The kindest way of putting it is that LaMelo is very stoppable at the rim. He’s weak and doesn’t have the repertoire of moves to draw contact or finish that someone like Trae has. He also spends a wild amount of time at the 3-point line.

If LaMelo just bowled over people and drove his arms through theirs on his way to the rim he could have 34 free throws too. Well maybe if he changed his last name and jersey colors. But other than that it’s totally fair and equally called within the NBA.
