[Lou] We’re talking about the market will dictate that OG will be paid 40 mil/season… when most of his offense is spoon-fed, catch and shoot

This was in the context of his react pod saying that “As a group, there is no need to see them together to continue, not if they play like this all the time.”

“Where was the 20 mil impact from Poeltl, top 10 center

Wish we traded him for Shaedon Sharpe when we had the chance.

Trading what is looking like a top ten pick for Poeltl may be one of Masai’s worst decisions.

Especially when we also could have had Scoot had they tanked last year.

“We’ll just pay OG a max contract” is just coping at this point, everyone can see the FO has kicked the can so far down the road that the potential of losing our top guys is real in FA and the return on trades is just worse than what it was in the past few years ago, we could have had Sharpe if wanted, we could have had a top 3 pick in this draft and a young guard in Simons if we wanted, we could have Memphis’s pick this year if we wanted.

Then every time we don’t the reports are the same, nobody around the league ever believes that the Raptors were serious sellers in the first place, its lazy selling and aggressive buying for extremely marginal upgrades.

Don’t forget Masai saying last year that he doesn’t like to make moves at the deadline and will re-evaluate in the off season.

Then proceeds to do fuck all in the off season.

The team’s losing record this year is probably for the best anyways. If it was winning, Masai would have likely doubled down like the last deadline and given up more assets to “win now”.

Then, after a play-in or first-round exit, it would be one of the most terrifying offseasons to date with the potential of both OG and Pascal walking for nothing.

People talk about not trading Fred at the deadline and probably tanking Pascals value but not trading OG when they could’ve got a haul for the future knowing they would’ve had to overpay him in a year was probably their worst one. OG may be worth that money to some teams but not to one that needs offense this bad. And his value as an asset plummets once you double his salary.

he’s right. OG isn’t some must have player i don’t care what anyone says

I said this and got downvoted so much

Og maybe worth 40 million a year to contender but too a team that’s extremely mid the value isn’t there

The past few seasons has been a master class in poor asset management.
