Can we all give a round of applause to the man that heard the criticism after a terrible last playoff series, swore he’d do better, and has been absolutely crushing it this year so far?

D’Lo has been incredible this year so far. And his defense has been noticeably improved

Love it when a player swears to do better, and they live that. All the respect to the new improved D’Angelo Russell

This is the first time I’ve ever watched DLo and been able to tell he’s got a 6’10” wingspan

Folks still gonna be pessimistic until he does it in the playoffs (which is fair), but he absolutely deserves his praise for doing what’s needed to help us even get to the playoffs.

If you have realistic expectations for him (that of a 17M role player), he’s crushing it. Those that still view him through the lens as a 30M guy with star expectations will consistently be disappointed.

  3. You wouldn’t think he was based on the comments around here lol. Considering we spent the majority of last season watching Westbrook brick jumpers, throw bad passes, and choke layups, along with being a locker room cancer, it’s really astounding to me that people are complaining about DLo’s production.

For a slower less athletic player, his hustle has been through the roof! it’s been great to see him scheme out his own body’s limitations with BBIQ.

5 steals yesterday. D’Lo White is becoming a problem.

  6. LudwigNasche

I don’t trust him, but he is playing well for sure.

  7. kasaan110

Meanwhile this entire sub wants to trade him. When they realize we can’t really do better than him. Caruso love him but he isn’t better then dlo. He just a upgrade defensively

It’s the first quarter of the season. No one should be patting him on the back just yet. He is going to have to have a good playoff to wash off his stench. He did this with other teas too.

  9. Juaniscool-8

The beat defense I’ve ever seen Dlo play

  10. motorboat_mcgee

He’s such a stabilizing presence on offense most games too. I trust him with the ball more than anyone on the team. Yes, even more than LeBron. D’lo’s ast/to ratio has to be the highest on the team easily.

  11. No-Equipment-20

He’s done a really good job getting the ball to AD and making sure he’s involved. I know people will include him in trade discussion because his contract but we CANNOT trade him without getting another playmaker. He’s at a 6.6/1.8 assist to TO ratio.

  12. Nervous-Guava-7390

Still a little skeptical about Dlo because historically he hasn’t performed great in the playoffs offensively either but you gotta tip your hat to him for the improvement hes shown so far

  13. Top-Consequence-911

His finishing has also been excellent. Carried over that significant improvement in his game from last season. Like he said, he’s just entering his prime.

  14. I didn’t want us to get D’lo. I wanted the Lakers to trade him. He’s proving me wrong game after game.

  15. ginbooth

And who was also pivotal in few playoff games too, lest we forget…

  16. SophisticamatedApe

Whoever thinks dlo is better for this tesm than caruso doesnt know basketball. Dlo is unplayable in the playoffs when matched up against a capable defender.

I hate all the talk about how D’Lo is such a poor defender. Name a PG in the league who’s a major plus on both ends of the court other than Jrue, White, Dejounte Murray, and maybe Smart. Those guys are the exceptions, not the rule. Given the game rules favoring the offensive player, it’s incredibly difficult to defend at the point of attack, and those who can do it capably tend to be exceptional athletes who happen to not be a threat on offense (ie Caruso). I’d take D’Lo over the many other offense-first PGs in the league – at least he’s got wingspan and a really cerebral approach to the game. Add in the hustle from this season and we’ve got a really nice player.

D’lo’s been giving us exactly what we need in the regular season. Shooting, playmaking, complement our stars. We’ll see if he can sustain during playoff ball, but I’m no longer wanting to see him moved. He’s a valuable member of the team and is comfortable on the team

  19. incredibleamadeuscho

As a DLo fan, I know that he was always capable of this. But he will have the biggest 4 games of his career when the Lakers make the playoffs. There’s nothing he can do in the regular season to convince people otherwise.

  20. Vexing_Pie

He’s been great this year. Some iffy games but he’s making up for it with the defense and playmaking. I just wish he could take a higher volume of a threes.

  21. ValuableAssociate8

We gone need him to score move if we wanna make it to the finals. As good as he shoots from 3 I expect him to average 25ppg

  22. Kn0wFriends

Currently my favorite player on the team

  23. He’s getting the Dennis Schroeder treatment from alot of fans.

They will only comment when he has bad games. When he leaves they’re gonna blame front office for letting him go.

  24. TorontoRaptors34

Its nice but the sad the fact is that won’t matter if he can’t do it in the playoffs.

  25. ProfessorTicklebutts

He’s an inconsistent player, everyone. That’s it. Some nights he looks great, other like he’s lost. That’s who he is. Being overly positive about him is just as erroneous as being overly negative.

He’s trying more on defense. That’s great. He still also takes dumb ass hero shots and makes passes he has no business attempting.

Being a Dlo truther on either side of the argument doesn’t make you smarter than everyone else. In fact…
