Looks like he's playing a lot more PF and shooting respectably behind the arc. He also has a defensive rating of 121 which is poor. I think we can do a little better.

No. Mavs need size on the back end of defense. Bol Bol comes to mind. Kenny Lofton as a hub off the bench, because there's no identity when Luka sits.
The mavs donāt even need a trade for someone like that. They need Lauri Marknenan at the 5 for small ball and o max at the 4 because he is a good defensive piece, young, and has great energy.

mavs are thin on talent , THJ is 6th man of the year candidate, instant offense. Mavs need to add talent, by trading other assets so Stewart would help off the bench, but not if THJ is in that deal, THJ is probably better player so makes little sense even if Stewart plays a position mavs need more. but this doesnt make mavs better probably.
anyway if theres a combination of assets that make sense for both sides then ok, but not if any of top 6-7 guys need to be in that deal. Green or Hardy some second rounders ok, it would be great if Grant would be in that deal for instance, Pistons might want him…
Yes, Steward could be a good option, BUT NOT for THJ and NOT for our 1st. And with that a trade is pretty unlikely. Maxi (or Holmes) + maybe Hardy + 2 2nd will not be enough.
Certainly not Timmy. He's by far our most valuable trade piece & if we're going to move him it should be next year when his deal (and Holmes') is expiring. If we get rid of Timmy this year our offense is absolutely shot. He's the only other shot creator we have besides 77/11. Wait til next year and put together a package for a 3 team deal to get Mikal Bridges.

I would trade THJ if Bogdanovic is included. Bojan is more efficient than THJ and we all know that.
Stewart will level up his game playing alongside with Luka. We know that.

He has huge wingspan so he can play as a center. Furthermore, I also think he can play as a PF if he is shooting 37% from 3 I think with Luka and Kyrie he can rise that percentage to 40% easily (remember DJJ). I would change Josh Green for him every day!
My problem with getting Stew is Mavs would end up with 4-5 bigs that are semi-reliable
In other words ending up having Isaiah, Keiff, Holmes, Powell and losing either Josh or Jaden not ideal
Too much bigs that are master of one thing and not two way players
What Mavs need is Lively type of player, Tall, rim protector that can pick and roll.
Small units is a past strategy, ask Golden State ,ha ha ha š
