Center um I guess I guess that’s it all right y uh good great night tonight I mean the first night of uh of of a backto back uh Kings played Phoenix tonight and then uh Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow right back here in Golden One Setter no Carl Anthony towns for that one tomorrow uh

But the the big big big big big Story coming out of tonight is uh the king’s big man himself deont sabonis had himself a night uh triple double yet again 28 points uh 11 assists 11 rebounds uh what what a performance from the Kings big man uh they’re going to

Need him tomorrow too going against goar and going against Nas Reed uh I know cat’s not gonna be there but um you know it’s it’s going to be imperative for sabonis and the rest of this team to show up tomorrow because we know uh second nights of back-to-backs have been

The Kings Kryptonite all season long and uh you know they’re they’re definitely going to have to show up against the best defensive team in the NBA and also the best team record-wise in the Western Conference so uh glad that the kings were able to at least pick up a victory

On on this back toback and frankly this three- game stretch of Celtics Suns and then Timberwolves um just good to kind of get one out of the way and and in the wind column here um as as the Kings approach the new year they really do have a pretty favorable schedule on the

Other side of Christmas so uh it’s great to see the Kings now seven games above 500 sitting at 17- 10 on the season uh that’s that is it’s crazy to say um it’s it’s really a a thing that a lot of us in the media we talking about today is

Just how nuts it is that this team is is so successful and yet it still doesn’t really feel like they’ve even touched uh where they can be at add points for this year it feels like there’s still another level for this team to go to and uh it’s

Exciting it’s exciting that you’re still able to kind of get results um and and feel like you haven’t played your best basketball yet so I think it’s a good sign it’s it’s yet another quality win for this team now two on the season against the Phoenix Suns this is

Actually the first uh official scheduled game that they played the Suns the the first game if you will remember was the inseason tournament game here at Golden One Center in which the Kings won so they’re actually going to play the Suns five times total this year uh and kings

Are already up two two on that Series so um we know that you know that those divisional records can can definitely come back to haunt you they can also definitely help you at the end of the season when it comes to TI Breakers so good on the Kings to pick up division

Wins and uh again just just kind of picking up any wins on this stretch here I think is is a major major positive so great to see there um oh you know what I said I was going to go live on Twitter as well so I might do that ah you know

Couple minutes surprised he actually finished with 10 points uh 13 minutes but to me the big thing that the Kings did tonight and the reason why they won was limiting their other guys I mean the other night against Boston You could argue everybody was kind of uh an an

Other guy uh with Tatum being out but I mean yeah that you saw Derek white get 20 plus you saw pton Pritcher get 20 plus you saw Drew holiday get 20 plus uh the Kings didn’t allow you know the Grayson Allen of the world the Eric Eric

Gordons of the world uh to get going tonight and and really made it on KD and book to to win in ISO and I thought the Kings did a terrific job of just blocking off the spots KD and and book are the best mid-range shooters in the

NBA and you kind of saw a guy at the point of contact and then someone else kind of shading off to the side at the free throw line extended just trying to make sure that if they are going to get to their spot which they’re just lethal

At uh at least it’s going to be heavily contested and uh that’s that’s really all you can ask when you’re playing dudes at that are shop makers the quality of Devon Booker and KD is uh is to just make life hard on them because you know you’re you’re never going to be

Able to slow those guys down 28 for D KD tonight 24 for book um but it’s it’s about you know getting book to shoot nine of 20 0 of three from three ktie never really got into a rhythm tonight uh and I I credit the Kings offense for

That uh definitely they they deserve some of the credit I will also say you know I I do think some of it was also bad offense as well uh I didn’t love the the sets that Phoenix was running today you know and they don’t have a point guard even if if they’re completely

Healthy there’s not really a traditional point guard on on the sun’s roster and so they they they just kind of have a tough time of of not falling into ISO ball and uh you saw that the Kings just kind of allowed them to to play as much

ISO ball as they wanted tonight and uh they they definitely were were better for it the Suns only finished with 17 assists which has to be if if I had to guess just off the top of my head that’s got to be a a season low allowed for

This Kings Team 17 is just it’s nothing uh Devin Booker had seven assists Sabin Lee had four uh the next highest had two so uh kings are did a great job of of keeping uh keeping the Suns in in ISO ball and uh that’s you know a lot of

Teams aren’t going to be able to win just straight up like that against this Kings team with with the ridiculous rate at which they shoot the ball and the crazy efficiency at which they do it as well um and we’ll we’ll talk about some of the those efficiency numbers a little

Bit later tonight as I check on making sure that opponent assist here yeah that is a season Low by far uh the lowest previously was actually funny enough the Clippers um uh when the Kings played them in La had 21 assists so uh lowest Mark of the Season at 17 allowed uh for

The Kings tonight and and uh it really felt like it I mean this game was was pretty stagnated for really a quarter and a half that first quarter especially was crazy long we’ll get into that in a second but um you know the game really struggled to get into a rhythm because

Just free throws free throws free throws and fouls called constantly uh and so you know I think that actually kind of weirdly worked to the king’s advantage and uh yeah Phoenix was just never really able to to get comfortable and get into any sort of Rhythm or or really

Get any sort of momentum in their favor so good on the Kings for for minimizing that and we’ve seen teams really just just absolutely take off some times uh when they when they play the Kings especially again in that third quarter against the Celtics the other day it

Just felt like the second second half started Boston took off and the Kings could just never slow him down um but how about that first quarter how how strange was that how many of you all watching uh this stream saw or recognized that first first fourth quarter uh that first quarter blunder by

The uh by the I think it was the game official like the the ingame uh Arena staff I think actually kind of slipped up a little bit and they added uh like 45 seconds I think in that first quarter uh when Malik got those two blocks which

Were insane uh he got those two blocks on the same possession got a jump ball on the second block and then uh yeah during that jump ball for whatever reason referees added 45 seconds and didn’t take it off uh until it was like a weird stoppage of play KD got fouled

And sent to the line and uh they didn’t fix it until like a minute and a half later it was it was really strange and uh defin not something I’ve seen before uh so I thought that was interesting I did not see it at all and uh as it was

Happening I was like what the hell is going on in this game right now um let’s see here uh um how about that Malik monk dunk y’all oh my God how about that holy hell I almost lost my top when Malik threw that down I that’s the dunk of the year to me

I I know the the Chris Dunn dunk in in Utah earlier this year was uh was going to always kind of be the bar that you needed to reach and I know it wasn’t on any body and it was a pretty similar style dunk but the elevation and just

The explosion and the anger the verocity in which he threw that down I I don’t know maybe it’s just because we were in the building for this one but this this to me is going down as the dunk of the year for Malik just what it makes me

Want I wish I wish uh I could be uh speak a little freely because there’s words I want to use to describe Malik’s dunk that I just can’t and I feel like the English language or at least my English vocabulary is not wide enough to properly say what I want to say about

Malik’s dunk without uh without some FCC violations and Shout Out Bonville um so yeah I’m just gonna we’ll just leave it at Malik’s dunk was nasty and uh know that there’s a lot more that I want to say um Dwayne this is interesting for sure we need an upgrade a backup point

Guard agree um I thought Keon played good tonight for sure he didn’t hit his shots um but played really really well defensively um and he just looks super comfortable I I’m liking what I’m seeing out of out of uh Keon Ellis but I I do think that there is a um

I I’m concerned that yeah like he he’s stealing minutes right now um in the playoffs I’m not saying Keon ‘s wouldn’t be in the king’s rotation I’m not saying he shouldn’t um but it definitely is a spot where if you were looking to upgrade you could you could definitely

Understand why uh they would want to get maybe just something else out of that out of that position I mean I I think uh Keon’s kind of serving serving the the job there but um there’s definitely a different level that this team can go to if I think if they add another player

Who can put the ball in their hand and uh really facilitate the offense and create some shots for their own as well for themsel as well um you know that’s definitely a spot in which Keon lacks he’s not really the best playmaker and uh until recently we really haven’t seen

A lot of self-creation so maybe he can develop on that front but um I I would not be opposed to going out and getting a a another backup point guard but it does in my opinion I would say that another Wing is is this team’s biggest

Need in terms of raising its ceiling I think if they can get um you know I’ve been a proponent of Jared vanderbelt that’s that’s a guy who’s struggling this season in in La um but I I still think the defensive tools that he brings would be a welcome addition to this King team

That’s the kind of guy that I’m I’m looking for at the deadline though I know uh a more names will become available but B uh you know you just you never know who will be available either you you never know what names are are GNA uh be out there and how situations

Change real quick um let’s see here um just looking through the chat here um shout out Ian yes my mic does finally work I brought all the necessary cords I brought my mic I’m I’m ready to go y’all this is a this is an important backtack

And I I realized that I I came correct today as did the Kings and uh yeah it was it was uh oh interesting a mid Rock says he didn’t notice the the stoppage I wonder if maybe with uh the the beauty of commercial timeouts Maybe it wasn’t

That obvious on TV but it was it was a really really weird moment um oh this is an interesting question from Street Thumper is malite gonna be in the dunk contest he could he definitely could he’s gotten the highlights he’s like just young enough barely like at

25 he’s still young enough to to feel like you know he’s he’s probably still in the prime of his leaping ability uh and wouldn’t have to ice up too much the day after it’s a question I mean I don’t think he’s a game dunker because there is a difference between like ingame

Dunkers and you know flashy flare dunkers you know just because like Derek Williams the Kings derck Williams is a fantastic in-game dunker he can dunk on people he gets high up in the air uh he he would throw it down hard but you know he’s not really the go between the legs

And you know do a 180 kind of guy um he he’s definitely more of a uh sorry as Brad Miller as I’m just gonna turn this can I turn that over to you there’s Brad Miller y’all just just kind of casually strolling by as I was talking about

Malik’s dunking ability so I had to had to just kind of play that one cool for a minute but um yeah no it’s it’s definitely an interesting question I feel like Malik is more than capable of doing it but whether or not he kind of wants to go through the process of of

Coming up with dunks and um you know the Indian I I can’t lie the the uh All-Star game is in Indiana this year so it would not surprise me if Malik just kind of sets that one up to be honest with you I mean it’s an honor to be at all-star

Weekend I don’t think Malik has ever participated in all-star weekend before unless it was in the rookie sophomore game but I uh something tells me Indiana doesn’t have a lot to offer Malik m so wouldn’t surprise me if he skips out on it but he he’s definitely more than

Qualified especially at this point to uh to have his name thrown in the race okay King me I’m gonna address you only because I I honestly I want you to stop brother okay I I don’t know what you want from this team King me like you’re you’re always in the comments

You’re you’re in the show comments you’re in these this Show’s comments we normally ignore you because honestly it feels like you’re you’re just trolling you’re just trying a troll what do you want like what what do you want again this team is 17 and 10 they yes I will

Even say they have not played super well they have not been World beaters this year but they are still 17 and 10 and you need to think about on a on a on a uh relative basis for how this team has has performed in the past it’s been so

So much worse than this uh I I just I don’t know what you want I I have no idea what you expect out of this team um it’s it’s seems like it’s never good enough for you like do you just want them to win by 40 every single night I

See you complaining about Mike Brown all the time like you what you want you want them to fire Mike Brown you think Mike Brown’s not doing a good job you think he doesn’t have his team properly prepared every single night what what do you what and what you think firing him

And bringing in some assistant coach is is going to be a good thing you think instability is good for this team not not sure what you want K me so uh just just just stop brother just just stop get help enjoy this team if you’re frustrated I understand keep it to

Yourself because you’re not bringing up good points you’re just being cynical and frankly no one’s got time for it right now nobody’s got time for it okay if you wanna if you’re doing this so that maybe if this team completely craters you can say I told you so that’s

Great we’ve got we all understand we’ve gotten the point your messages received stop just stop until until it happens until they are completely crashed just just cut it man because frankly I’m I’m sick and tired of scrolling and seeing you just hate hate hate hate like bring

Move on let’s move on to uh let’s see what can we talk about from tonight’s game was there anything else that was really sticking in my crawl from tonight’s game uh I will say it was interesting the uh technical fouls I thought that was uh not nothing the fact Phoenix really

Seemed upset uh for a lot of tonight uh I I you know again it was it was a heavily whistled game on both sides um you know the Kings had had tons of foul calls on them they were in the penalty like five minutes to go in that first

Quarter um and you know for for some reason KD and uh book and then Frank vogle as well all picked up texts um Phoenix was frustrated tonight man I don’t know if if this is a a thing that’s been going on I mean I know they’ve been struggling all season long

I’ve I’ve watched a good handful of Phoenix Suns games honestly they’re probably the team that I’ve seen maybe second or third most behind the Kings um I I it’s just I have not seen them look this frustrated before maybe it’s everything kind of coming together and um you know they didn’t have nkit

Tonight so I don’t know how many nights they’ve played with without uh Beal and nurkic or or somebody and nurkic um but it it feels like they are not even close to deep enough to contend and you know to whatever what was this uh I just King

Me’s point I guess um you know I I think the sun steam does lack depth um they are very very topheavy and when they’re going to have multiple guys out um you know it it is it is a a weaker opponent and I’ve been saying that I mean for

Shout out again I I’ll I’m just going to direct this entire show at King me uh you know I’ve I’ve been saying on on the uh on our 10 to two show um I I don’t think that the Phoenix Suns team should be talked about in the same caliber when

We’re talking about this run that the kings are on here or this run of games that the kings were on here with the Celtics Suns and t-wolves to me one of those things is not like the others um and that’s the Suns team I I think that

Sure potentially people can see how this Suns team could uh you know with the talent they have they could be a contender but at the end of the day uh I just I don’t think that there’s enough enough horses on this team and the

Amount that they rely on KD at age 35 is just nuts and it’s too much and it’s not going uh to be able to last long so I don’t know I I really I don’t know what Phoenix should do I mean they’re kind of screwed cap wise with playing Bradley

Beal as much as they are with paying KD as much as they are um they really can’t afford to bring in a lot of depth pieces Eric Gordon is really about as good of a value piece as you’re going to get in this league and uh the fact that it just

Doesn’t feel like they’re they have enough I thought it was strange Grayson Allen tonight really didn’t have that much of an impact I kind of thought Grayson was going to be uh a big part of the game plan tonight he played 29 minutes but really didn’t feel like it

In my opinion didn’t feel like he he played a lot and Drew Eubanks as well like they needed a big Drew Eubanks performance with nurkic out he played 14 minutes and sabonis dominated him the entire time Eubanks had a minus 23 in his 14 minutes so the entire time he was

On the floor he was just getting absolutely dominated let’s go um let’s go uh let’s do our three stars of the night and uh keep a pushing for tomorrow um first star as you can see this one was a tough one you know I I really thought Keegan had a great game

It feels like uh Keegan Murray is is back to me when it comes to when he first started with the Kings um it it really was uh I mean obviously his summer league was incredible but you had a feeling or at least I did um that

Every time Keegan Murray put up a three it felt like it was going to go in and if it wasn’t going to go in it was going to be because he shot it a little bit too strong or a little bit too soft it was never left or right it was always

Right on target it was just a matter of you know depth perception and uh it feels like he’s back to that level it to me feels like every time he’s open I believe it’s going in and uh I mean he he’s been on a heater since you know obviously that 47o game

Something clearly clicked his confidence is up there he’s putting up 20o games like they’re nothing noways uh yeah had a step back three which was incredible I thought his foot was on the line but then looked back at it it was it was Picture Perfect um so

His development is is is great to see you see him creating off the dribble which is huge didn’t see any of that last year so um Keegan’s development is great but I I just had to give uh the one star tonight for HB because again he’s he’s looking really aggressively

For his shot and uh it’s the thing that we’ve all been kind of uh clamoring for for a while now is for HB to look aggressive Mike Brown kind of had to come out and defend him uh a couple weeks ago it might have been a month ago

At this point and say you know I actually don’t run plays for HB at all so everything he gets is is all in the flow of offense and you know we ask him to do so many things that it’s not just about scoring well you see HB kind of

When what what it looks like when he does have that that aggressive mindset clicked on and when he does look for his own he’s open in the corners for threes all the time good to see him knock down four of them tonight he’s so efficient

He can get to the basket he once he hits one or two of those threes he can pump fake on it get his defender in the air and drive to the Lane and you know know he’s so good at getting those and ones he got that and one right here uh I

Think that was at the end of the third quarter got somebody uh get his elbow and got the and one HP was just great tonight and he’s been great um by his standards for the past four or five games uh I think Kings PR put out an HB

Number that I can give you here let’s see here there was Harrison Barnes has scored in double figures in four straight games with 19 points through three quarters tonight versus Phoenix this is also the third game with 15 plus points over his last four outings so there you go that’s uh

That then that’s cut and dry right there HB is scoring uh really like he hasn’t scored all season long in terms of consistency we saw him have that big 30-point game in week in game one uh and then just be really I mean I would say

Up and down but it’s really been just a lot of down and you know some 12 to 15o games sprinkled here and there you haven’t really seen a consistent line of 14 to you know 18 19 points and this is the first time really all season that

He’s been able to put those kind of performances together so love to see that out of HB uh one star for my man Harrison Barnes two stars tonight for the head of the snake dearen Fox um you know it was um was a good game for Deon nothing

Special um kind of especially in that first half I looked over to Brendan and Frankie and just was like dearen casual 16 at half really didn’t press for it much didn’t really feel like uh there was any points in which he was just straight taking over um just kind of got

To his spots when he needed to was really calculated about um doing it in the flow of the offense uh did a great job of pushing the pace after made baskets he got a couple uh couple easy Layin just pushing them pushing the ball down the floor um and of course I mean

He had that one sick Euro Step where he I mean he is so good at his body control and his changing of Gears from you know the fifth gear back down to first gear um it’s it’s so hard to guard him like just think about somebody who has the

Ability to to go it’s almost like a Tesla he goes from zero to 100 so quick but then he can also hit the brakes and just stop and change direction so quick it’s it’s it’s impossible to defend I mean think about trying to stop that I mean you’re going to be backpedaling and

Then he’s stops and then you try and lean forward and stop and as you’re leaning forward he’s going around it it’s just impossible and uh you know this is this is why dearen is is is him you know he he’s been ridiculous all season long um he’s up I saw the other

Day shout out our guy Frankie uh tarn’s up to 40% from three on the season shot two of six tonight so he keeps um no he probably will drop actually after 33% but um yeah just a great game out of dear nothing really special but um just your everyday Dean Fox performance if

Anything a below average performance for dear and then three stars for domas uh triple double tonight it was easy it was super easy for him you know with with nurkic out who frankly let’s let’s not forget he does dominate naret too um but you knew it was going to be pretty easy

For sabonis tonight I mean the Suns just don’t have the Personnel outside of nket to to deal with him jur EU Banks couldn’t deal with the physicality we went over that minus 23 and 14 minutes for Eubanks after that it was chimi metu uh they rolled out asabuki who actually

I thought gave him some good minutes but if you’re going to expect him to kind of try and slow down sabonis uh you’re not going to be very successful so I thought domas was was fantastic tonight and again I think tomorrow looking ahead when when you look at that Minnesota

Timberwolves game it’s going to be tough but you’re going to need deonis sabonis to uh to not be a negative tomorrow because I know again I know cat isn’t playing but goar is still the best defender in in the NBA at least when it comes to the center

Position um I know sabonis can can throw his weight around a little bit when it comes to gobear but then you have NZ Reed as well who we’ve seen Naz Reed just kill absolutely kill the Kings uh in the past and you know he’s the type

Of big who would give sabonis a lot of fits because he’s a mobile guy he he is mobile he’s strong as hell um and he can shoot the ball so he’s going to extend the floor defensively he’s going to make sabonis run and uh you know he he’s also G to probably be

Able to to bang around with sabonis a little bit so um probably going to need domas to to have a a game tomorrow I don’t know if he necessarily needs to have a performance like he had tonight but he’s definitely going to have to show up and uh and make a make an

Imprint on on uh on Minnesota’s bigs because it’s not going to be the same Minnesota team we saw last time they’re going to have Jaden McDaniel who I have been I’ve been praising this man uh for really weeks now um his defensive ability is is absurd and he didn’t play

The last time the Kings played them the day after Thanksgiving um and I think he’s going to make a big impact we know the Kings struggle with length and size and Jaden McDaniels provides just that he is a defensive lunatic I don’t think they’ll put him on dearon um that would

Be Overkill but they’re probably going to put it on Keegan Murray it’s going to be really tough for Keegan to get around him he’s strong he’s long as hell he’s going to be able to contest pretty much uh any shot Keegan tries to throw up and also anything in the paint of course

Keegan’s not the the strongest you know Rim attacker uh it’s going to be tough for him to kind of get around a guy like Jaden McDaniels and of course Anthony Edwards as well Anthony Edward where Anthony Edwards will be in town uh he is well documented uh saying that he likes

Uh shooting here in SA ACO he he’s talked about how for some reason I think how how back lit it is behind the behind the Hoops for whatever reason it it Anthony Edwards really likes it and uh yeah that does not bode well for the king so hopefully ant uh is thinking

About fire Wings tomorrow which he is also well documented in saying he’s a big fan of fire wings I believe he said they’re the best wings he’s ever had in his life so uh hopefully he’ll be thinking about that and uh not focus too much on

The game because he’s going to be a problem he’s going to be a problem tomorrow I don’t know who the kings are going to try and put on him I’ll have to watch uh the the tape on that game uh later tonight because it’s gonna gonna

Be a tough one second night of a back toback uh Minnesota’s been chilling here since uh earlier today I think they flew in um they played the Lakers yeser yeah so they flew in earlier today and the Kings obviously played tonight and kind of played their their starters and until

The end of this game which I thought was an interesting decision not quite sure why Mike Brown decided to play uh his guys so deep in tonight’s game but sabonis 34 minutes Fox 32 um you know they’re they’re still a young young team so they should be able to uh to have
