Pretty generous tbh. I would put us in the playoff tier, which is still impressive as I would have been happy for us to be in the play-in or better tier before this season started.

    Thunder a little high tbh

We ain’t better than the sixers

We aren’t better than healthy pelicans

    Magic are equal to us

I’d say swap thunder and suns with pelicans and sixers

Timberwolves in contenders sure is something

Fair. I think the big thing for us is matchups. If the playoff bracket stacks well for us we can make a deeper run than people think but if we get denver or minny in round 2 it’s gonna be GGs

  5. I like how there is no currently openly tanking team. It just goes from “maybe oughta be tanking” to “what in the world is going on here.”

They have us up too high. We are on the brink of contending forms championship, only dudea on our team that have been in a playoff series are Lu and Shai over three years ago

We really are on the brink we just need a true pf and to move giddey to running the bench unit

So clearly this is a reasonable realm to call ourselves contenders. The Athletic actually writes good stuff and whether we feel it or not, this is a fair ranking so far.

We’re 2nd in the super competitive West right now and we’re a bucket from being 1st. That would be inflating our actual ranking, but 4th-5th in the league is a pretty fair assessment.

When is the Thunder going to stop rebuilding, they been rebuilding for 6 years /s

It’s decently fair, given the current standings. I am skeptical of T-wolves holding onto their top spot, but at the moment, it’s definitely hard to argue with how they’ve been lately.

Idc what Minnesota’s record is they’re not a contender lol. Lakers haven’t been healthy but I think should be two tiers up cause they’ve shown they can dominate when they are. Clippers one tier up cause Kawhi and George haven’t been on point at the same time but they’ve been good when they are.

I heard a stat that gave me some pause on Youtube. Historically, 90% of contenders all share one common similarity, and it’s being simultaneously top ten in half court offense and half court defense.

As of now, the only teams in the league that hold that position is Denver, Boston, and OKC. With that said, I definitely don’t think that makes OKC a contender. Maybe the next year or two. But I think it is indicative of how well this team is doing right now, and I think putting us as brink, or playoffs is accurate.

  13. Brink of contention and playoff teams tier could just be consolidated. All those teams are “brink of contention” depending on the moves they make or the development that happens

I can’t get over that they made this a pyramid shape… with only three teams at the base… and four at the tip. That simply is not how pyramids work.

A second-round exit and two lottery picks for OKC. I like it.

Can’t help but notice Detroit, haven’t they been at the top of the draft for like the last 4 years?

  17. Wtf is the point of putting it in a pyramid if… i realised i dont care
