Monty Williams need to step away for a few games and the pistons just might actually get a win. He is too stubborn and he does know how to use Ausar and Ivey properly. He is sabotaging the team by having weird rotations and his line ups changes are confusing. He needs to be on Hiatus

Totally agree. Monty and his whack rotations and not playing the core young guys together. Burks has been consistently bad, look at his +/- it’s always bad. If Monty was a good coach, he would find a way to put guys in the best position to excel at what they’re good at. Ausar is a special talent and a freak athlete. They don’t need to run plays for him, he knows how to got for lobs and finishes around the hoop. They encouraged him to shoot 3’s and his percentage is horrible.

…how abt STARTING w the fact that duren has missed most of their games this yr and the fact they were 2-1 w him in the lineup to start the szn b4 he got injured. duren gives cade a real pnr partner. we saw them dominate team usa last summer w that 2-man game. hes a crucial piece. esp when missing duren means that bagley and wiseman (A guy kerr cut loose too) get real rotation minutes.
then bro says "FOR WHATEVER REASON monty willams is unwilling to give ivy the same long leash…" the reason is IMPORTANT. its bc the organization gave him a mandate to WIN this yr not develop. thats why they paid monty so much and made trades for vets in the offseason instead of leaving space for the young buhls. the owners have come out publically, b4 the szn and again more recently saying the play-in/playoffs is/was their goal this season. thats an upper level management issue
there's no question there are flaws in the pistons roster. not that they dont have talent but the talent doesnt fit together well. yee ivy and thompson amongst others are studs but they havent rly been ready to win RN. ivy's struggled defensively and they both cant shoot for 💩. thats a big reason cade is struggling. hes trying to perform miracles every posssession w no spacing. the vets are watching n thnking "shiiiii im better off just going iso in that case" – and you see burks n bogdon(idk if thats the right one) forcin it too. lakers have the same issue in terms of having personnel that doesnt fit v well together and every1s trying to fix it on their own with different methods some of them misguided some valid (for instance i cant believe lebron doesnt have a say in the starting lineup decisions for the lakers – aint no way)
mike malone makes hockey subs too, basically replacing 5 starters w 5 bench guys. hes does that bc he thinks the starting group is successful bc every1 complements each other perfectly and that a mixed lineup wouldnt b much better than a strait bench lineup. no malone slander for the same strategy (if anything it prob got jokic a couple mvps bc his on/off numbers look gaudy!)
I understand push back from the detroit fanbase defending their players but monty shouldnt take all the blame. Have monty n ham been perfect. hell na. no1 is, but lets not make inflammatory headlines abt them like they dont have real challenges on their hands. Pistons n cade have been playin much better since duren came back. im a boston fan. i watch every game and the pistons played well the other night. it wasnt just that the Cs were coming off a west coast road trip or didnt show up against a weak opponent. Monty told our owner Gores from the beginning that he didn't want to coach this season- and from what I've seen so far Monty's been true to his word – because I can't call what Monty is doing – "coaching" – that's for sure. Monty's lineups, his substitution patterns and his minutes distributions are all completely whacked and make no sense at all. Get him out of town ASAP – PLEASE!!!!!!

My theory on the Pistons is that the organization knew they wanted to continue to tank and lose as many games as possible: with that being the premise, they chose a great head coach to be there to lead the team when they finally get good enough to compete. But the reason Detroit gave Monte all that money was because they wanted him to lose. So they compensated him in order for him to tarnish his reputation. He took the money knowingly that this was the plan. I don't feel bad for anyone involved. But this is all apart of the plan, im sure of it

Monty is an offense coach with a defense team. Poor management he does not play the right player. He should substitute Duren and Steward with Bagley and Wiseman. Monty is the problem. In the fourth quarter, the Pistons look like a Div.II team playing a Div. I team. Because Monty relies on the three-point shot over the defense. He starts the game big and finishes small. I would start with Cade, Ivey, Ausar, Steward, and Duren. Bench would be Killan, Bogey, Knox, Wiseman, and Bagley.
Pistons needs to get rid of everyone on the roster and start a new rebuild imo. Cade is okay at best a third option on a real team.
