Wemby’s IQ is already insane and to me that’s what separates him from the rest of the rookies in this class. The other rookies are skilled but Wemby sets up the team or knows advantages on the floor better than a ton of teams, and it’s not being spoken about a lot at all.

Great breakdown by him. If Cedi cuts to the top of the circle clearing his defender from the weak side of the court, Wemby has his man sealed high and can easily cut to the rim or kick out to the corner if he gets the pass. It’s almost a gimmie. I loved that instant analysis of the play. After a couple of weeks of shitty opposing broadcast teams these two were a breath of fresh air.

Being a pro in Europe really paid dividends. Our youth system is AAU trash. Our NCAA system is very hit or miss because recruiting is the top skill a coach needs to succeed.

10-15 years from now Wemby on a podcast ”Yeah my rookie year they didn’t know how to play with me. They was putting a guy shoots one handed free throws as a playmaker and point guard…”

Wemby’s experience in the French league should not be overlooked. He probably has more experience with offensive systems than a lot of his teammates.
