Utah Jazz Trading Lauri Markkanen?

Subscribe to the channel for more Utah Jazz Content!!!

In this video we discuss the overall positive play of Lauri Markkanen and the presence of his now heightened shooting touch. The future of the Utah Jazz is bright, but the start to this season has left much to be desired. The question then becomes, ‘What should the Jazz do with Markkanen’. To make a long story short I suggest keeping him, but only time will tell.

  1. I have seen that John Collins, Kelly Olynyk, and Lauri Markkanen are on the trade block. The Thunder, Kings, and Hawks are interested in Markkanen.

  2. I'd be surpsised if Lauri isn't considered a trade piece. There must had been a reasoning why Jazz took Hendricks with similar profile as their first pick and brought in Collins as their only major trade piece.

With current roster Jazz's ceiling as team is play-in. Lauri being the only player with any significant trade value, so it doesn't make sense for Jazz to keep him while his trade value is still high with his cheap contract running through 2025. His contract makes his contract to move and definite player of interest for any team wanting to compete.

Surely Jazz could easily keep Lauri, as he and his family really does enjoy life in Salt Lake City. The front office however would be doing their job, if they wouldn't least listen to the future offers.

  3. I sure do love that Markkanen jersey!

Why would the Jazz deal with GSW? They don't have anyone aside from Steph that's worthwhile (yeah right), and their draft picks are going to be trash.

  4. There’s nothing wrong with your analysis – it’s a perfectly reasonable take. But I think there’s some assumptions that are questionable. First, the fact that Lauri isn’t good off the dribble is not set in stone. I don’t think he’s going to turn into SGA, but if the Jazz improve their spacing so that he can dribble into a single opponent rather then have the whole opposing team easily collapse on him it will help. It will also help if he has players to kick the ball to that pose a realistic offensive threat.

The NBA is a ruthless business and anything is possible. The Jazz have made it clear, as an organization, that they don’t care so much about winning games in 2023-24. But at some point the fans are going to revolt if they trade away all the talent for future draft picks to gamble that they will get something better by 2029.

I’m guessing Markkanen stays, provides the first option for the Jazz to win a few games and maybe even make the playoffs once or twice between now and 2030 before becoming the #2 option for a contending Jazz team. Think David Robinson.

  5. Man, I sometimes hate the trade rumors cause some of them are obviously just bad, and it always happens when Jazz seem to get someone good and goes on for every season

  6. Read an article there are teams who want clarkson n sexton can you imagine what you could get for that

Also olynk, collins n tht will be traded to give room for Brice n Hendricks to get mins on the floor

Everyone like markkanen, Ochai, Kessler, Hendricks and George aren’t touchable

  7. I don’t want to trade Lauri, but I also recognize who our GM is and how Lauri fits into our timeline in comparison to the majority of our roster. Just be prepared y’all

  8. I like those number what you show in this video, overall good job.

What become Lauri trade rumors, there is so many who want take him in they roster. Gsw is one of those, they need help for steph and Lauri would be perfect fit. Also he would be perfect fit in some other contender teams, so there is huge market for him. Dont know can gsw actually make trade, they dont have much assests. So maybe its kings or some other team who can give offer good enough.

Couple things what can jazz make keep him is these. They cant trade everyone good away and expect young guys like Keyonte learn how to win. All he is learning now is how to lose. If that goes on too long, he always will have that mindset that losing is ok. Also draft picks are always game of luck, most of them never gonna be really good ones. And how many young guys they can develop at same time? Jazz already have so many picks that they may want trade some pics away. Also fans dont want watch team what is horrible every night. New streming service and all, they need have better product for they customers. Its smart financial move if they have some stars in they roster.

However it also matters what Lauri want. I do know he like live in utah, its a fact. However, he is not the guy who want wasted his prime with horrible team. If he see jazz can be playoff team maybe 2025 or so, im sure its enough him to stay. If jazz keep suck as much they have done this season, he surely want out.

Its interesting to see what happens, sport bussiness is not easiest thing to predict what gonna happen.

  9. If true, Lakers should pivot focus on trading for Lauri rather than LaVine. Too bad Ainge likely won’t trade with the Lakers.
