It’s fine man, let people be. It’s timberwolves sub and people can have different opinions. It’s a hobby for all of us. Let’s not talk shit about each other and enjoy the success.

  2. Slim-Ticket

😂 Love people who can make fun of themselves and admit when they’re wrong! Respect mate

  3. quietsam

You’re going to catch a ban for not blurring out the user name. Enjoy!!

    We’ve all said dumb stuff

    1. We all (at least most of us) want what’s best for the team
    2. We are not as smart as we think we are

As long as you provide some justification for your criticisms of players and coaches, I don’t really mind. Obviously we all just have a Birds Eye view and Im always happen when my critiques of a player or coach blow up in my face

  8. SirDiego

Props. Need more people willing to just say “I was wrong.” I guarantee I’ve had worse takes than that.

Honestly I don’t blame you. After that Atlanta Hawks game and blowing that lead I felt the same way! I thought our problems from years past didn’t go away and I felt like Finch was part of the problem. Glad to know I was completely wrong just like you

Man, the doomer babies down voted me so bad after they all wanted Finch’s head after that loss. I will admit that I told them to stop watching nba basketball, which was incendiary. But if you think Finch is a bad coach, you don’t know what you’re looking at.

Aside from the “fire him now” part there was a lot of truth to your rant. The team is really talented and is now showing what the team has been capable of doing all along.

Despite what people argued before, the roster make-up of the team has always been great. The Wolves didn’t make any massive additions since the trade deadline last season but in my opinion had “some addition by subtraction” at the trade deadline and this summer.

i’m not proud how long it took for the joke to hit me ffs

  13. Well if he(you) does, he shouldn’t. Nothing he said was wrong. Obviously firing Finch would’ve been stupid but it was just a knee jerk reaction to an atrocious start to the season. I don’t blame him, it’s Minnesota sports baby.

To be fair to yourself, the Hawks game was so ugly man. Finch seemed like he was allergic to timeouts and just watched us blow a 20 pt lead like he didn’t care. Even Jon K slightly called out Finch the next day about timeout usage or lack thereof. Since then, it really seems like he’s been much more active in coaching real time and has ditched the “let them play through it” strategy to an extent.

    Finch is the man!

My wife and I stopped at a small town North Dakota bar this summer on way home from a funeral. I was sporting my Timberwolves hat as always and the bartender said hey I gotta talk to about something. Me, assuming it was my ID, and he goes I like that hat. He says cool story, this tall guy walks into the bar about a month ago and he has no idea who he was, but some other patrons recognized him and started talking to him. It was Finch, Then one the patrons asked if he minded if he got his son to come down to bar to meet him. Finch says not at all, so guys son, High School basketball player and some of his buddies run to bar to meet him. A couple weeks later the bar manager received a giant box with all this signed Timberwolves merchandise for those kids and the bar with a hand written letter from Finch, and he showed me the letter.

Long story short Finch is one cool ass dude, and the guy I want coaching my team.

I think we all had some feelings after 1-2. Can’t be too harsh about it

Me but with Kat… I still had faith in Finch, but was just not convinced the roster construction was gonna work. I was wrong, sorry Kat.

I sometimes got frustrated with some of his play calling and substitutions as well. But what casual basketball fans don’t understand is it takes time to figure out how to make a team work. There is experimentation to figure out who can play together and who they can play against, and what plays they can run and against who.

There’s been a lot of player movement since Finch got here so he’s had to constantly experiment. Now he’s finally had some stability for half a season or so, he’s figured out how this team can play. This shit isn’t easy for coaches either.

Good teams aren’t built quickly, let alone great ones.

  20. Expensive_Middle9521

For me it was all the talk about, we are not a serious team. That was frustrating to see. Obviously something clicked after that game, but at the time I was inclined to feel the same way. Good thing I’m not in charge.

  21. flimsydribbles_74415

Without guys like that pushing the constant pressure nobody ever does shit.

I remember reading that post and everyone huffing and puffing over it. I thought it might be all sarcasm at the time. But honestly, the heat probably needed to be applied already. They won like 5 preseason games and then came out flat to start the season 1-2 including a flat-out unacceptable Atlanta game.

Ok so we’ve all been watching this team since. Does anyone want to claim this is now the same team that showed up to the Raptors and Hawks games? At least in the Raptors game we saw some defense. But it went straight backwards for Atlanta game. That wasn’t the team we’ve seen since. Some hell needed to be raised by fans after that mess. Coaches should have raised holy hell during that Atlanta game. It sure seems like they did after it because this team has been different ever since.

I’m usually level headed but almost died after the loss.
