  1. I love Brunson but this isn’t a lie. Which is why we need to prioritize bringing in another perimeter scorer to take off the heavy burden he’d face as a “1A” guy. It could be a tier 2 guy, but it needs to be someone who can take over offensively if and when Brunson (and Randle) are not hitting their shots

I’d rather listen to old people fuck than listen to the mainstream media speak on the Knicks

I find it so weird how the media can never just give our team the credit they deserve without adding a negative comment.

Yes, we don’t have a superstar. Yes we aren’t bonafide contenders yet…we’ve had this same discussion week after week over the past 2 years.

Why can’t media can’t simply say: “Brunson is a great talent and one of the best at his position.” Or “The Knicks are a really good and solid team.”

Instead, every compliment is followed by some negative comment like “Oh Brunson is good, but he still isn’t a superstar.” Or “For as good as the Knicks are, they aren’t contenders.”

Shit is just annoying and tiring. It really is Knicks for Clicks.

  4. Another instance of the media talking down on players instead of highlighting how great they are playing. They always do this, especially with the Knicks.

Hammon said this, which kinda came out of nowhere.

  5. big perk came to our guy’s defense. tired of the non superstar label not moving an inch no matter what jb does.

The scriptwriters have been working this narrative since Randle arrived. Hyping up the coming savior

  7. OutsetFlair

Brunson been doubted his whole life for being too small and it’s still going on.

  8. Living_Internet_2970

Alight we can add Becky to the list

  9. This pretty much mean Brunson gonna make a run at superstardom to me at least.

Hating for absolutely no reason is a sign I believe

    Also. Fuck espn

It’s annoying that this is always the narrative with us but you never hear people saying it about Memphis or Sacramento

What bugs me is they said this as if it was a fact and proceeded to give no analytical reason why this happens. It was just “he’s short so he can’t be a first option.” If he can drop 50 on the Phoenix Suns, what does it matter how damn tall he is? Results are results, it may not look as pretty as Steph hitting 10 threes, JB really has to try for those points, but if he’s doing what he’s supposed to do why does any of that matter? They also neglected to mention how close of a 2nd option Randle is; Brunson is clearly our 1A, but Randle is so close behind that in games where a tall defensive guard might even have Brunson locked down, he can take over as the 1, assuming he actually shows up in the playoffs, which I believe he will.

The Knicks are very fortunate to a have player of Brunson’s caliber, a tenacious competitor

We’re the only team in the league that gets talked about like this. So infuriating. Do the kings, magic, pacers, Cavs, or Twolves have a 1a? Why isn’t this question asked about them?

  14. Johnnnybones

I would argue Julius has been the 1a the last few weeks.

Man just let us enjoy some semblance of success, championship or not. I rather be in our position now than being in a basement like the Pistons.

  16. TikTok24

Brunson isn’t too small, but the rest of the team is for a championship push. Put size+athleticism around Brunson (e.g. Pels with Trey Murphy, BI, and Herb Jones at the wings/forward positions), and yes, Brunson can be the lead dog on a championship team. Feels like half the damn roster is under 6’4.

If your physical nature is what drives being 1a then I guess being a woman is solid ground to stand on when I say a woman has no business commenting on a man’s sport
