Tom Gores gives Detroit Pistons fans and update | The Pistons Talk Podcast
Welcome to the Pistons Talk podcast 26 baby 26 you guys already know me Anthony guy behind Pistons stock you know my co-host lancec rosi give him a follow on Twitter I think his handle is the same as it is on here at Lance capar Roi but we do
Have a very I would say a pretty jam-packed show um we have some Tom gors quotes that we’re going to react to um you know some trade rumors involving Isaiah Stewart and boam bonovich it’s it’s just going to be a really good show for you guys and we’re doing it the day
Early because obviously you know we have families and we want to enjoy Christmas Eve I’m probably gonna be hammered and probably just eating steak I don’t know what you’re gonna do but I know you have a family we will we actually did get Stakes though that’s funny that you said
That did you get all your Christmas shopping done you an early Christmas Shopper or you wait till the last minute oh yeah I’m pretty early Christmas Shopper I’m very organized so if I don’t have everything done by a certain day I’m just a spaz so here’s what I did this year
Because obviously my fiance we share a bank account and we share an Amazon Prime account so I was like I can’t let you see everything I’m buying you so I had her mom buy everything and I just gave her cash for everything and she wrapped everything so I got it all done
A couple weeks ago it was pretty I think pretty genius on my part yeah I’m just saying genius over here um but we could get into this podcast because I just want to start this off with nerland Noel though the former Detroit Piston he commented on a bleacher report post on
Instagram and he said good group of players the front office and coaches was hurting them boys last year no BS and I wish he had said more like how the coaches and the front office hurt the guys last year because to me reading the this this sounds like a player that
Is a little upset with his time in Detroit and I believe Casey last year I might be I know I’m not getting the quote exactly right but he basically called Noel a emergency piece instead of basically giving an opportunity to be a part of the rotation and he was only 28
Years old last year he’s only 29 but he’s not on a team right now he has not lived up to the lottery you know pick that he was but still I just think it’s a it’s a player that’s upset with his time in Detroit but you were telling me the show
Was going the before we started the show that you had a more interesting take than I did so I want to hear it so like any piston fan I saw it um shout out to Nick cedo on Twitter um he’s the only reason why I really saw it um
Because because I wasn’t aware of it so I I go over to Bleacher Reports post and I see him commenting because you can even go over there now on Bleacher Report and he actually did comment back to um some fans saying that like the defensive coverages didn’t make sense
All that blah blah blah so you know I comment I was like oh no wonder they didn’t play you that that makes so much sense I get a message now I’m not going to name who it is he was an assistant coach with the Detroit Pistons under Dwayne Casey okay this assistant coach
Told me that nland is full of he’s lying he never practiced and when Casey did tell him to come into games he said nah I don’t wanna he even told me a funny story about when they were in foul trouble and he was in the back and
Rashard Lewis who was an assistant coach on the Pistons last year had to go get him and he didn’t want to go play so he said that nland Noel was just a locker room cancer did not want to practice with the guys was a terrible vet and just took the whole
Situation uh he was just very immature about the whole situation obviously getting traded we all know you know we we got Alec Burks uh Kimo Walker and nland noell uh to create cap space for Jaylen Duran obviously and you know we helped the Nicks Jaylen Brunson but he
Was kind of telling me like nland no well is full of crap man like he said there’s a there’s a reason why he’s out of the league so I was right my guess was correct he’s just a player that was upset with his time in Detroit wow dude this makes
Me I just got such a bad taste to my mouth about nerland Noel here I thought you were gonna like say I was full of crap and that I didn’t know what I was talking about but you just kind of confirmed it man um so nerland Noel just
Um and he says no BS but it is clearly BS yeah I mean I I’m going to show you a screenshot um of a conversation but after this is off because I can’t show it on the podcast because I don’t want to throw him under the bus but I’m gonna
I um I’m gonna send it to you because you were gonna laugh your ass off of like what he did at one game it’s so damn funny I I’m I’m I’m just speechless right now for with nerland Noel what was even what is he even trying to accomplish though saying something like
This on a bleacher post I have no idea I I don’t really know the motive maybe he’s trying to get back in the league I mean you got guys like DeMarcus Cousins that can’t get in the league but you know DeMarcus Cousins never said about the Kings yeah I mean maybe he
Said a thing or two about George Carl but who hasn’t you know um I don’t know man like obvious like even Troy even tried to trade him too like to go to to put him at a contender and then contenders didn’t he want to trade for him and then he got bought out
Out and then it’s just like he didn’t really do anything it’s just like I I don’t know it’s a bad look man like if you’re trying to get back in the league and then like I I think the coach that had reached out to me took took
Exception to it because he attacked the coaches and he he told me he’s like you know I’m all for the players and I was just like yeah absolutely you should be and he’s just like but when you attack coaches like that then he’s like it’s
Messed up and I really don’t look at La looking back on last year I don’t ever seem to recall where Casey was putting guys in a bad position it felt like it was a pretty decent environment even despite all the losing it was a pretty decent environment for guys like jayen
Ivy and Duren to grow as players and we’ve commented on it before where Ivy took great strides from game one to the last game of the season he improved so much as a player so yeah nland know well man um I’m GNA have to wipe those 14
Games that he played in out of my memory for the Detroit Pistons I don’t even remember him to be honest with you I think he came in I think the only memory I have I could be misremembering this and obviously his time here was not spectacular but I think he took like a
Foul shot or a technical free throw uh one time I think it was him and I it was just embarrassing it was just foreshadowing what was to come or I think he got to the foul line before he had actually had a minute played in the basketball game or something like that
But anyways nland Noel comend bleacher reporters Bleacher Reports post and he is just full of crap when it comes to full of cap full of cap around the holidays man can’t be lying while Santa’s watching man really can’t I wonder what he’s gonna get under the tree maybe a new set of Knes oh my gosh all right so contending teams like Boston Oklahoma City and the Dallas Mavericks have shown great interest in Isaiah Stewart this comes from James Edwards I’m not surprised that good teams are interested in Isaiah Stewart he’s a solid player that would help out a contending team second unit I
Don’t think any contending team is looking at Isaiah St like that’s the missing piece he’s gonna take us over to the top but if you want toughness if you want hustle if you want energy you want defense he’s a guy that could help your second unit and he can hit his outside
Shot or two he had a couple big threes tonight against the Brooklyn Nets so I’m really honestly not surprised that no cont that contenders are interested in Isaiah Stewart yeah I I I think there’s always kind of been interest from him especially from contenders uh contenders I know this isn’t Boston’s first time
Sniffing around either um even with the extension you know contenders still want him but they probably want him as like a ninth 10th man not a start St in forward like we we do play him I think he played center tonight because of the injuries but you get what I’m saying I think
Contenders value Isaiah Stewart but more in that bench roll and it’s something that you know me and you have kind of agreed with like hey like I like Isaiah Stewart but as a bench player not a starting player in the starting lineup on this team and I don’t know you should
You should try to see what you can get for basically everyone yeah on the trade market I mean you’ve lost 26 straight what do you have to lose at this point if you had to pick out of these three teams and I don’t know if you have the
Rosters pulled up or not but like what team would you want to trade them to out of Boston Oklahoma City and Dallas out of Boston OKC and Dallas I feel like if I traded with OKC I would get flee somehow and I’d probably send him a pick because Sam pry is just ruthless
Yeah um Dallas doesn’t have any picks they do have some young players I would Boston that’s a tough one I don’t know like if those are the three teams and you have choices I’d probably say Boston just because Brad Stevens isn’t an experienced GM because you know Danny
Angel were on the show for years but he’s in Utah now maybe you can get away with something in Boston where you get a little something back I don’t want to trade with OKC because I know prey would probably you know have the Pistons like trade like their future first at the
Next half somehow like I don’t I don’t even know man like any trades with OKC I would just stay away from I would probably go I would go Boston and I’m looking at their roster right now I haven’t really obviously I’ve have not thought about this a ton but I would
Take back like a guy like Sam Hower for Isaiah Stewart I don’t know if I I don’t think the cap works the salaries match but then again I’m looking at their roster I’m like I see SP makyo and I’m like what if they trade Isa Stewart for
SP makyo again just bring him back to Detroit it would be wild but I don’t know I’m with you I’m not I don’t think I’d trade him to Oklahoma City because I don’t think we’re gonna get any anybody significant back but like a guy like Sam Hower who could you know
Make It Rain 43% from the three on six attempts per game he’s also playing 23 minutes per game for them he’s used to a bench roll that’s kind could clear some space for Kad and Jaden Ivy and yeah I would I mean it I don’t think you’re getting
Anything crazy back for Isaiah Stewart anyway I don’t even know how many picks I don’t even know if you get a draft pick back for him but a guy like Sam Hower I think that’d be a pretty decent constellation so Boston would be my choice out of those three teams I think
The only way he gets traded is if Troy’s in the GM here anymore too by by the way okay um because I I I just feel like it’s just a a player that he really likes um he said he’s a glue guy Monty says he’s a glue guy which I I tend to
Agree with um but you would have to give the Pistons a lot to for them to probably move off of him just because of everything that they invested into him over you know the past four years but feel like we talk about this every year that contenders like I Stewart and the
Pistons never uh do anything about it yeah I mean it’s just like our next um topic coming up here with the trade market like we hear the same things all the time and I agree with you I would keep Isaiah Stewart off the trade market if if they decide to bring him
Off the bench when Duren returns whenever that is if you want to bring Isaiah Stewart Off the Bench and have him be a part of the rotation that way I’m perfectly fine I’m tired of of Cade throwing lobs to him I saw it a couple times night and it’s just dude I love
Isaiah St but he has no lift that’s why I want Marvin Bagley to start when Duran’s out but yeah I’m I agree with you as long as Troy is in the GM spot there’s no way Isaiah Stewart gets traded he’s too beloved by this team and
By Troy for them to move on from him so buan banovic is again in the rumor mill his name he’s a name that’s being expected to be traded before the deadline and there are a few teams that are interested this comes from Jake Weinbach like I said earlier we’ve heard rumors
About buan for a while now and I’m just GNA go out to limb here and say that he doesn’t get traded I do not see him being moved by the deadline I would like for the Pistons to try to get something for him especially since last like we heard already heard
And we’ve heard a few times already that there were some contending teams out there that were willing to trade to first round picks for Buon so I don’t know I’m in my my thought is he doesn’t get traded he’s here past the deadline and I’m almost certain doesn’t make very
Many moves this season with the roster yeah I I would I don’t know like when I I read the article piece from James Edwards and we’re going to get into it later about Z Gores talking about uh there’s Chang to be made um it’s a guy that’s 34 next year his contract’s non-
Guaranteed if you do wave him up by a certain date it goes from 20 million to three million I know contenders are going to be interested it’s just are the Pistons going to get the hall that they want yeah and for me personally I don’t think
They will I think you could get a first round pick I’m not saying it’s going to be a lottery pick but I think you can get a future first if that’s really the road you want to go down I prefer uh preferably would like to get a wing I
Really would um I know this is impossible this is just a wish list thing for me like I would see if the Lakers are willing to move on from cam reddish or ruy hachimura I feel like cam reddish on this team would be just a perfect fit
Like what he’s doing in Los Angeles right now and he was a guy that I mentioned I believe last year with you like I think there’s something there with him he he’s a he’s a wing that is kind of on the younger side he can shoot
Threes he could defend a little bit and I’ve always liked ruy haimura also but I really don’t know what the market is for aoam right now he’s an elite three-point shooter we know he can score it’s just in the defensive end he has he has you kind of just like holding your
Breath when he’s on defense because you know something bad’s going to happen but he’s a hell of a player and I think a lot of contending teams would be open to trading for him I if the Pistons are willing to finally move on if it is the
Los Angeles Lakers if they they do decide to bite on the buan I would like ruy hamur back in that trade over cam reddish between those two I mean I think cam reddish is decent but there’s a reason he’s bounced around a lot I think he’s viewed more as a scorer
He’s just not really efficient he’s shooting 40% from the field 30% from three he is shooting 87% from the free throw line and averaging almost two steals per game I think he’s in a fantastic role with the Los Angeles Lakers but if I had to pick between
Those two it would be ruy H chamora and the teams that are even interested that Jake Weinbach um tweeted about you have the Houston Rockets the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks I mean if we’re going to trade with the New York Knicks obviously I want the pick back I
Don’t I mean you’re probably taking Evan forer’s contract back back and I think it’s up after this year so that’s fine Philadelphia I know we talked about Tobias Harris I love him as a player but like I feel like that would be a rental and that would just be a Band-Aid on
This season I don’t see him resigning and then Houston yeah they do got some young interesting pieces like I mean could you trade buan and somehow get Cam Whitmore back and have him run with these guys that would be pretty you know so oh that I like that I
Don’t know how I don’t know what else you’d have to take on from Houston but maybe being able to grab one of those young guys because Houston fans can speak for me I I don’t watch them that much I’ve saw some highlights it looked like amen Thompson was doing some things the other
Night though coming back from iny that was pretty cool so I don’t really know where Cam Whitmore is on their like list of players they want to develop and out with this future so if if the Houston rocks are interested in Buon and they’re really serious
Trying to make a push for the playoffs and compete trade for buan and give us back cam Whitmore and maybe we some other contracts you’re about to make me look up their salary cap because I can’t stop thinking like if you had to get a a cam
Whit more because I know he’s in a rookie deal and boan makes 20 million right so I I just want to look of like they’re not going to trade you jayen green you probably have to take a Ola Depot on and then you probably have to stretch him
Wave him just for it to work man because like outside of Van vet Dylan Brooks they’re probably not going to trade Jaylen green or Jeff Green um because Jeff Green’s such a a great vet for them um maybe Jan Tate who’s he’s not really a shooter but he’s a good Defender Terry
Een though Terry yeah Terry een he’s at three and a half cam whitmore’s at 3.2 uh I didn’t even know Bolan was on the Rockets I never seen him play but that’s actually kind of cool I love that form him so Victor Depot’s contract isn’t terrible though right now it’s two
Years at 18 million and he has a player option for 9.4 million next year so even if he’s on your roster he’s not really eating up that much cap space so you still have the flexibility to do some stuff this off season like if you if you told me the
Houston Rockets wanted Buon and they were willing to give up cam Whitmore but you had to take pack Victor Al dep I would I would take it I’d have no problem with that you know what’s funny um I was on a Twitter spaces maybe two or three weeks ago and because we’re
Talking about boan and someone said in the chat you know you know get that first back on Facebook I think it was Brian shout out to Brian watching on Facebook right now um because if you guys don’t know the Knicks do have the Pistons first part of the Isaiah Stewart
Trade from a few years ago and like we were talking a little bit like on this space and I told them probably the only way that you guys would trade for Boon is if we take Evan forier on because they’re making around the same amount of money
Evan Forni is at 18 and a half and I I’ve told you if you if you look at kind of like his contract he has a I think I believe a team option where you could just wave him and save the cap space that way like you don’t have to opt into
His team option if you do want to create more cap space that way not um yeah I know you you’ve mentioned Isaiah hardenstein and uh someone actually on Twitter tagged me because he had like a 17 rebound game like a see you we’re wrong about hardenstein
I know sh shout out to the our our followers that do watch I mean they they they do tag me on my bad takes I I do appreciate that they do uh it’s like hey man you were wrong dumbass I love it um I don’t know man like I I doubt they
Trade Josh Hart he kind of seems like a glue guy like do you really get excited about uh a Dante G uh diven chenz and maybe I don’t know Quinton Grimes I do actually like Quinton grimes’s game I like him as if he would be a legit three and D guy if you’re
Talking about wings he’s not that bad of a player he’s still pretty young I think he’s still under 25 but I think he also has some playoff experience as well and he had some big moments for him last year so I would take on a quen Grimes
I’d be okay with that yeah I got some people in the chat saying Jericho Sims who’s a every time I watch that I play like he he would be such a cool lober at forade because this guy just jumps out the gym Jericho Sims could be
An option he’s on a really really low contract I’m looking right now on spot track less than two million um I know someone also mentioned Quinton Grimes you know again on a 2.3 million contract em manual quickley who I feel like the Pistons have been interested in for a
While he’s in a $4 million contract so they do have some young players that are on budget friendly deals but you’re probably GNA have to take one of their bigger bigger salaries on if you want to do that um you know you we’ve looked at this free agency class over probably the
Last two three weeks and you know outside of seak really or Tobias Harris at the forward spot there’s not a whole lot out there like you have like Klay Thompson who I doubt anyone’s gonna give him what he wants because he just looks like he fell off a
Cliff um but like I said the Knicks are a good option too um I don’t I I would like to get my first round pick back because then you could make you know you know future trades if you want to do that uh you don’t have to worry about
These protections because I think this year it’s top 18 after that it’s like top uh 13 then top nine and if it doesn’t convey it goes to a second round pick I think having the option to trade your first round pick is very valuable
To me um but I don’t know it’s up to the Pistons really if they want to move on from him I just don’t think they will yeah I’m with you I like I said I don’t think the Pistons move on from Buon but these teams have got there’s some
Interesting things that you could do with the trade machine and ah man I’m just getting kind of excited thinking about it to be honest with you so actually you could trade I just did one trade with the Pistons and the Houston Rockets it does work with Cam Whitmore
And Victor Allen Depot for buan bogdanovich I mean do the Houston Rockets do it I don’t know that’s just something that I’m interested in though yeah like I said I I I really don’t know what bullan value is you know I think the business were asking for like two first last year and
They didn’t get it obviously but I mean like even if you you trade for you know marginable players that make Kate Cunningham’s life a little easier we’ve lost 26 straight I I I it would be like a shiny new toy on Christmas you know like oh a new player
Let’s watch let’s tune into a game we’re we’re still watching watching these games you guys um not like we were when we were two in one I was making dinner and I had the game on but it was on mute because I couldn’t listen to the Brooklyn broadcast because they were really
Annoying but I mean I don’t know man it’s it’s rough out here if you’re a piston fan that’s why we’re trying to be positive on this podcast but man it’s it’s rough right now so the Pistons are being talked about for something other than losing Draymond Green could be traded I doubt
It happens the Pistons were one of the favorites to trade for him or I might be reading that wrong the Pistons were on the list to acquire Draymond Green according to boada I’ll say this I would like a guy like Draymond Green for the Detroit Pistons but they are so far away from
Competing and contending I don’t see it’s it’s it would never work here so I would have to pass on the Draymond Green to the Detroit Pistons yeah I want to look real quick because I know I I know for a fact I sent you a link to the Tweet yeah yeah I did
So Vegas being Vegas has the Dallas Mavericks as a favorite to you know trade for Draymond Green if they wanted to now the reason why we’re talking about this is because the Pistons were on this list but they were a plus 800 along with the 76ers and
The San Antonio Spurs I think if Draymond didn’t go to Michigan State he wasn’t from Sagen Mich there would be no odds of the Pistons possibly trading for a Draymond Green he just signed $100 million contract with the Warriors obviously you know sucker punching people like that’s not cool um
Like I even nerkish kind of felt bad for him he’s like yeah he needs some help like you know just sucker punching people like it wasn’t a basketball act like uh I like Draymond a lot I do but I just don’t think it’s the right time for
The Pistons to commit to somebody that I don’t want to say he’s past his prime but I don’t really think he would add really that much value other than being a good Defender a good passer and a a role model and a vet to these guys but I feel like if you
Want to get that like you could get that a hell of a lot cheaper than committing over hundred million over the next couple of years to a guy like him like if okay if the p were in like 10th place right now and they needed a boost to push them
Into I don’t know top seven top six you trade for a guy like Draymond Green you know for the leadership the the veteran the guy that can beator on defense an extra passer on the floor but you’re so far away from it it it just doesn’t
Matter and I think you’re right if he didn’t go to Michigan State if he wasn’t like the Piston’s ball boy or cleaning up jerseys in the locker room I think rashed Wallace was talking about something like that yeah he would he wouldn’t be on this list I just think
It’s I mean I think you have better odds to if you were gonna bet your life savings like some dude on Reddit did apparently I don’t know if you saw that oh saw that that poor kid yeah dude I think you would have better odds betting on Draymond Green going to the Pistons
Than the Pistons winning a game right now don’t know I hope that kid hedged his bet I really do like was it like 40 Grand his life savings and he bet on a Pistons I think it was what game was the Utah game he bet on yeah BR I hope he
Hedged that if he didn’t hedge that oh my God I mean I don’t know I don’t even know why would do it’s just freaking crazy dude and we all predicted it too when it happened we saw the names out and we’re like dude there’s no way the Pistons win
This game even Kelly olenick had like one of the best games of his career against the Pistons incredible if Kelly oen is dropping 26 on you like kade’s face said it all at the end of the game man he looked like he wanted to just I feel bad for Kate honestly I
Really do like he’s doing what he can but they still lose each and every day like I was telling you before the um the game or during the game they were trying to get back I think it was like a five-point game against the Nets and he’s coming up the floor and Isaiah
Stuart is just gassed he’s winded and he’s not paying attention he’s looking down at the floor and kade’s telling Stu hey like set a pick for me and Stu is not paying attention he’s looking down at the floor and he’s like trying to get his attention and the shot clock’s
Winding down and he had to pass it to like Ivy or boan and they missed it completely like stuff like that what I’m watching is just so deflating as a fan yeah I mean there were so many silly turnovers in tonight’s game I know we got off topic from the Draymond Green
Thing but I mean I just you know it’s a brief thing to talk about but like Ivy had a drive ball goes out of bounds they were trying to inbound it to Cade there was a Brooklyn Net right there they tapped it out and then I think it goes
Off Cade and now it’s Brooklyn’s ball there was just so many sloppy turnovers in this in the game against Brooklyn that I watched I watched a high school game the other day that I was broadcasting and I think there was less turnovers than that and there were a lot of turnovers
In that game and it was just I don’t know what was worse from what I was watching the Pistons were that game and I don’t know how you do it if you’re Kade Cunningham night in and Night Out playing for this team when it seems like
All hope is completely lost on it I told you like they haven’t committed to build around him like they’re just making his life more difficult than it needs to be he’s the Kevin Kno was a savior tonight like he was hitting shots he was cutting he’s getting to the rim it’s
Just like this is where we’re at right now no shot at Kevin Knox good basketball player but not looking good so Paul Pierce he said something crazy man he said points against the Pistons or the Spurs right now Paul Pierce will be remembered for being a great basketball player but there are a
Lot of basketball fans right now that will remember him for the ridiculous takes he has on whatever po or whatever show he’s on versus how good of a basketball player he was he’s been out of the league for a while now and he’s not Michael Jordan dude he can’t retire
For a few years and come back and drop 23 a game for the Washington Wizards I don’t think he dude could you imagine assar Thompson guarding Paul Pierce right now he would shut him down yeah there there’s no I don’t know like I’m not saying Paul Pierce couldn’t
Score against the Pistons because I think there would be a couple of open shots depending on what team he was on D there’s no way he puts 20 points up against the Detroit Pistons right now and I would love for a team just to sign Paul Pierce right now for like a 10day
When the Pistons are coming up could do it that should be that would be exciting for me that’s never gonna happen was it like 47 48 uh the one thing I did like obviously you know I’m a piston fan but the one thing I laughed at and probably
Shouldn’t have is he said if you see San Antonio or Detroit on the schedule in year a slump you cannot wait to see these teams he called them slump Busters and I lost it because there there’s some people on Twitter looking at uh Mel Bridges uh numbers over the last couple
Of days and he’s been shooting like God awful uh from the field I haven’t looked what he finished with tonight but I’m about to just for context and yeah he had one of his better games shot nine uh well n 17 from the field had 29 Points 10 for 10 from
The free throw line um so he had a better game maybe Paul Pierce wasn’t wrong when he says when you’re reversing these rebuilding teams you can’t wait to get back into your groove no I do it for Fantasy anytime there’s like a good guy
On the waiver wire to pick up I see if they’re playing Detroit sometime and I’m like dude might pick them up you know because the starters might sit pretty early in this game I might as well go grab a bench piece and see if they do
Something I’m kidding by the way I don’t do that all the time but I’m trying to win I mean it’s all good but I said uh Paul Pierce is a fool I I think he’s still kind of salty over just you know the golden the work Pistons kicking his
Ass all those years and by the time that they did win golden the work Pistons were you know basically old and johy wasn’t there anymore neither was Ben Wallace yeah like also with the Chicago Bulls yeah didn’t didn’t win until he had kg and Ray Allen and Rondo and all
Those guys Rondo finally you know you know coming into his own so I don’t know J don’t forget big perk bro big perk was on that team I also that um Paul Pierce is a little salty because he didn’t get the farewell tour that Kobe Bryant got I don’t know
If I don’t remember if you like when Draymond Green says you’re not Kobe They Don’t Love You like that that would dude that’s an all-time NBA quote it’s one of the best and I love Draymond Green just for that stuff right there dude but Paul Pierce there’s no way he
Could drop 20 points on the Pistons or the Spurs Victor W banama would have a career high in blocks if Paul Pierce was playing but I still would love to see Paul Pierce sign a 10day with the team playing and dude put your money where your mouth is dude see if you can
Actually drop 20 points against the Pistons see probably couldn’t even sign with the big three right now man he’s old like yeah I think he’s probably like 45 years old there’s no way there’s no way someone said you know his hip would break you’re probably right like he’s
Just talking to talk even kg told him to stop he said he was being disrespectful good I’m glad kg put him in his place you know when kg is the voice of reason you know it the conversation’s gone bad yeah and it’s over pretty quickly
So so I don’t trust this FR front office to build a contender rout Kate Cunningham dude I was I was hurt we were just talking about this a second ago when I saw that clip of him walking back to the bench during the Utah Jazz game where he looked visibly upset like he
Just looked like he was done like he was gonna pack his bags and just go back to college and just say dude someone else redraft me it was just so bad but that was that moment right there and I said it last week on the podcast where if
This is still the front office going into this off season I don’t see Kate Cunningham ever winning in in Detroit in a Pistons uniform like I just don’t see it cause dude the rebuild hasn’t gone we’re essentially in year one when it comes to the rebuild and I just don’t see how
This front office does it and actually builds a contender around K but what do you think do you actually think this front office can could build a competitive team around Cade it’s hard to say really because I haven’t seen it like I I believe Troy’s first year before the Pistons did land
The number one overall pick he goes out and he trades for Jeremy Grant a sign a trade he goes out and gets Mason plumbley like that was probably the most active I ever saw him I was like okay you know you know Jeremy Grant good player Mason plumbley at the time was a
Serviceable back up uh you know was okay defensively could run a dribble handoff offense um I I don’t know man it’s just like could he build a a team around Cade sure the front office told the fans this Summer that they wanted to evaluate this team because they didn’t feel like there
Was a free agent this past summer that really moved the needle for them and if you look at free AG agency this summer it’s actually worse um and there there was a clip by AR tellum that I had posted this week and that that’s basically what he said
Nellums you know a high level executive yeah with Tom Gores and Troy Weaver and you know Tom gor said you know the only two people that are making th those kind of decisions are me and Troy which I don’t I personally don’t buy I think
Aron does have a say um you know he’s a really high level executive for the Pistons he’s he’s a VP uh of the organization I trust Troy if they let him do his job and not not metal and ask him why he’s gonna do this why is he
Gonna do that um but I think he he would have to make moves like he did on draft night he would have to make moves like he did his first year here in Detroit at free agency try to get guys try to get vets to build around K try to get some
Three and D Wings try to get some perimeter shooting you know get a a veteran big man to back up dur and get some vets that can help this team win and also contribute to winning um I think you can do it in the trade market in free agency but I don’t really
Know if we’re gonna get that Troy going to get that chance um it’s so conflicting like are you gonna let him write this ship because he did create this mess or are you going to fire him at the end of the year like if they’re going to fire him at the end of
The year I’d rather them do it now rather than him make trades and then set this team back a little bit farther yeah I I can’t agree with you any more I think you said it perfectly I just don’t know what Troy is waiting for as a GM like I said it last
Week too I just feel like they’re in this process level Sixers moment right now where they’re just hoping they’re bad enough every single year to get a high Lottery Pick and they can find a superstar to lead this team like they’re looking for their NE they’re looking for
The next Jo LM beat or something like that I don’t know if they’re gonna find that guy this year in this draft it doesn’t look it doesn’t seem like it I was talking to a client today too that he thinks the Pistons are tanking and being so bad so they
Have a chance of draft drafting Cooper flag but it’s like dude you’re gonna waste three more years of Kade Cunningham jayen Ivy and Duren for a chance at a guy that you probably don’t even get they did that with Victor last year it didn’t pan out no it didn’t
And I mean I was one of the guys that thought you heard me on this podcast that we were gonna win 28 to 32 wins I thought healthy buan healthy Cade Jaden Ivy taking another step as a basketball player Jaylen Duren taking another step as a basketball player Monte Morris
Coming to the Pistons Joe Harr is coming to the Pistons I thought that was a pretty good nucleus of players right there where you were actually showing me as a fan that you were ready to compete in Kade in kade’s third year in the NBA that you were really GNA take a step
Forward but none of the moves have worked out you’ve been silent I don’t even know if Troy’s at the games oh he is okay good because they don’t show him on the Jumbo Tron it seems like seems like every time last year you always saw him at the games but
Anyways it’s just I don’t trust this I just don’t trust the front office I just don’t I don’t see Troy writing this ship I think it’s gonna be another guy that comes in and I’m nervous about another guy coming in because what if he’s like dude I don’t like this young core I’m
Just going to break it all up and even though I’ve talked about that a few times on this podcast but they have moment together on the floor where you’re like maybe this could work you know maybe maybe we should give these guys a little bit more of a chance to
See if they can Jael but you need to have other pieces around them and again like I said I don’t see Troy doing it and I don’t know if that’s Troy’s fault or if it’s the other guys in the front office handcuffing him so he can’t make
Those decisions but I’m also with you like if maybe Troy is not really the GM we thought he was does he deserve an opportunity to fix this mess and is there also is a thought like maybe he makes it worse here’s the thing and I’m I’m going
To say something and people might laugh at it I don’t honestly think Troy has full control of what he actually does I I just don’t I I think Tom is very involved and like if you’re you own a team you obviously want to be involved in some level I’m not
Giving Troy a pass either I I think some of the moves he’s made they don’t really make sense at times but I don’t really think he has like full reign of what he wants to do like when he in the front office told fans that they want to evaluate this
Team I was all like okay fine you can evaluate this team that’s cool but not doing a single thing in free agency like yeah you traded for Monte Morris who’s a good backup point guard but we haven’t seen him play basketball yet um and he might not even play basketball he might
Be on the the trade block who knows he’s on the last year of a deal uh you you trade for Joe Harris who you know statistically if you look throughout his career good three-point shooter but like he hasn’t really shot the ball um like you want him to and like defensively
It’s it’s just a mess yeah I think my biggest issue is you could have gone out I’m not saying you know go do what the Rockets did and spend like huge amounts of money but I I I’ve told you before like what do you think it would have cost to get
Like maybe a Kelly UB like you’re not going to get him for aets minimum but maybe a mid-level exception around there around that 10 million price point like I would be okay with that I would be okay like you g give Kelly UB 10 million
For a year and see if it works see if he can contribute and he’s having a hell of a season right now with the Philadelphia 76ers I feel like you can evaluate this team but you can still add pieces that complement your core players um you added veterans that are on the
Last year of their deal and I don’t really think Joe Harris compliments anyone on this roster when you already have a sharp shooter and ellic Burks I don’t really think there was a need for a Joe Harris on this team if anything you just helped Brooklyn resign cam
Johnson I know a lot of Pistons fans want a cam Johnson mon Morris I get from the standpoint of you wanted to improve the backup point card position but he hasn’t played I I don’t know if he’s going to play a single game in a piston uniform with the trade
Deadline um you know officially open now you you can make trades up until February um so that that’s just like my take on it like I I think Troy is the GM but I don’t really think he has full say or full rein what he can actually do I
Think he can make a trade if he wants to but maybe Tom gor doesn’t like that guy maybe Tom gor doesn’t feel like he’s really a piece that can help this team win like in that article he he just mentioned about C flexibility and if I hear cap flexibility one more damn time
Bro I swear I’m going to punch a wall like don’t throw cap flexibility to me like it’s this big flex and oh we got cap flexibility oh we’re waiting to make a move like what do you waiting for a superstar just to land in your lap it’s
Not going to happen you have to eventually sign players to help this team win if you’re just going to signed these bets in the last year of the deal you’re going to be eight nine 10 years down the road and you’re still going to be re building all the players that you
Draft in the top five are going to need rookie scale extensions and you’re probably going to have to make a decision which one you actually want like I I’m just over this cap flexibility thing that they try to sell the fans because it’s just pure man like actually use your cap space
Like commit to somebody like do something like you’re I’m sick of seeing Cade look like he he he just doesn’t want to be here anymore like his body langage I could get it’s he’s doing everything he can and they’re still losing Like That Jazz game he did
Everything he could and they still lost um you know the the night after that like he he was playing good basketball he almost had triple double they had obviously six turnovers but they still lost like I feel bad for the guy like actually build around your first overall
Pick and try to help him succeed don’t make his life more difficult dude he also had the 43-point game and I don’t think they were close to winning that game it was crazy and man you said so much too I was sorry man I’m so sped
Up no you’re good and it was great it was perfect it’s just like I said earlier I was okay with the minimal moves because you wanted to evaluate the roster but I didn’t think we’d be playing 10 11 guys every single game I thought the roster I thought the
Rotation would be like nine guys the nine guys you wanted to evaluate I thought you would I thought they were going to help him take a take K take the Pistons to another level I don’t know but man looking back to last off season and not doing anything and just sticking
With this roster and then being proud that you have seven or eight guys that are under the age of 22 or whatever Tom cor has said and it’s just okay but they’re not doing anything and they’re not winning you’re putting them all in a terrible position and who cares if they’re young because
Once they establish a culture of losing it doesn’t matter so I’m just I’m over it like I said I don’t believe in this front office and change is coming but again we’re in probably for another three four years of this losing basketball and just watching Cade potentially put up you know great good
To Great numbers maybe even flirt with being an All-Star a for a couple of seasons and then for what just to see him get traded when he’s 28 29 years old go to a playoff team and then watch him have this he’s basically Matthew Stafford that’s what it seems like and
Why does this keep happening in Detroit sucks you know what like I I get when Troy got here the the message was to accumulate talent and they have that okay um my fear and we’ll move on after this next Point yeah my fear is they’re going to accumulate so much top five pick
That they’re going to try to bulk of them away for that quote unquote you know big fish that this front office keeps trying to sell fans like Devon Booker isn’t gonna land in your lap right like I I don’t know who the hell they’re waiting for dude I really don’t
Like um you can sign players like yeah people like oh no one wants to come here you’re probably right you’re not g to get like a Luca donic a Giannis you’re not getting those star players you can get lower to mid- tier guys to come here you really can because at the
End of the day the paycheck is the same yeah it really is um I don’t know if Troy’s going to get fired like that that article from the athletic was really conflicting like they say they want to make changes but at the same time it it
Seems like they just want to dip their toe in the water and they just don’t want to you know dive in and actually make change it feels like just a just like oh we trade Alec Burks for a second round pick hey we did something like I think this this team and this
Organization needs to look themselves in the mirror and say you know enough is enough look we have to do something yeah 26 losses in a row you know you tied the tanking 76ers in the Cavs you’re about to break a record from the tanking 76ers
That was 20 28 games over a two season span you’re about to do it in one season there’s debates out there right now saying are the Detroit Pistons the worst team in NBA history like if I’m an owner dude I’m doing something I’m making a trade I’m
I’m asking my GM like why didn’t why didn’t we do anything why like what is this 26 26 losses in a row you’re okay with that you got do something man like fans are pissed off even I’ve seen kind of like a a shift in media media’s starting
To be like you know what like enough’s enough yeah these fans don’t deserve it they spend their harder money at games someone said the Pistons are 15th in attendance you give them a winner dude they’re like top five and they’re 15th in attendance with a 26 game losing streak right now like
What I I I’m done man I’m done on this topic I know I went off I’m frustrated with this it something has to change obviously he’s not gonna sell the team because he donates the charity or some like that I don’t know man like I’m I’m just so over this yeah
We’ll get into all that here in a second so this next topic is not to piss Pistons fans off I simply found it on another podcast I thought it was interesting it’s just the conversation so out of jayen Ivy Jaylen dur and assar Thompson who would be the
Easiest to replace like if Troy Weaver like one of his final moves is trading one of these guys away you know who do we think like okay you know I get it we could find another guy to fulfill his role out of those three and I personally I know I’m probably gonna be
I think it’d be tough to replace either of them because they’re all pretty unique in a certain way I I do think jayen Ivy would be the easiest to replace in terms of finding a guard that can get to the rim and put pressure that way can break
It down a defense with his dribble I do think because I mean the NBA is full of great athletes I do think it’d be easier to replace him I also think it would be a little easier to replace a Jaylen durran versus an assar Thompson just
Because the skill of the big guys coming into the NBA is just tremendous they’re not really project as much anymore like I remember when we first started doing this podcast and we were in the middle of that draft where they drafted Jayden Ivy they drafted Jaylen Duran I
Personally would have been okay with a Mark Williams or a walker Kesler I still think those are fantastic young big guys or even like a Derek Lively I mean even Marvin baggley looks pretty good when he plays with Cade so I do think finding a rim rolling Center is a lot is pretty
Easy to find but out of these three I still think it’s jayen Ivy that’s the easiest to replace but I want to hear your thoughts Anna I think with each player you have to ask questions so I’ll start with assar do you think assar is closer to
That kawhai Arch type or is he closer to Andre Andre Roberson those are the questions you have to ask yourself and you don’t have that big of a sample size with assar assar is that prototypical Wing that can play defense he can pass and if the jump shot develops you have a
Two-way player but those are the type of conversations you have to ask yourself like can assar be that type of player can he be that kawh Leonard archetype can he be that prototypical three and D Wing that so many teams love um and I don’t know
Because I’m not gonna write off a player and he hasn’t even played a 100 career games yet that’s fair Jaden jadeen iy’s hard for me because you know I was really high on him coming out the draft still very high on jadeen Ivy I don’t think you can replace that athleticism in
Speed but I do think you can replace a guard that can get to the basket uh because we we did see him tonight he got to the back got to the free throw line quite a lot yeah um and the kid is such a hard worker I see the development in
His game but defensively he has you leaving onean more so that that’s another question you have to ask yourself like do you buy into the development of Jaden Ivy continuing to get better not only offensively but also defensively and for me I I I just don’t know yet um and like finally with
Durren another question is he close closer to a Clint capella or do you believe he could be like a Dwight Howard light do you think he’s just gonna be this post presence do you think Rasheed Wallace says he has a a mid-range game in an outside shot I haven’t seen him
Really do it yet yeah who am I to say that Rasheed Wallace doesn’t know what he’s talking about he coached him for a few years at Memphis maybe he does have a mid-range jump shot and we just we’re not seeing it right now cu the coach staff is limiting what his role actually
Is I think that’s the question you have to ask yourself but to answer your question which one of these players is easiest to replace I would probably say jayen Ivy but I don’t want to replace either any of these guys yeah neither do I neither do I I really don’t
Like I feel like the value you could get for these guys I feel like Duren would probably get you the most in any type of trade I told you that before we went on the podcast yeah I think he has such a high ceiling that he could be in the conversation as
A top 15 maybe top 10 Center one day I I really do he just has to stay healthy and we finally saw him in some ankle braces thank god um saw that like like a sar Thompson like I was thinking about it today like I like who’s a good
Perimeter Defender but just could not shoot a three-point shot in the first guy that popped in my head was Andre Roberson from OKC like he was a hell of a Defender but he could not shoot for anything but I think assar Thompson can develop a jump shot he he’s much like
Jade iy like he can he’s he’s willing to put in the work so I kind of trust his development I I trust him to get better but I don’t know man this is such a hard conversation for me because I’m high in all all three of these guys I I would be
Heartbroken if we traded any of these guys I really would even though that they haven’t really won a whole lot for the Pistons I’ve invested my time and energy watching these guys grow um obviously ivy last year and Duren last year and assar like I know you were kind of
Disappointed when we drafted assar because I remember the the podcast we had on draft night like dude really AAR and then we we watch him in summer like you’re like dude I was so wrong this guy’s amazing I’ve taken a lot of L’s on this podcast believe me I saw have I so
Have I dude I have more bad sweets on freezing cold takes than I probably have the good sweets on my Twitter like I really do and I’ll admit that I’m a dumbass sometimes um I wear my heart on my sleeve and I I have like really bad
Takes I will admit that but I don’t know man like that’s such a hard question it is it is and I’m looking back on his line like he had 24 against Utah he had 23 Brooklyn he was getting to the rim putting a lot of pressure there he was hitting some three-point
Shots getting to the free throw line good amount of of rebounds good amount of assists even had three Steals and two blocks against Utah I know it was their g-league team but still that’s still incredible I just I even hate saying it dude but I do
Think it’s easier to find a two guard that can do it jayen Ivy does but I’m also in the same breath I’m like dude but you can find a big that can do all the stuff Duran can do maybe not at the highest level like we’ve seen from during this year where
He was like I think what a 1515 game he were saying with like five blocks like that is like the absolute peak of what he can do and if he could continue that yeah he’d be the hardest to replace but I do think it comes down to jayen Ivy
And Jaylen dur on like if you were just to trade one of them just to try to get as much as you could those would be the two I think you would trade because I do really believe in assar I think he’s gonna be more Andre gadala than anybody
On this team and that is a guy that I could really see succeeding alongside Kade Cunningham but yeah you’re right tough tough question man and a tough topic yeah like people say like oh we don’t know basketball but we want to trade j i and Jay we’re not saying we’re
Gonna We want to trade them I think this is a a lot of our topics are very heavily debated in the chat when I clip these and put them on YouTube um and that’s what the podcast for the podcast is for this podcast is for the fans it’s for
You guys it’s for you guys in chat that I can’t even keep keep up with right now because there’s so many damn comments and I do really appreciate that I really do um I honestly couldn’t even give you an answer I didn’t want to give an
Answer I really didn’t like I I don’t think you can replace Jaden Ivy’s athleticism I said that I I don’t think you can replace his his speed um I don’t think you can replace assar Thompson’s processing of the game because he processes stuff at such an elite rate
That you can’t teach stuff like that like there everything all the all three of these players have skills that you just can’t teach and I’ll leave it at that that’s fine dude let’s um get into this Tom Gores debate or topics or reactions we should say okay for sure um so I took
About four quotes out of this athletic article if you’re not subscribed to the athletic we’re going to put some of these quotes on the screen and we’re going to react to each one of them so this first quote is a question from one of the reporters and he said when you talked
With the front office and coaching staff before the season what were the expectations everyone had for this group this is what Tom Gores had to say we wanted to be competing every day a chance for the playin playoffs we wanted our players to grow that would have been success for us
That’s what we discussed we knew we had a lot of growing to do those were the expectations to compete grow and be near the playoffs that’s how you grow the most make no mistake about it that was the expectation bro like the first time I read this uh piece from James Edwards
Of the athletic I was mad but the more I read the article like all the quotes I started laughing I just started laughing I was like I had no idea that they expectations was to make the playoffs because our own GM says you know hey like we want to play meaningful games
Down the stretch he never said playoffs that’s news to me I’m sure it’s news to a lot of people watching too yeah I thought it was just the fans that had the expectations of making the playoffs because and that’s kind of weird too because it seems like Troy
Weaver and Tom Gores and probably you can even probably throw Monty Williams in there they’re all on different pages they all have different expectations for this season but Tom Gores thought we were going to the playoffs and it makes me laugh too because I just I imagine
Them all sitting at like a big round table like sitting in some office like at the at LCA and they’re like good enough good enough this roster is complete ready to compete and that was probably just the model of the whole offseason complete and ready to compete
And it just dude it just cracks me up thinking about because like I how did he look at this team and just say you know what that’s good enough let’s just let’s roll with it guys Troy you did a good job and then Troy’s like whoa whoa whoa
Whoa I didn’t do enough you know like I you wouldn’t let me do enough you want playoffs I’m saying we’re gonna have to take it easy and we got abs none of these guys were on none of these guys were right for this year I want to give
A shout out to uh my guy easy who works at Woodward and has his own show Woodward heavyweight shout out to those guys so he had actually clipped a reporter asking um like what are the expectations and like Troy like froze up with like and he looked at Tom and then
Tom like looked at him like you want to answer I like no you can answer and then like Tom Gores answers and I was just like dude that’s such a bad luck when your GM can’t even answer a question uh because because the question is a tough question and the owner has to
Answer it like when I saw that I I remember like watching that press conference but I forgot that moment I was like wow he can’t even answer just a like no we don’t think we’re ready for the playoffs yet we obviously that’s the goal we want to you know get to that
Point but we don’t think we’re there yet you have to have your owner speak for you that to me like that was just such a red flag I mean you kind of gotta think that kind of sucks for Troy though in a in an aspect as as well
Like he maybe he did want to answer the question but he’s like dude Tom is going to hate the answer that I give because I was not expecting playoffs so I’m just gonna let him take the mic and answer this question but I do intend to agree
With you that is a bad look for Troy Weaver for sure we got more quotes though you guys not gonna disappoint you we got another quote uh from the same article from the athletic now this question was about are you going to make any changes to the front office or the
Coaching staff and this is what Tom gor had to say he said I think the thing that probably can’t be seen right now is that we cleaned a lot of stuff up where with our player contracts in the last two years one thing that has been
On my mind and I think it’s important for fans to hear and actually and I actually talk with the players about this the other day within all of their losses that we still have a very good future number one we have an amazing set of young players who are
High character and high Talent this set this set of players and I know them individually I saw them the other day we are in a great spot with our young talent I think seven or eight players are under 22 they’re young number two we have set ourselves up in a way that the
Contracts are flexible you guys know we had all these contracts that really handicapped us for a certain vision and we couldn’t be nimble we are also set up with a lot of cap space and you guys know I’m willing to do whatever it takes for this organization to be flexible H what do
You know cap flexibility again ah gonna shoot me in the foot um I’ll let you go for this one man because I when I was reading this I just started laughing I was like you gotta be kidding me that quote seems like he’s like he’s still back in like
2021 you know where he talks about like yeah we didn’t have cap flexibility we had those contracts that were hand dude that’s like two that was two seasons ago we haven’t had contracts like that in a while I mean unless I’m mistaken so I mean what are we talking when when did
Blake come off the books yeah like like three years ago so I mean what are we even talking about when we’re for two seasons now they had plenty of space to do things and to build a winning team and I mean I didn’t expect him just to
Like fire someone right on the spot but that would have been hilarious if he was just on you know just at that press conference he’s like he looks at Troy he’s like by the way dude you’re gone like you’re fired and this just like oh okay I thought we were still friends or
Something but anyways it’s just I like how he just deflects and deflex and deflex and then just tries to be like yeah but look at all these other things we got yeah we’re not winning but we got young players they’re cool guys I I just
I just I just saw them the other day they were playing basketball they looked pretty good I know we haven’t won but like they’re good guys you know it’s just it’s so stupid dude it’s such a weak it’s a pretty weak quote from an owner in my opinion yeah
So he deflected the question he didn’t answer the question and I found it funny um the fact that he’s like yeah we have eight or nine guys that are under the age of 22 I was like yeah that’s kind of part of the problem yeah it’s the it’s a
Big problem like you can have young talent but you don’t really have any veterans that are helping you win or helping these players get better um I I I laughed at that 100% because he he mentioned C flexibility again and you know every time I hear that I just
Scream because they’ve had it for a couple of years they have and I don’t know what yeah he’s he’s living in a time machine or something I don’t know shout out to crispy ples if you haven’t seen his Tom gor’s video go watch it you guys will laugh thing that
That video deserves an Emmy I was crying um now this is another quote for him from this article basically they asked him what’s the long-term plan and he said I think it has to be in the near future we have to we have to have urgency it’s not
Going well I’m apologizing to the fans it’s not going well it’s our job to create urgency around it I don’t think there’s a timeline other than soon as possible we have to figure out how to write this ship the ship is not sinking brother it’s a Titanic but we have to
Write this ship something something’s not exactly right we we have to be honest enough with ourself and not be stuck in in a strategy the worst leaders don’t know how to adjust we have to navigate and adjust whatever strategy we had isn’t quite working we’ve had a a
Lot of bad luck tough schedule injuries young Team No Excuses with without all that bad luck maybe we have five uh more five more wins who knows but we’re not set up right now to be a championship team we need our young crew to grow um what the
it’s not sinking bro it’s not s your ship hasn’t syned bro they they torpedoed you like the ship has sank like how can you say that you’re in a 26 game losing streak now and you think that the ship hasn’t sank it’s at the bottom of the ocean right now and kad’s
Above water on a life check he’s the only one that’s probably above water keeping trying to keep you above water um the strategy is not working what was the strategy I’d love to know yeah they give us any of that and then I like how says there’s no excuses after listing
Excuses and then again focuses way too much on the young guys like I don’t I don’t get it it’s so it’s bad I agree with you when when does this ship sink I mean is it taking on water is half of it up the other half under water I don’t
Know are people jumping off because that’s what it seems like but hey dude he’s the owner of the team and you know this is the message he’s giving us H how how how do you say the ship hasn’t sank yet like what what to him is was it 50
Losses in a row maybe it sank like what’s the Tipping Point with him what’s the number like I don’t get it it’s when the arena is empty and you can hear the players on the court that’s a sinking chip apparently man like when I I just really
Hyperfocus on the ship not sinking and then he mentioned he’s like no excuses with anything and then he mentions tough schedule injuries and bad luck I was like okay you said no excuses what the is it which the is it dude like come on make up your mind
Oh so there’s about one more quote and man this this this one is probably the best it is it’s about him hearing fans saying sell the team this by far is the best quote in my opinion he says they can say what they want but that’s ridiculous other than
Winning and we should win more games we do a lot in the community players the organization we do a lot in the community if you put aside winning we’ve made we’ve made a be a very big difference in the community that means a lot to me I understand that’s only going
To mean a lot to people if we win but the underwork of what’s happening with our community over all these years is there we’re doing a multi-billion dollar things outside of basketball I understand fans are upset but it’s a ridiculous thought okay for one thing I’m not going to be disrespectful in
Terms of him building basketball courts around the city you know giving money to underprivileged kids I think that’s great but I think fans are entitled to say what they want if they consume the product um it’s a ridiculous thing to say like since you purchased a team this
Team has made the playoffs twice and they’ve gotten swept um this once great organization that wasn’t a laughing stock people took seriously we’re so far removed from the going to work 2004 Detroit Pistons that we’re the laughing stock of the NBA right now ESPN makes a post every day
From Pistons fans just drowning in this 26 game loss everything he’s done off the court you know investing into the city you know I’m not going to be disrespectful about it but I think if you had that same type of energy of making your basketball team better fans wouldn’t be on your
Ass I’m with you the community stuff is great but also it’s that’s not the job of the Pistons organization there sole purpose for existing is to win basketball games like the community stuff is great and I can’t believe I’m about to say this but like the basketball team is your number one priority
Like it doesn’t the that other stuff is it’s great but it doesn’t matter as much when you’re so reason for existing is to win basketball games so I don’t I don’t get it there was someone on Twitter it made me laugh what he said he said people wouldn’t care if the Pistons were
Selling drugs as long as you’re a winning basketball team shout out to kingy man he’s funny as hell I saw that earlier bro I was dying and right like I mean not I’m not going to get into any like politics or anything like that but like we have set up to help
Help the community and I don’t even know all the things the Pistons have done in the community because like I’m so invested in them winning and that is the thing I care about most when it comes to the Pistons cool that you’re winning off the court
But have the same energy on the court yeah yeah like it I I like that he’s investing in the city of Detroit and he he does charity events every year this time of year um he’s built tons of basketball courts around the city of Detroit that’s great and all but
Like when fans were chanting sell the team I don’t really that’s kind of just been the chatter over the last month and a half of this like he he bought it for 300 million the team I think’s evaluated right now like at 1.4 1.5 billion that remark basically told me
I’m not going anywhere I’m not selling this team yeah and like if that’s the case you’re not selling this team put that same energy off the court that you put on the court you know invest into the Detroit Pistons invest into making this team better invest in into surrounding your you know franchise
Player and Kate Cunningham with real talent you say you want to see this team win you say you you’ve said for years I’ll go over the luxury tax if it makes sense like actually invest into your basketball team like Matt isia is doing right now with the Phoenix Suns like
Actually go for it like if it if he fails that’s fine at least he went for it at least he had a vision like that that’s the type of thing that I think Pistons fans want obviously we don’t have the like the players that the Suns
Had or anything like that but I think that’s the only thing that piss like if you actually try and you show respect and you’re willing to put in the work to make the product better like Pistons fans like dude they are the most loyal fans that you’ll ever meet and they’re
Chill they’re respectful for the most part I mean some of you guys are send me some really crazy on social media but I do love you guys for that but overall like just the Pistons Community they’re supportive of each other they want this basketball team to be good you’re 15th in attendance and
You’re the worst team in the league like if you actually invest into the product making the product better fans aren’t GNA be chanting sell the team they’re not I mean he’s also a billionaire so he could still do these things for the community even if he didn’t own the
Pistons yeah it’s like said it’s typical rich guy syndrome do we have any uh Q&A questions no we got a ton this is probably our most viewed podcast that we’ve ever had um we have 220 people watching right now so shout out to you guys for actually watching us
So close to the holidays I thought you guys would be with your family and we probably wouldn’t get any people watching but um we do have some questions um we’ll try to answer a couple uh this comes from from Red Baron uh this was earlier in the podcast I did
Start he said you guys think Stewart could command multiple picks I think he might actually no I think I think I said it at the beginning of the podcast I don’t think he could get us multiple picks I don’t even know if he could get any I
Think yeah maybe he could probably do a couple of second round picks I don’t know if a team would be willing to trade it first I said if we were picking out of Boston OKC and I forget the other team I think it was Philadelphia no Dallas I think I’d go with Boston
Because I like Sam Hower maybe possibly back in a trade but I really don’t know what you could get for Isaiah Stewart I think if the Pistons do ultimately trade him theyd probably get less back than what actually his value is yeah I don’t I don’t know about multiple picks uh Red Baron Um unless they were like second round picks or maybe late you could probably get like a late first but you could probably get multiple seconds I don’t know if you really if you’re still watching if you want to specify um but I think he’s valuable I
Think he’s more valuable as a you know ninth 10th Man off your bench rather than what we’re using him for as a starter but um I I’m not really sure like what his value actually is but we do appreciate the question for sure let’s see this was a question from Brian on
Facebook I don’t know if he’s still watching I’ve actually seen this a lot it’s not really a question but I thought we could talk about it he’s like I try to get kozma whiz want to unload him see if we can package some of our guys um honestly think Kyle kzo would
Actually fit on this team really well oh he’d be a fun running mate with Kade he’d be a cool three four you could play him along with Duren too I mean if you’re trading like Joe Harris for him that’d be pretty cool I would definitely
Take it and I think he’s on a I mean also his championship experience as well I would definitely take a Kyle kosma on this um Pistons team yeah I I think he signed for it was a $30 million contract uh aav I’m not 100% sure what the long-term
Deal is for him but I do remember it being like over 30 mil if uh memory does serve let me look it up real quick got it pulled up four years 90 million okay that’s not even that bad I mean honestly like he he can you know create for himself he can shoot
Threes obviously he’s not a lock down Defender but I mean why not it’s also front loaded so he’s getting 25 million this year but at the end of it he’s getting 19 million when he’s 31 I love when there’s front loaded contracts h yeah I mean I wouldn’t be
Opposed to it I really wouldn’t um I mean if you can kind of get a deal done with Washington why not um they’re in a similar boat as you they just started rebuilding but they’re rebuilding um you know maybe you can uh get a deal done where you can bring guzma
Home now this is a comment from Ryan it’s not even a question but I do want to put it on the screen because we do have fans that are older than us that experience the bad boys and he’s one of them he said this pisses me off so bad
Never wavered in fandom since the late 80s considering it now love most of our young guys hate vets they can’t throw a beach ball in an ocean if they were stuck on a raft I love that analogy that’s awesome oh my gosh God I love shout out
To Ryan man shout out to the Og man I see him in here from all the time but couldn’t throw a beach they were stuck on a raft oh man I love that I just wanted to put that comment because I saw it earlier I was like dude that’s awesome I
Like when I read that analogy I tried to just keep a straight face um this is a comment from Sports on air he ask what do you guys think about Tobias Tobias Harris and ogn and Obi can we get both I know we talked about it
Last week and I think I was under the belief of it’s either one or the other I don’t think you have the assets to get both and I think the only player that’s getable is Tobias because it sounds like Toronto is has no plans of even moving
Him it was just smoked from another GM um and like even Pascal cakam because I know some people ask like uh would you risk it and trade for Pascal seak both of Pascal seak manoi and anobi had basically said that if they did get traded they wouldn’t resign with the
Team that traded for him so um I’ve already said it before I wouldn’t I think Tobias Harris is a bandaid on this team and I don’t see him resigning to such a bad roster but if you can make some quick improvements during the season I would definitely try
To sign him in the off season in OG I think he’s kind of having a down year I think he is obtainable I do think you’d have to throw a lot at Toronto to bring him in but then again it’s the cost of signing him as well and will he walk at
The end of the season so I don’t know if he’s under contract past this season yeah I mean like I I had told you I I think that um a guy like Tobias is more getable than a ogan anobi like I honestly think you could package a player like boan in some
Pieces and get Tobias if you really wanted them and obviously to bias is familiar with the Pistons and the organization yeah um not really sure if he would want to be here but like hey if the money’s right the money’s right like if he could get another big contract
Like he got uh when he signed maybe he would come here but like at the end of the day do you really want to overpay for Tobias Harris at the end of the day I’m not entirely sure if uh the front office would but I’ll let fans decide
That because I’m kind of like 5050 because like I feel like Tobias could help this team but I don’t really think he would help this team in terms of like really pushing them like over the hump and I don’t really think anyone player could do that that’s getable for the
Pistons I should specify with that like I I think there are players that are getable for the Pistons but I don’t think there’s a one individual player that can actually kind of push him over the hump if that makes sense and real quick before we go to the next question
OG is on a player option for next season for 19 million and I don’t see him letting I still I see him picking up on that I don’t see him breaking that I know you said I think one time he might command like 30 million I just don’t see
It after this season oh yeah yeah those are my thoughts on OG though because he’ll also be 27 next year I think he signs in to that player option but then he becomes an unrestricted free agent the following off season yeah I mean I I don’t know it’s it’s pretty interesting
Um do have a question from case crack to him he does watch from time to time I do see him in here uh why trade for a guy you can try to get in the offseason that that’s that’s a great Point yeah that is a great point siakam’s a free agent you
Could just wait you just yeah Tobias is a free agent that’s that’s a great Point like you literally could I think the only way organizations really do that is if they’re worried that other teams are going to jump them in free agency now I I don’t
Know if if the Pistons are list like chips are all in on a OG and anobi or chips are all in on a Tobias Harris if that was the case then yeah that was the case that’s kind of funny um but I I think the main reason
Why organizations do that is they kind of just want to get the jump before other teams um to offer them I’m trying to think of a a recent player that we did this with I think Marvin Bagley was the last uh Marvin Bagley was on the last year of his deal
And we offered him a crap load not I wouldn’t say a crap load but we did offer him a pretty good contract but I don’t really think there are other teams around the league that would probably offer him that personally it’s not even I don’t think
It’s that bad of a contract anyway I mean he’s a decent player especially when you pair him with Kade yeah I I just don’t know if there were a lot of teams around the NBA that would probably offer him that not to say he doesn’t deserve it I mean I feel like
He’s improved a lot this season um as a rim protector and rle man and just finishing around the rim but I mean that’s the only like player of recent memory that I know the Pistons traded for and then they gave gave them the bag at the end of the year I don’t really
Think a lot of teams were uh competing with the Pistons to resign them I feel like we get this question at least once a week um so this is from Rob shout out to Rob uh do we go for miles Bridges from the Hornets for cheap uh I don’t put it past
The organization you know what Rob you know what would not surprise me if they did I will say that the one thing the Pistons have done that it’s consistent is they’ve gone for High character guys I don’t think Miles Bridges fits that uh billing right now or that archetype of
What the Pistons are looking for decent player just I don’t know if it’s the character they’re really interested in um I think that I wouldn’t say it’s not a possibility uh Pistons side and Josh Jackson and Josh Jackson obviously wasn’t a High character guy he was one of the one
Player that Troy had brought in that wasn’t really a quote unquote High character guy right but he did make him live across the street from him that someone told me that I don’t know if that’s true or not but if it is that’s actually hilarious um but I mean I
Wouldn’t be opposed to it I wouldn’t I know like the optic art stuff like he it’s kind of a touchy subject with with with some fans I know Canada wouldn’t even let him into the country that wasil I had saw that I was just like H but it
Pistons fans want to ignore the off the court stuff and they just want a guy that can get you a bucket and be a compliment the C then yeah go for it let’s do a couple more just it’s almost it’s 11:30 it’s almost Christmas Eve I okay we’ll do couple more
Questions I said I I I just don’t I I don’t think that Miles Bridges would be out of the question I know I’ve said it like probably maybe six months ago I said out of the question but at this point where the organization is at I wouldn’t rule it out because they need
Talent at this point no we don’t really have any questions but well end the podcast we didn’t talk about this um billan beer Bill and beer it got nominated to make the Basketball Hall of Fame about time are you surprised by that um I’m just surprised that it took
As long as it has cuz he was a pretty solid player in the NBA one of the first stretch fives I mean he could shoot three he was a good rebounder good defensive player um I do feel like based on how the NBA tells the Bad Boys story he’s been kind of like
Blacklisted from it and has not gotten the respect he deserves as a player because he was so much more than just pushing guys to the floor or delivering a hard hit but that’s the only version of the bad boys the NBA tells so you don’t actually get to see the best parts
About his game so I’m really just surprised that it’s taken as long as it has because he definitely deserves that honor I’m not saying he’s one of the greatest centers to ever play but he was a very solid player and you look at some
Of the guys that are in the Hall of Fame Bill ambir deserves to be there amongst them yeah I was looking at other players that are also nominations chony Bops is one um Pistons play-by-play announcer GRE Gregory keler is also won um so maybe one piston I’ll get in um but I I
Think it’s long overdue for bill um I know some people like to attach his name to the bad boys and you know the Pistons were bad for basketball all this stuff but there are other teams in the league that were you know playing rough and
Tough um I think the bad boys just kind of get a bad rap for it and not not to mention like his NBA career W winning two championships also have to account his WNBA career as a coach too um you know winning multiple championships with two different W two different WNBA
Franchises uh with the Detroit shop and I want want to say it was the Vegas Las Vegas Aces I believe yeah so I think he deserves to be in I really do um I I think he should have been in like over 10 years ago but I’m happy that he’s
Getting the record nition and actually getting nominated who knows if he actually makes it but I hope he does man um if if you just look at him his basketball career as a player and a coach um the accolades speak for themselves yeah he deserves to get in man he really
Does yeah um I I do appreciate you guys um actually watching this during the holidays uh we’ve been on for an hour and a half Lance busted out his is piston Santa hat which that’s his dedication it is um it’s hot do appreciate you guys you know watching

What happened to Pistons YouTube? 313Jmo had one video like a month ago, I know Detroit Drew has a family, but I haven't seen a video from him in a minute, and Joe Pollo is MIA.
They switched everything on defense. They 100% don't play defense correctly
good point about the 'cap flexibility' bullshit.
doesn't matter if you have cap flexibility if you have to pay free agents double what they would normally ask because your culture and reputation has been destroyed after going 2-80. who do they think is coming here? this team already wasn't a destination, now even more so after becoming the worst team of all time. do they think a top 10 player is just gonna fall in their lap? the front office and gores are fucking clueless.
i legit wonder if any decent player would sign with the pistons unless we payed them 40-50mill/year to play
You said it at the start of the video. We got the Knicks to give us Duren so that they could sign Brunson. One reason I'm so pisssed at Weaver for not getting more from the Nets for the Pistons taking on that Harris contract. If they didn't, the Nets would have been severely over the salary cap for them to sign Cam Johnson.
Fire Casey quick no lie
I need to see a Killian Hayes trade. Isiah Stewart has till February to prove to me he deserves to stay on this team.
Joe Harris can go to.
How about Eason from Houston n witmore for bojan..we need another rebounder defender n fellaz cade might be the problem too many 4th quarter shots n turnovers smh
Even other NBA players are sticking up for the pistons young core now….
This year for Christmas I got my family Pistons tickets. At least it was cheap 🤷♂️
Oladipo has only this year of contract! He signed with the heat 1+1, and got hurt in the playoffs, and exercised his player option this season! Next year he is a free agent
I don't enjoy the trade Cade. Definitely not the issue 6 – 8 turnovers once in a while so what that comes with 28pts plus and dame near double double. Team needs to step up not HIM.
It's not funny I'm a true Detroit Piston Fan ❤ how can you laugh !! This is heart breaking 😢
DLo or trade again for Reggie Jackson are good choices for Detroit. Their guards are ass aside Cade.
Laker fan here. First of all Hell No to the Bojan for Rui or Cam trade. Bojan is 106 years old. Second of all Cam can't shoot a lick. You'd be worsening your spacing issue by acquiring him.
46:58 Matt Stafford is a Generational Talent
His arm is special
Cade isn’t that bro
That’s insulting actually
If Cade was a qb he’ll be leading the league in INTERCEPTIONS
Why don’t you post a time stamp and let us know what exactly did Tom gores say as opposed to posting a 1.5 hr worth of you babbling back and forth? Pistons used to be a proud franchise but now they’re in shamble as well as their media outlet. Just sad
Rockets are not giving up Cam Whitmore. They’re very high on his long term with the team. A trade would most likely be for a protected first and maybe Oladipo for salary purposes
If you ever wanna understand IKEA effect this video is the perfect example for that, you guys need a third perspective(who is not involved with this mess) hopefully you get a qualified personnel and solve this mess, good luck.
Trade Stew Trade STEW! Maybe go after Queta, and Svi.
WE NEED SPACING AND DEFENSE!!

Do anyone think cade should get some work in with Grant Hill?
Gores is basically Chris Illitch with a pro-longed mid-life crisis. Both got their $$$ and don't really care about Ws and Ls.
