On the end of regulation time out discussion. John I listen to every episode, I totally get your media angle on that opinion. However, this is basketball. And when you have the ball with 10 seconds or less in a tie game with a timeout left, it’s just a good idea to use that timeout and draw up a legitimate play with multiple options to create an open shot on the floor. Even if it just inbound and give it to (Pierce) style. Either way that’s a situation where the players have to be mature enough to understand it’s good smart basketball to call that timeout right there. I understand your point on offending Tatum, but I just don’t think JT is sensitive like that. He wants to win. Joe has been great in my opinion, I really like him. I just wish that in a situation like that tie game about 10 seconds left and you have the ball, just call the timeout. That needs to be a time to call a timeout, draw up a play with multiple options. I respect and enjoy your opinion on the Celtics daily, this is a rare time I really disagree with you. It does create a learning experience for Joe and the team on this situation in the future, but with this specific scenario. Call the timeout.
All due resoect you're not making sense John regarding Mazulla not allowing Tatum to take that crap 3. That ship already sailed. By your reasoning Mazulla should have had that exact conversation ALREADY with Jason, behind closed doors because this is far from the first time that critical possessions have been blown by Tatum eating up the shot clock and then just settling. So BY NOW Mazulla should have been calling a play to initiate the half court offense. You're saying NEXT TIME Joe should do it BUT NEXT TIME NEVER COMES! My read is that Joe doesn't have the cajones to do it and never will because then it's HIS responsibility and he would rather not take it and let one of his players be the scapegoat. Joe will NEVER, under ANY circumstances take the responsibility to take the ball out of JT's hands in crunch time EVER. He won't send in a play like u were suggesting the other day, with or without a time out and not calling a timeout because he doesn't want to stop play is an EXCUSE so he won't have to call a play and have some responsibility for the outcome.

Jayson Tatum needs a reality check- he is an incredible player whose mental mistakes limit the Celtics ceiling.The absolute last thing the Celtics want is Tatum taking the last shot from behind the arc unless it's a catch and shoot 3 from the corner-which he never takes. Tatum with the ball above the break with the shot clock ticking down is a terrible place to be.They need to figure out how to win important games, and maybe some public humiliation for Tatum might be salutary- they have been placating him for far too long. He is not going to take that final step to super stardom until he remakes his game and the Celtics staff have to push him hard to do so or they aren't winning anything.
Also, pretty sure as a Celtics fan, I don't want Derek White to make the all star team no matter. how much he deserves it. They still need to extend him
