turnover ratio? Do i have to mention how, though yes a few years ago, the Grizz didn't miss a beat and even improved when Ja got hurt and he was the starting PG? He's a throwback floor general, who not only looks to involve and improve his teammates, but actually DOES IT

Why does Washington do it? Picks and a young player or 2, for a guy who has no business being a team with 3 wins. You can get Jones YESTERDAY and we should be all over this right now.

Why does Trailblazers do it? Same thing, sorta, picks, maybe a young player or 2, though nothing getting the city of Portland fired up as the future, but they still get back a comparable, all star player for them 2 in Randle, but get out from under BOTH long term deals of Grant and Thybulle anywhere from 2 to 3 years early, which of course frees up their payroll to be commiserate with their crappy performance if that's the case, or to allow them to play free agency earlier if their rebuild works well and ahead of schedule.

Doubt any of these will happen, NYK Mgmt aint that bright. It's also 2 deals, or a 3 way, with a lot of omving pieces…but they are actually doable, and improve us from top to bottom, on both sides of the ball, with better, more efficient, and higher baseketball IQ play. We could be a 2 seed with these deals

  11. I'm not sure about this trade. What would the KNICKS have to give up. If We do get Rozen I think that QUICKLEY IS GOING. ALSO MAYBE GRIMES. I FEEL THAT WE SHOULD KEEP THE YOUNG TALENT. BUT I FEEL THAT HE WOULD BE A RELIABLE PLAYER BUT HE IS OLDER. WHAT KIND OF CONTRACT WOULD HE GET. I KNOW THAT HE WANTS A RING BUT HOW MUCH LONGER IS HE GOING TO BE ABLE TO PLAY. FINAL ANSWER IS NO TRADE. SORRY DEROZEN. 😮😊

  12. 34 years old would put us in win-now mode. I’m not sure even with DeMar we can be a championship team. Don’t get me wrong, we’d be really good. But not a the title contender we would need to be with a 34 year old core player

    NYK get:Brandon Ingram/Mikal Bridges/Nic Claxton/Larry Nance(74.2Mil out-75.5Mil in)
