Yes it is the best start. He looks more efficient and more aggressive then ever. Plus he’s more knowledgeable about the nba. The team can’t win against good team because our role players besides our other super star in Kyrie can’t step up when it matters. Plus we aren’t all healthy right now.
I think you can just chalk it up to the second and third best players being injured in those good team games.

They need to be 100% healthy TO BE COMPETITIVE with good teams. Look where we were last year? We’ve come a long way. We need Jerami Grant. And a healthy bench. And a spectacular Kyrie.

The Mavs just need more Talent. They need more all Star Potential and All Star Level players. Guys that can average 20 or have averaged 20 in their career and they're still somewhat in their primes. That's not all either sometimers an All Star can be 2.5 steals and 2 blocks with 14 ppg. like Kirilenko was . so it can be defensive stats aswell that make an All Star. Cuban just needs to do much better at drafting and not saying racist stuff cause that is the real reason no FA's go to Dallas cause cuban is seen as a racist. cuban has never signed one FA that has ever averaged over 20 from another team. They need Coaches and the GMs that draft players that Look at Steals and Blocks stats. Which I know not one of the Mavs Coaches ever look at stats which is why they are horrible coaches. Stats tell you most much a tplayer helps a team on defense offense or both. Per Minute stats are good aswell. One can set the stats to per 36 minutes which equates to a Starter playing most of the game. Regular Starter minutes by using Algebra.

other team just had more consistent shooters and defenders. theres nothing wrong about his play. aslong as theyre in top 1 to 5 in playoffs they have more room to operate and maybe upset others. they already proved they could beat top seeded suns so they could beat denver,okc,and wolves in the playoffs
We are 10-7 with Kyrie and 6-3 without him. We aren’t better with him and we might be worse. Again it appears that feb 9th is the drop dead date we have to decide if Kyrie is the answer. If not it seems he’s a laker by then…..but I don’t know if they have the assets to get him.

THJ, Grant Williams, Lively, Exum, and DJJ are the next 5 best players in the rotation after Luka & Ky, and they are making about $40m COMBINED… There are some teams out there who's 3rd best player is making that by themselves!
Luka is being compared to (and in many cases out producing) the likes of MJ, LeBron, Tim Duncan, Kobe, Larry Bird, & Magic. All while playing for a pathetic FO & Owner who consistently put one of the worst rosters in the NBA around him. Mavs fans are lucky to have a generational talent who's so amazing that he's able to carry these teams to any sort of success. Y'all even said it on this pod, Mavs are consistently in the bottom of the league in payroll.
If Luka had a top 10-15 roster he might have an MVP or Championship by now.
That's why Mavs fans are so frustrated all the time, it's because we're tired of the Mavs brass just relying on Luka to carry this whole franchise on his back!
Luka is at MVP level, but the team is not good enough. They need a defensive interior and a defensive exterior who scores from three points. The ideal would be to add Jonathan Isaac and Caruso or Thybulle on the outside. They could do without Green, Holmes, Curry, Kleber and all the draft picks they have left, but in exchange they will compete this year for the ring.

I was right, If Luka averages 33 per game they will be a 7 seed. If Luka averages 22 and 15 assists the Mavs will be the 1 seed.
They can’t beat good teams because they aren’t as physical as the other team except they have an ace in the hole with DLive but he’s been hurt and hasn’t played in those big games. They need him to grow up and get seasoned fast because they could be a championship team really fast. He is I feel the mavs are 2nd most important player and rely on him heavily to protect the middle. If they get just a banger kind of power forward like jerami grant or Isiah Stewart or if not – perhaps another legit big who can relieve Derek and protect the middle …. Like a robin lopez, horford, Bryant, or someone solid in the middle and can score in the paint
