>Difference between this year and last year is the Raptors have to make decisions, both OG/Pascal will get large pay raises
>They’re a wildcard team trade wise
>OG fits their timeline more, but he will have a lot of suitors
>Market on OG projects to be more than he can sign right now, fits better on Barnes timeline
>Pascal has been in trade talks for a while, all-nba calibre player when he’s right
>Will a team that has max cap space, look hard at OG, mentions a similar deal to what Fred got (i.e. 2 + 1), he has a lot of trade value
>Value would drop a bit unless they can believe they can sign him long term
>Sixers can create cap space to go after OG
>Though trading for him gets his bird rights
>Trent extension is unlikely
>Atlanta is looking to win now
>Masai drives a hard bargain, going to be want the best assets despite him being a pending free agent
>Atlanta will try to be a buyer if they can
>Scotto has gotten some inclination that the Raptors would like to add a star player if they can
>However, with the new CBA/luxury tax the juice might not be worth the squeeze on Lavine
>If you keep Pascal you want to compete and win now
>They have to decide if Siakam is the guy they want to be the focal point of this team going forward
>Will Lou says that the situation of them going younger seems a lot more likely than the other one of winning now with Siakam
>There were conversations about an extension with GTJ, Scotto heard it would be around 20 mil AAV, if something were to get done, his educated reasoning is that it would be a short term extension, right now, they don’t know if he’s a core piece
>Mentions Gradey being a replacement for Trent down the line for the roster

Scott discussed the potential of Jalen Johnson’s availability if the hawks want to win now.
Do it Masai. Pascal ans GTJ for jj, Griffen, and Picks

Let’s remember this guy is a Sixers mouthpiece and the Sixers are gunning for one of Pascal / OG, so should take it with a grain of salt.

All the stuff about Masai driving a hard bargain makes me think we won’t see a repeat of previous poor trades for Raptors star players – and make no mistake, **the front office has not been subtle** about their intent to trade Siakam; they literally tried to trade him on draft night and during the offseason, and there was a report at last year’s deadline that the Raptors would require Nic Claxton in any trade with the Nets
If he doesn’t get an offer he likes, he’ll re-sign his players and try again next year
