Totally disagree.. Kuzma is the best fit for our roster.. He's a playmaking big wing that can drop down to the 4. He's avg 23/6/4 on decent efficiency even on a horrible roster. We need to consolidate the talent here and the mins distribution. Kuzma would move the needle for this roster. I'm sure he won't be expensive to get. This is the type of trade we never seem to make.

I'd do it. Pickings are slim out there and will be (it seems every team wants to hold NY to ransom – thanks Jim), Dude wants to be here and getting his brand going in NYC will be very attractive. Plus, I get the vibe that clock is ticking on coach (Thibs lovers can hate on me). Pay Kuz. We're done drafting with coach's game plan.

I'm convinced that the Knicks front office won't pull the trigger on a true impact deal to really move the needle and make us a contender. I think the fear of potentially getting it wrong outweighs the criticism of not making a big move!

Getting kuz, barrett and Randle would be major coup + moves Barrett to position where any coach with any sense woul play him. Downside– saves Tibbs job.
The starting unit would have plenty of fire power 🔥 but you would need a pass first PG to make it work or all of the players would have to be willing to take less shots a game. I also don't see Kuz being a Thibs type of player…

He can score for sure. But how does he score? Having him with RJ & Randle & Brunson would be painful to watch. It would have to be part of a larger deal for more assets while sending out RJ and/or Randle.

Ive always liked Kuzma.thought he was very under-rated and I like that he plays a 3/4. You can have him start at the 3 RJ at the 2 and then move him to the 4 when Randle needs a brake and put RJ back at the 3

Because lowkey it almost seems like there are two narratives with the Knicks pulling two different ways..
1 way is this is the perfect team and the only thing holding it back is for Julius to play perfect.
The other way is Randle and Brunson aren't enough & we need a real star.
Which would require you trading away your depth on this roster.
So whatever star would come here, would not be playing with the same roster Julius and Brunson currently have to deal with…
So why not just start building a proper roster around Jalen and Julius right NOW?
How is RJ suitable for the 3 , all his up & down play the last 5 years… But Kuzma who's proven he can play both 3 & 4 isn't a fit?

We make this trade just for people to keep pointing out the fact that we never have the best player on the court. Are we hunting for a superstar or not!? What are we doing here!? And with this front office, they don't even have the balls to make THIS trade let alone a star trade.

I really don't understand why we're not talking about Saddiq Bey. A guy that actually is Young has great numbers this year plays the position we need him to RJ could go back to the two. And on top of that he's a Villanova guy????
Kuzma would be have to be a replacement for Randle just based on how big is his contract and how he plays the same position and wouldn't make sense as a bench guy…… is he an improvement? I mean, we KNOW Randle melts in the playoffs and becomes worthless. So, I mean yeah but not by much. Kuzma isn't much on defense.. at BEST he would be a wash, which is what Randle is at his best. He is not the passer Randle is, and I don't think he is as good as a rebounder. I am not sure about his level of professionalism and his fit with Thibs. I would STILL do it, because Randle is just so much worse in the playoffs but I wouldn't trade for him giving up IQ or picks
What about Lauri Markkenen? Jazz isn't looking to make playoffs, and maybe positioning for better lottery spot? I would consider Lauri to be a clear improvement over Kuz and he is on a cheaper deal. He is injured right now but it's not serious. Jazz could really use someone like Randle and some picks or IQ? Markkenen can fit better since he is a playmaker and a good 3pt shooter and a slight positive on defense.
