I think there’s more than a few explanations such as more energy needed to be exerted on defense, a system that requires him to be in rhythm with less of the ball (you can see the team tryin to do FVV off-ball at times recently to get Jalen some rhythm reps), and probably just Jalen focusing on the earring skillsets during the off-season than the basics of being an off-ball and slashing threat. (He was working on his “bag” and often cited Kyrie and Ja as his inspirations which are the wrong two IMO since they rely on breaking ppl down with their handles).

He’s just not good, any player can go off on a random night. If you can’t do it consistently you’re just not that good of a player

He is the third option on the team. A totally different style than he has had to play ever. He has to play within a structure for the first time.
Why he is having difficulties shouldn’t be a question. It’s obvious to anyone with a clue.
He didn’t just become a bad player over an off season. These are the reasons. These are things he has to work through and if you some big turnaround in a short time, you’re a fool. It’s 3 years of bad habits and playing one way.
