  1. Our defense was already average before, but it’s been nonexistent with this starting lineup lately. DFS should’ve been a starter 3 games ago.

Play switch with Clax and drop with Dayron. Dayron has really good advanced defensive numbers this year, and he’s passing the eye test in the drop scheme. Clax has fallen off a cliff in advanced defensive numbers compared to last year, and is not passing the eye test at all in drop.

I understand the rebounding concerns, but utilize Clax in his best role. Create turnovers with length and stop giving up 3pt shootout looks every game.

It just makes no sense to me how we’re so bad at defense. Mikal, DFS, Clax, Royce, CamJ & DSJ are all good defenders. We have so much length all over the court we should be one of the better defensive teams in the league.

Dinwiddie and Cam are obviously really bad but that’s just two out of our 9-man rotation. We need to switch something up.

  4. We suck on defense because you’re asking a bunch of role players to step up on offense, which hinders their defensive ability because they are tired. Mikal was able to guard the best player when he was a sun because he wasn’t asked to do much offensively besides catch and shoot. These are role players being asked to be better #1 scorers which they aren’t, and in turn, is affecting the ability for them to defend. It doesn’t help that we don’t have a good PG that can set up. Spencer is average at best and with Bum Simmons out, it just makes it worse.

  5. We lost to 2 of the teams on the bottom left and almost lost to the other 😂
