> The Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers are expected suitors for LaVine, but both are operating from positions of patience and due diligence. And now, as the Bulls have found their stride over the past week and are just one game out of a Play-In Tournament spot, teams will continue to monitor their approach with LaVine and DeMar DeRozan, who will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. The Athletic’s Sam Amick recently reported that DeRozan’s preferred trade destinations are the New York Knicks and Miami Heat if he does end up being dealt.

> A bevy of teams has been expressing interest in trading for Bulls utility star Alex Caruso, league sources say, but the franchise has shut down those calls. Caruso, whose $9.9 million deal for next season is partially guaranteed, is averaging 9.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 20 games this season.

#Other News:

#Pascal Siakam & OG Anunoby:

> Teams such as the Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers are expected suitors for Siakam or Anunoby but believe Siakam appears to be the likelier player to be dealt, league sources tell The Athletic. Siakam, 29, is earning $37.9 million in the last year of his Raptors contract this season while Anunoby, 26, has a $19.9 million player option for next season that he will almost assuredly decline to enter free agency.

> The Hawks held intense conversations with the Raptors surrounding a Siakam deal over the offseason, as The Athletic reported, and the Pacers and Kings have both checked in and engaged at different points with Toronto over the last year. For the Kings, a better start to this season than a year ago (12-8 this season compared to 11-9 last season en route to a 48-win campaign) provides confidence that they can grow internally rather than compete for the expected cost of talents such as Siakam and Anunoby.

#PJ Tucker:

> Forward P.J. Tucker has expressed frustration about his current situation with the team, and both sides are discussing ways to resolve a role for him there or elsewhere, according to league sources.

> The 13-year NBA veteran has been a key, big-minute contributor across the last 12 years — including starting three games and playing over 22 minutes for the 76ers a night prior to his trade with James Harden to the Clippers — but the 2021 NBA champion has been a DNP-CD in the last five games and has not played since Nov. 27 as coach Tyronn Lue moved rookie Kobe Brown into the rotation to infuse youth and athleticism. Tucker has been professional by helping Brown and his younger teammates while navigating his new reality with the Clippers.

> Multiple contending teams are monitoring the Tucker situation in LA. For the season, Tucker, 38, has averaged 1.3 points and 2.9 rebounds. He is earning $11 million this season and has a player option worth $11.5 million for the 2024-25 season.

    >DeRozan’s preferred trade destinations are the…Miami Heat if he does end up being dealt.

Aw shit here we go again.

  2. Do it Morey you dumbass. Don’t think about how this would actually fit your team, just be blinded by the potential of adding an all-star.

Boy oh boy does it feel super weird not being the biggest storyline heading into trade deadline.

  4. Lakers aren’t interested in Lavine…every lakers beat reporter has indicated that

Lakers would be making a big mistake gutting depth for LaVine. Presumably they’d need to trade DLo, Vincent, and Rui to match salaries.

I don’t understand why DeRozan seems so fixated on joining the Knicks. There’s no natural spot for him in the starting lineup nor are we particularly built to get the most out of him. Unless he doesn’t mind being a 6th man towards the end of his career we just don’t make any sense as a trade partner for him.

The lakers are not trading for lavine dlo and rui combined are better then Zach and we not even gonna start about Zach defense. Bulls are stuck with him just gotta build better around him lol

If you’re trading those two, it’s almost certainly a tear down. Why hold onto Caruso in that case?

  9. “Expected suitors” is such a nothing burger.

It’s another Westbrick case if the Lakers do this. Ain’t no way they are that stupid, right?

The Lakers are just fine without Lavine, thanks. Urgh

I don’t think Lavine is the missing piece for the Sixers dont make this move Daryl

  13. we just rampaged through the IST with like a +21 point differential and held the nba’s best offense to 109 and we want to get rid of that

  14. firstbreathOOC

Knicks need spacing… don’t think DeRozan gives them that at all.

For anyone who has closely watched the Kings this year, there should be no confidence of “growing internally” with existing talent. The same problems that plagued last year’s squad are alive and well in this year’s team. They’re actually much worse offensively with slight defensive improvements. If the FO is serious about improving, deal(s) must be made.

Lavine to the Lakers? No thanks, we’re good. Let’s focus on building around our current core and finding the right fit, not just chasing big names.

No way lakers are interested, must be bait

  18. opeth2310

Please stay away from the Lakers! Only thing that worries me is that Lakers have not been playing Rui that many minutes all season and could be thinking about moving him. I would be so mad lol

  19. Lol, what a joke. They have no use for Caruso. So you know it’s bullshit.

  20. KUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZ

    No we aren’t

Remember that Shamshill is a shillshams for players.

Kluth wants this out there, but it doesn’t mean that bron does

This is cap. Using the lakers to try and fluff is horrid trade value. He’s owed 40+/yr over the next 4 years with a 48 mil player option in 2027. He’s oft injured as well. Most well equipped contenders aren’t going to shell out 40 mil in salary and picks for him.

    >All trade calls to trade for Alex Caruso have been shut down.

I feel like there’s no way… if you’re rebuilding your team, the high-value role player on a great contract seems like the first guy you move off. Though he’d be lovely to have around for a rebuild just as a team leader, he should be valued *really highly* by a contending team with a couple picks stashed away and very little cap room. The Bulls probably just want to see 2frps +more and aren’t seeing that in offers.

Do any of the Pacers/Thunder/Magic have interest in Caruso? I could see one of these young-good teams wanting to make a load-up trade like that.

  23. motorboat_mcgee

I still see no logic in us trading for LaVine

  24. spookyspicyfreshmeme

lmaooo if the heat get demar they’re losing in the first round

  25. befree46

Please trade Caruso while his value’s high and his body not irreversibly broken down.

Also he deserves to hustle on a winning playoff team.
