JaVale McGee on the Sacramento Kings being 0-4 on second night’s of back-to-backs
Let Focus this J um they’re obviously a good defensive team but how impressive were they on that end tonight um they were definitely impressive on the defensive end um their Pace was was pretty hectic um I feel like we missed a lot of shots that we usually hit um but they
Definitely uh are the number one team in the league for a reason defensively a couple people point out their points in PID the first half you guys did a better job in that first half just what you see the difference in the two or in the
Second half um that first half I feel like we were were really worried about the three-point line and uh letting Rudy get those easy buckets and uh that second half we really uh tried that was really something we were harping on um just because they weren’t hitting the
Threes uh in the first half so that’s something we’re harping on in the second half just to see them kind of push the pace the way they did I think it was like 28 to5 on the fast break how how uh tough was that to swallow KN even though you guys did play
Yesterday you said even though we did play Yesterday um I mean no one wants to to get uh fast break points uh we want that’s something uh coach is always harping on is uh everybody getting back and you don’t have a man in transition so uh it’s not it’s it’s not a good
Thing that they definitely were killing us on The Fast Break points but uh luckily we got 82 games so and uh luckily we didn’t lose to a team that that that was worse than us you know what I’m saying for sure in the rankings at least yeah do they seem any different
I mean coach mentioned having McDaniels in there you guys played them up there and came away with a win outside of the result they seem different you uh McD’s definitely made impact on the defensive end and even uh in the corners and and I believe he made one in the slot also uh
At the three-point line um he definitely made a difference but I don’t think that was the sole uh difference that changed uh our outcome from what it was down there in Minnesota JV you’ve been in the league a long time you guys are struggling with these back to backs what
Is it that you’re seeing that kind of stands out you’re 0 and for and back to back so far this season um I don’t know I know I don’t know really uh maybe we get too maybe we we we have to realize we can’t get too high and we
Can’t get too low um cuz I believe on those back to backs we we usually win the first one yeah um so it’s different if you losing the first one and you Los in the second one uh I don’t know I don’t know I got to really look at it I
Got to watch the film and look at it not great percentages on the offensive side of the ball um how much that you feel like was just missing shots and do you feel like the defense may be leaked into that a little bit um I think it was
Definitely uh Missing shots um I feel like on offense we do a great job of uh going to both sides of the floor and moving the ball and uh being unselfish so I just think we just our shots was more hidden uh the way they usually do
And then when that happens and and you allow people to get fast break points and points in the paint it just compounds ready for Christmas uh yeah looking forward to it I guess yeah yeah another day for sure got you
Sacramento Kings center JaVale McGee spoke with reporters Saturday night after their 110-98 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He discussed the team’s ongoing struggles on the second night’s of back-to-backs, their defensive struggles in the first half, and more.
