This article lays out the Nets’ options pretty clearly and rationally. There is no incentive to fully gut the team because of the Harden trade. And there are avenues to short term improvement available – trading expiring vets and less valuable picks – and there is no reason why they shouldn’t use them to either upgrade now or get more draft capital. But I would only entertain conversations about those late decade Suns picks if we were getting back a sure fire Hall of Famer in his prime who was excited to be here.

    Two additional notes:

    – Everything may be peaceful in Dallas now, but I also wouldn’t trade that 2029 Mavs pick until we have a better clue about where Luka will be playing then.

    – As much as I enjoy watching this year’s team compete, next year’s draft is considered very weak. Everyone always says the Nets have no incentive to lose, but if we have opportunities to sell expiring vets at the deadline for a respectable return, I’m not all that concerned about bottoming out post deadline and having to swap picks with the Rockets this year.

This is wild–we’re pretty much gonna be in a position to sign stars again in 2025 and 2026 AND THEN begin cashing in on those picks which are sure to be lottery! In Marks We Trust.

Might have to keep that 2025 pick now. Definitely that 2027 ain’t going anywhere either

Dallas pick goes absolutely no where till he resigns and that’s the earliest it could move.

This is amazing. Those picks are insanely valuable now

I might be overly down on this but I don’t see this working out for us like to did for the Celtics with out picks even if the suns implode (pun intended). They can still get a haul of picks and decent players for booker and KD still has plenty of value too. The only real unmovable piece is Beal who is going to be decent when healthy for a while. IDK i might just think our franchise is cursed after how the big three era went but I don’t see this Turing into us getting top five picks for three or four strait year’s
