I mean, we can fly him out to pitch free agents. I feel like that is the best use of him. Pay him a couple thousand a year and a bonus for every free agent he brings in. Something like that. It’s not my money so fuck it.

Love AI, and I know some of you will strongly disagree with what I’m about to say, but I do not believe in blindly rewarding past loyalty/accomplishments with undeserved compensation in the present

It’s like when an organization gives a COMPLETELY washed player a max contract simply because they helped them win a championship in the past even though they can no longer effectively contribute to the team. Yeah it’s make for a nice story I guess, but it’s dumb as shit and completely illogical on the part of the organization

Same deal here. I will always be grateful to AI, but he’s a player (one who is not exactly known for being responsible, I might add), not an executive. So thanks, but no thanks, the 76ers don’t need to be throwing around unnecessary dollars

John Street school of PR. Send him out front with a Polaroid. I’d put our pic on the fridge 🤣🤣

  4. GoneCollarGone

Would he honestly even show up for work?

This is interesting. The actual article names Allen Iverson as the legend in the title but the post here has it removed as clickbait.

Edit: looking at the post history, this user seems to be some shill for sportsnaut

Get him to teach Maxey how to do crossovers

    /s

Advisory seems like the most he could do. Come in every now and then and just talk with the team for an hour. Go hold court at a Blue Coats practice and just let them pick your brain.

His biggest current contribution would be sitting and watching tape with Maxey if he doesn’t want to get out on the court anymore.

Other than that, just be a presence. Be willing to talk to potential free agents about what you think they could get out of coming to Philly.

He is the Axl Rose of basketball, legend but I’m not hiring him to do anything

    Ok, fuck it…

I was witness to Allen Iverson driving his Mercedes into Kelly Oubre while Kelly Oubre was trying to ride his bike across the street.

There you go Allen, are you happy?

Love AI, but what kind of position could they give him? What position would he actually be of help and be engaged? It just doesn’t seem like a fit.

How busy is he with Reebok? Or is that just a title only role?

  11. Next-Team

I’m glad we’re all in agreement that this wouldn’t be a good idea. AI is my favorite athlete ever but shouldn’t be in a front office role, like others have said maybe some type of consultant or something like a team/culture ambassador since he’s a basketball and Philly legend

  12. iam_soyboy

Shit did he blow thru his Rebook deferred 50m already?!

AI is one of my five favorite players but no.

Use him for select, special PR or media moments. I don’t think he’s reliable enough for a full time gig.

  14. SendNubes__

Hes broke. He wants a handout. He cant work

  15. JojoSixers

I guess maybe he could do a few minutes here and there with Kate and Alaa. It could be entertaining, I’m sure he’s got some good stories and insights into the game.

  16. Meepsnort

Worth a try to see if he’s a little more reliable now that he’s older. Kinda seems like he might be?

  17. Yeah if Croce was still owner Iverson would have been a part

  18. All this talk about what he would actually do is absurd. Just give him 100K a year to hang out and also to go away when asked to. No stress. I’m sure everyone would be happy with the arrangement.

I love iverson the player hate iverson the person. Always the biggest cheapo at the club too.
