After losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday the Detroit Pistons are on a 17 game losing streak and are currently on pace to have the worst season in NBA history. After having the worst record in the NBA last season it felt as though there was no possible way the Pistons could worse, but through twenty games this season they are in danger of setting records for just how awful they are.

The thing that is impressive about the Pistons is that they are trying to be good and somehow managing to put together a historically bad NBA team. This year 5 of a rebuild and they're worse than they've ever been. Really pathetic job done by Troy Weaver, and Tom Gores but they're still making bank so I'm not sure they should care.

In regards to Monty, Monty did reject their original offer, but the Pistons upped the money so much, he would be dumb to not take it, and the wild part, I can’t really blame him for the state of the team because Tom Gores and ownership have openly not committed to being bad. Look at the teams that were in similar spots couple seasons back in Houston, Cleveland and Orlando that accepted that reality, actually made moves to take on assets & now (at least in Dec. 2023) can say they’re all in positions where a team like the Bucks has to acknowledge them as a possible lose. With the Pistons, in the words of Kofie, if your team plays a couple minutes of serious basketball, you win the game.
